Chapter 70: Everything is Big
JULIA
“Here we are,” Sarah said, pulling up in front of Astoria Grande.
There were multiple cars also dropping off the guests, and theirs looked drastically different than ours. Sarah didn’t care, though. She drove hers with pride.
“You look really pretty, Mommy,” Andy said from the backseat.
“Thank you, bub,” I chuckled. “Sleep after eating with Aunt Sarah, okay? Mommy’s going to be there when you wake up.”
He nodded without any complaints.
“I’ll pick you up,” Sarah said.
“There’s no need for it,” I insisted.
She shook her head. “The times I didn’t pick you up were both troublesome for you. I’ll see you at 10 PM.”
I smiled. “Thanks, Sarah.”
She saluted. “Anytime.”
“Oh, wait!” she exclaimed just before I started walking away. “Your artwork!”
1 stopped in my tracks and quickly turned around, sheepishly smiling as I took it from the back seat.
“You almost forgot what you’re supposed to do in this party,” she said out of amusement.
“Thanks again,” I said.
“Don’t forget it now!” she exclaimed.
And with that, she drove away–quite loudly at that. And it wasn’t because her car was speedy. The engines were just screaming for help.
I shook my head in amusement as I headed inside. From the get–go, I felt other people’s gazes lingering.
My heart raced inside my chest, and I held in the urge to squeal. Some of them were the artists I had admired since I was young.
Although, I didn’t want to ask for a photo now. And, if I would do that, it would solely be for Mr.Miyagi.
I went inside, showing my invitation. My jaw nearly dropped when I
W the scale of the party. It didn’t even look like a hotel! In fact, it looked more like a museum with the artworks of different local and international artists displayed. The area was so wide that I felt it would take days for me to see the entire place!
“Damn,” I muttered. It seemed like it was a blessing to be invited here. This was a haven for artists!
However, as I looked around, I realized that I came here for one thing–to pass my artwork to Mr. Matthews. But I didn’t know where he was, and there were quite a lot of people in the room. I also didn’t have his number, which was expected since it would be weird to have it.
With that, I looked around and found a small room–one that looked unoccupied. I knocked, but no one answered. So, I twisted the door open and found a large lounge. My eyebrows raised in surprise.
“Oh, this is nice,” I muttered. It seemed pretty safe, so I left my artwork on the table before proceeding to the

main hall.
I couldn’t help but feel giddy as I walked around. It had been a while since I felt like this–passionate about the profession I’ve always wanted to have.
I was looking at one of Mr. Miyagi’s artworks when the lights suddenly dimmed. I paused and turned to the staircase, where a large spotlight illuminated the area.
“May we all welcome 2020’s Artist of the Year, who has also been proclaimed as a legendary living artist of our time–Mr. Yoshi Miyagi!” the host exclaimed, and the room burst into cheers. Well, it was a polite cheer since most of the people here were either esteemed artists or socialites.
He looked even better than a person! His long hair was cleanly kept, and his mustache seemed to defy gravity. He wore a traditional male kimono that made him look even more exquisite. My smile widened; however, it quickly dropped when I saw the person trailing behind him.
I pursed my lips and looked away. “What is he doing here?” I muttered.
Evan wore an all–black suit, and his hair was styled down rather than his usual slicked–back one. I felt my breath get caught in the back of my throat. That hairstyle was something he wore a lot when we were still together. However, it seemed like he slicked it back for work.
Yet, this laid–back one made him look a hundred times more handsome in my eyes, or maybe that was the nostalgia talking.
Still, it didn’t make sense why he would be here! It was true that he managed Astoria Grande, as well as their apparel line and chain of restaurants, but I didn’t think I would see him here.
Those beside me gossipped among themselves as Evan led Mr. Miyagi around the room.
“He’s so handsome, isn’t he?” one said, loud enough for me to hear.
“I heard his dick is big, too,” another said, making my eyes go wide.
How would they even know that?
“It really is,” I muttered, but it seemed like I said it loudly as they turned toward my way. But I played it off and looked away. However, these girls were ruthless to someone they didn’t even know.
“Why would they invite a weirdo to this party? I thought this was exclusive.”
“Ah, whatever. Let’s just ignore her.”
“Going back to what you were saying, I think everything about him is a big,” the third girl said, the smile heard in her voice. “He’s rich. He lives in a penthouse. His family is huge, too.”
“But he’s with Heather,” the first girl chimed.
“I think they’re having trouble, though,” one countered.
My eyebrows raised at the thought, and I unconsciously leaned in to hear their conversation better.
“I heard Heather was supposed to walk with Mr. Miyagi and Evan, but she’s not here, is she?”
“I saw her a while ago!”
Oh, I hoped I didn’t run into her if she was truly here.
“They’ve been together for what? Two years? That’s not a lot of time. If they have really broken up, then this is good news for us!”

I shook my head with a smirk. They were brave to think that they had a chance with him. However, when I realized my thoughts, I quickly dispelled them away. What am I even thinking?
“You can totally get with him, Chloe,” one of the girls said to the red–haired one. “Speak with him tonight, especially since Heather seems to be throwing a tantrum.”
“You think so?” Chloe asked.
I couldn’t help but frown. But then, my eyes widened when felt someone behind my back.
“Julia, you’re here.”
