Chapter 86: Unrevealed Past
EVANDER
Ellie was definitely the mastermind of this. She was giggling at the side while some of the other parents watched giddily.
“Come on, Julia,” Ellie said, chiming in. “Choose one.”
Julia stared at the three plushies. They were different kinds.
Carson was holding out an octopus one. Heath had a car plushie, while I had a rose. I couldn’t lie. I was really nervous. I felt like she was choosing something more than plushies.
Meanwhile, Julia pursed her lips and pointed at Carson’s daughter.
“I think she’ll like it more than I would,” she said. Carson cleared his throat and turned to his daughter. It was true that she appeared to want it, so Carson smiled and went away.
And then, there were two. Andy was looking at Heath’s plushie, and I felt a pang in my chest.
“Do you want this, bub?” Julia softly asked.
He slowly nodded. “But it’s okay,” he muttered. “It’s not mine.”
Heath cleared his throat and kneeled down to his level. “Of course, you can have it, little one,” he said, handing him the plushie. Andy took it with sparkling eyes.
“You can keep that one,” Julia said to me, and my chest began hurting more. Heath smirked as Andy smiled at him.
I missed that smile. He used to look at me that way.
“Do you like cars?” Heath softly asked. Andy nodded with a wde grin.
“Well, this uncle has plenty of cars. Want me to show you?
Andy excitedly nodded once more.
“Alright. I’ll talk to your mommy, and I can both take you out on a ride,” Heath said.
Andy’s eyes appeared like they were filled with stars.
I had to look away because it was too much to bear. It felt like every mistake I’ve made was coming back to me. I felt Julia’s gaze, and I tried to smile. However, I was sure it didn’t reach my eyes.
Meanwhile, Heath stood once more and looked at the two of us. The smirk on his face hadn’t left since he came,
“What are you even doing here?” Julia asked.
“Ellie asked me to come,” he said. “She told me there would be something fun here. She didn’t lie,” he chuckled, staring at Julia.
Meanwhile, I observed him. I knew that look. He was definitely interested in Julia.
Julia looked at the two of us before tilting her head to the side. She looked so cute like this that it made race even faster in my chest.
“Wait, you’ve never told me how you two were acquainted.”

Heath and I turned to each other. I was about to respond when Ellie called for me.
“Bro,” she said. “Can I talk to you for a second?”
I sighed and nodded, giving one last glance to Heath, Julia, and Andy as I followed after her.
It was only supposed to be a glance. However, my gaze lingered. Andy was between them, playing with the car plushie that Heath gave him.
Heath appeared to be teasing Julia while the latter rolled her eyes. From where I was standing, they appeared to be a cute little family.
“You see it now,” Ellie said, snapping me out of my thoughts.
“Hmm,” I hummed, turning to her.
“I told you back then that you should have listened to her, she started off. “I knew you were hurt because of what happened, but you should know that Julia wouldn’t do something like that. She had spent so much time loving you, and you let her go just like that.”
“I know,” I muttered. “I’m trying to make it right.”
“I see that,” she said. “I even heard that you’re trying to buy more shares for Astor.”
I nodded, placing my hands inside my pockets. “That’s the only way I can become more powerful than dad.”
“I’m proud of you, bro,” Ellie said, making my heart soften
“However, you still have a long way to go,” she continued, also staring at the three of them. “And I don’t think. it’s going to be easy.”
“I hope you aren’t too late.”
JULIA
“Seriously, you came all the way here just because Ellie told you to?” I asked.
Heath nodded. “Yeah,” he said. “I was getting bored in my office.”
“It must be nice to have your own schedule,” I said with narrowed eyes. “I had to miss class for this one.”
Heath chuckled in amusement.
“Anyway,” I continued. “You still haven’t answered my question. What’s your relationship with Evan and Ellie?”
“Evan, huh?” he muttered. “I don’t hear that often.”
My cheeks warmed up. Well, it was a nickname that only I had for him.
He then cleared his throat and turned to the side. “I’m not ready to answer that, honestly.”
My brows furrowed. “Well, you must be close if you came running here.”
“Ellie isn’t the reason why I came here,” he said.
My frown deepened. “What do you mean?” I asked.
His gaze softened, and there was a bit of regret in them. I was getting more confused by the second.

“You’re so oblivious,” he chuckled, shaking his head. “I came here for you.”
1 scoffed in disbelief. “You want me to believe that? We’ve met what? A total of four times? And for the first three, we didn’t even know each other.”
“That’s what you think,” he muttered.
STER!
He then sighed and looked into my eyes. For some reason, he felt familiar. However, I didn’t know why because I was sure I hadn’t met him before prior this year.
“For you, that was our first meeting,” he continued.
“However, I’ve known you for a long time, Julia,” he said. I just wasn’t sure when we met again, but it’s true.
“Huh?” I asked.
“Much longer than you imagine.”
