Fortunately, as soon as the meeting began, Evan and Heath stopped with their petty fights. They were now in serious mode, and honestly, the two looked attractive as he.
“Handsome, aren’t they?” Sarah whispered, but I merely nudged her side and focused my attention on Mr. Miyagi.
“I want to call it the ‘Incomplete Collection,” he started off. “Julia’s concept of the incomplete flower- imperfect, unfinished, yet beautiful–will be the foundation. We’ll apply it to objects, logos, and designs. It’s unconventional, but that’s what will make it stand out.”
I couldn’t help but smile. Mr. Miyagi thought so highly of my work, and I was quite proud of what I’ve achieved.
Evan nodded with a serious expression. “I agree. Julia did a great job with the artwork. People, especially the younger generation, would gravitate towards it.”
“I saw it, too,” Heath said. “It looks really nice. Our company is already outsourcing the materials needed.”
Mr. Miyagi then turned to me, his gaze softening slightly. For the pay, I want Julia and I to have half.”
My eyes widened in surprise. Mr. Miyagi was known to have a very high talent f*e.
“That’s too much, sir. I don’t even have a name as an artist yet.”
He smiled like a father, placing his hand over my shoulder “You will be. Don’t worry. It’s only a matter of time before you can achieve what I have.”
I opened my mouth to protest, but he held up a hand, silencing me.
“I have more money than I know what to do with, Julia. Trust me, that is the least of my worries. I truly want to create something meaningful this time around, and your artwork inspired me,” he said.
Then, he began gathering his t things.
“We’ll meet on the weekends to work on the pieces. I need my weekdays for family time.”
I nodded, still shocked by his generosity. “Of course, sir. I’m only one call away.”
Mr. Miyagi’s gaze lingered on me for a moment, and then he turned to Evan and Heath. “Take care of Julia, alright? Her hands are precious.”
Both men responded at the same time. “Yes, sir.”
Mr. Miyagi’s lips twitched, and then I saw the recognition is his eyes. He turned around, pausing for a second before smirking. “I see,” he said to himself. “This is really fun.”
“Well, I’m going now. Say hi to your dad for me, Evander.”
And with that, he was gone, leaving the room in silence.
As soon as the door closed behind him, Sarah let out a low whistle. “Okay, Julia, we’re rich now. We can finally move to a better apartment. Somewhere with a safer neighborhood, maybe even a doorman. Oh, and a chauffeur?”
I rolled my eyes at her exaggeration.
Before I could respond, though, Evan spoke up. “You can just live with me.”
Heath shook his head, stepping forward. “I’ll get you your own place.”

Sarah burst out laughing, enjoying the chaos. “Oh, this is too good.”
I glared at the two of them, my cheeks burning. “Shush,” I said, though I couldn’t help the small smile tugging at my lips. “We’re not moving anywhere yet.”
Sarah grinned, glancing at the two of them. Then, she stood. “Well, it’s pretty late. We still need to fetch Andy from my mom.”
I nodded, standing along with her.
“I’ll take you there,” Evan said immediately.
“I’ll drive,” Heath countered, crossing his arms over his chest.
Sarah laughed out loud, reveling in the absurdity of the situation.

Before the two of them could argue further, Rui cleared his throat, drawing everyone’s attention. “Ah, right, sir. I nearly forgot,” he said. “The amusement park this weekend. How would you invite Julia if she has to work?”

Evan glared at Rui, his jaw tightening. “I haven’t asked her yet,” he deadpanned.
“And you couldn’t have asked when we were alone?” he added through gritted teeth.
Rui pursed his lips and quickly looked away.
My face flushed, so I looked down at my hands, pretending to be fascinated by my nails.
“Well, that sounds fun,” Heath said with a teasing smile. “Why don’t we all go together? I’m sure Mr. Miyagi won’t take up Julia’s entire weekend.”
Sarah clapped. “Yes! Group outing. This is going to be amazing. We can take Andy, too.”
“Ah, yes,” Heath smiled. “I’ve missed that kid.”
“My son,” Evan quickly said.
That’s not what he said,” Heath countered.
I clicked my tongue and went to the two of them, holding onto each of their ears. They exclaimed at the same time, but I didn’t let go.

They looked at me with wide eyes and nodded. I couldn’t help but smile. They looked like puppies being scolded.
“Now,” I said, finally letting go of their ears. “The amusement park sounds nice. Andy has never been to one, and I’m sure he’ll like it,” I smiled, my eyes crinkling in the process.
I looked at the two of them again but noticed they were staring at me with serious glints in their eyes. My smile slowly dropped.
“What?” 1 muttered before looking away. “Is there something on my face?”
