Chapter 77: Make Your Presence Known
JULIA
“What happened?” Sarah asked as soon as I went back to the car with Andy in my arms.
I sighed and rested my head in my hands for a moment. I felt so tired, but I knew I couldn’t stop now.
“I don’t think we should be coming back here anytime soon” I muttered.
Sarah’s eyebrows furrowed, but she didn’t say anything further. “So, where to now? Evan’s house? You know the address, right?”
1 sighed. “Head back to our house,” I said.
“What?” she exclaimed. “We’ve already talked about doing this together.”
“I know,” I muttered. “But Andy can’t be with us. Just go back, Sarah. I’ll take a cab. If it makes you feel better, I’ll contact you to fetch me later.”
Sarah pursed her lips and nodded. With that, she silently drove back to our house.
As she halted the car, she couldn’t help but ask, “Are you sure about this?”
“Hmm,” I hummed, no hesitation left in my heart.
“Alright,” she said in resignation. “Oh, and don’t think about who will take care of Andy during his school days. My mom is in the area because my sister gave birth, too. She wouldn’t mind taking care of Andy.”
I smiled in gratitude. “Thanks, Sarah. I owe you a lot.”
She nodded and waved. “Go now before I end up following you.”
I nodded and went out of the car, hailing a taxi. Fortunately, there was an available one right away.
“Where to, ma’am?” the driver asked as I got in.
“Somzo Hills,” I responded.
His brows furrowed for a second, and he turned around. “This is a gated community, ma’am. I can only drive up until the opening
“It’s alright,” I said.
I arrived in front of the Astor’s mansion. I had to walk for fifteen minutes to get there, but I didn’t care.
At first, I thought of merely speaking with Evan. However, after discovering everything, I needed to talk to Garyn Astor himself and show him I wasn’t scared of his money and power.
“I’m sorry, ma’am. You cannot come in,” the guard said.
Ipursed my lips. Well, this would be the hardest part of the task–getting into the mansion itself.
“I am an acquaintance,” I said, trying to convince him. “In fact, Garyn Astor has been following me around, even nearly trespassing in my apartment and my parents‘ home. If you let me in, it would just be him paying the price,
I smiled.
The guard looked weirded out. Then, he shook his head.

I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair, thinking of another way to get inside without using the gates. I was already thinking of entering through the huge wall in the pack part of their yard when I suddenly heard a familiar voice call my name.
“Julia?”
My eyes widened. “Miss Susan?”
“Oh, it’s really you,” she said, stopping her task of tending to the garden to walk to where I was.
“What are you doing here?” she whispered.
“I came to talk to Garyn,” I said with resolve.
She pursed her lips. “Is it about Mr. Miyagi’s proposal to you?” she asked.
“Wait, how did you know?” I asked.
“Evander is inside,” she said, causing my breath to hitch. “Heather is there,
too.”
“They’ve been discussing it all morning–about how you captured Mr. Miyagi’s attention, and now, he wouldn’t sign the contract until they agree to hire you too.”
A small smirk made its way to my face. “Perfect,” I muttered.
I perked up and looked at her with hopeful eyes. “Then, can you please let me in?”
She thought about it for a while before nodding. She then turned to the guard, who was confused by our closeness.
“You know her?” the guard asked.
Miss Susan smiled and nodded. “She’s been in this mansion more times than

The guard scratched the back of his head in confusion.
“Let her in,” Miss Susan said. “I’ll take responsibility if you get scolded.”
The guard still hesitated but nodded in the end. “I won’t lose my job, alright?”
“You won’t,” Miss Susan assured.
With that, he opened the gate and let me in. I bowed at him as thanks and followed after Miss Susan. She led me to the front door and even opened it.
“Living room,” she said.
I nodded. “Thank you, Miss Susan,” I muttered. “You’re a great help.”
Susan smiled. “I have a gist of what’s happening, and I don’t like how Garyn thinks he can take your son away from you. So, show them, Julia. I’ll be rooting for you.”
I gave her a determined smile and walked to the living room with my head held high.
Even from afar, I could already hear their conversation.
“What did Mr. Miyagi even see in her?” I heard Heather ask

His statement made me stop for a moment, and a small smile made its way to my lips.
I heard Garyn sigh deeply. “This is awful for my pride,” he said. “The biggest collaboration is in our hands, the key is Julia. She wouldn’t even let the Astors have your son.”
“Dad, can you please leave Andy out of this? I’ll talk to Julia and-”

Before Evan could even finish his statement, I walked in, making sure my presence was known as soon as I arrived.
Their conversation came to a halt, and they all looked at me with wide eyes.
