Chapter 92: You’re Nothing
JULIA
I sighed in relief as soon as the school day was over. I had been hearing it from Heather’s friends all day and was blatantly asked by strangers about the situation.
Just then, I received a text from Rui that I had to come to Eyan’s office for the initial meeting of their collaboration with Mr. Miyagi. Although I was tired, I couldn’t help but smile.
Mr. Miyagi had always been my idol, and to be able to work with him when I hadn’t even graduated felt like a
I went to the restrooms to fix my makeup but stopped when I saw Heather inside. She was putting on some makeup, too, appearing like she hadn’t cried the entire day. She turned her attention to me, a small smirk on her lips.
I pursed my lips. “I knew it,” I said with narrowed eyes.
Heather placed her lip gloss inside her pocket and crossed her arms in front of her chest.
“What?” she asked.
“You look absolutely fine,” I said with a fake smile.
“Well, of course,” she responded. “Why wouldn’t I be?”
I glared at her, feeling my anger bubbling over.
“Already feeling my wrath? I haven’t even done anything yet,” she taunted further.
I sighed, running my fingers through my hair. “You know–you’re so immature.”
Her eyebrows slightly raised.
“You must have been used to getting everything you wanted when you were young, and you can’t accept the fact that v
you can’t have everything. So, you’re now throwing a tantrum like a little bitch.”
Heather’s mouth went agape, unable to find the right words.
“I don’t even know why I thought you were kind at first,” muttered, shaking my head. “Come to think of it, you must have something to do with what happened more than five years ago.”
Her expression slightly changed, but that was the only thing I needed. She did have something to do with it. Still, she kept her chin held high
“You can’t prove anything,” she said.
“Now.”
“I can’t prove anything now. However, Heather, remember that this will all come back to you,” I said, pointing a finger at her.
“Go ahead,” she said, regaining confidence. “Let’s see if you still have the chance to do all of that. Remember, Julia. I had stolen Evander from you once, and I’ll do it over and over again.”
“Who knows?” she asked, shrugging. “I might get your little boy, too.”
I bit my lip. “I won’t let you.”

“I’m sure you won’t,” she said, wallding closer to me and running a finger down my cheek. “But that won’t stop me now, will it?”
“You’re not going to succeed,” I said, not wanting to lose to her.
“Let’s see,” she said for the last time.
She attempted to leave the room, but I held onto her wrist, er eyes widened as she turned to me, probably not expecting that I would retaliate.
“You know, Heather, it’s funny how you’ve spent all this time belittling me. But your words could never dim what I’ve achieved. Let’s get one thing straight. I was chosen by Mr. Miyagi. Me. Not you. And while you’re over here clinging to your petty little jabs, I’m building something that will outlast your bitterness.”
“You talk about me losing everything like it’s some kind of prophecy, but maybe you should take a look in the mirror. The only thing slipping away here is your relevance. Keep wasting your energy on me, though it’s only a matter of time before you realize you’ve got nothing left but the echo of your own voice.”
“And Heather? When that day comes, don’t expect any sympathy from me. You’ve made it clear what you deserve.
She looked at me with wide eyes. I forcefully let go of her arm and walked away from the bathroom. If someone was going to be left behind–it was her, not me.
I arrived at the Astor building, suddenly feeling nervous for our first meeting. I entered the building and was greeted warmly by the guard.
I then went to the reception.
“Julia Johnson,” I merely said.
The receptionist’s eyes widened, and she quickly pointed to the elevator. “Ah, yes. Ms. Johnson. You may go up to the highest floor.”
I smiled at her, and she smiled back with red cheeks. “Thank you,” I said before heading upstairs.
Although it was at the very top, I felt that it took too fastr maybe that was my nerves talking. I arrived and saw Rui at the desk outside.
“Miss Julia,” he said in his usual professional tone. “You’re early.”
I glanced at my watch and saw that, indeed, I was early for around ten minutes.
“Mr. Evander is the only one there. You may go in,” he said.
I bit my lip. “When is Mr. Miyagi coming?” Although we talked to each other last night and cleared up some things, the kiss still stayed in my mind. I reckoned it would be pretty awkward with only the two of us inside.
“He said he was on his way,” Rui said. “Now, please, ma’am, head inside. You cannot wait here. Mr. Evander would give me a good scolding if I let that happen.”
I tilted my head to the side in confusion but did as he told me nonetheless.
I entered the room and was greeted by the sight of Evan sitting on his chair, his brows furrowed as he went through a mountain of papers. However, that wasn’t what caught my attention.
“Evan,” I muttered. He lifted his head, his brow relaxing when he saw me.
