The parade floats and puppets bounced and jumped out, and the magnificent and cool lead car gradually drove away.

“She still preferred sitting in the back seat,” she said, as she closed the car door.
Trevor sat in the driver’s seat, but he didn’t start the engine for a long time.
As he watched the woman in the rearview mirror closing her eyes and dozing off, his growing unease became increasingly chaotic.
“Jocelynn, during the parade today, everyone was cheering and I couldn’t resist kissing Miranda. Can you please not be angry?”
His tone carried a mixture of five parts guilt and five parts entitlement as if Jocelynn being angry was somehow unreasonable.
Jocelynn felt a chill in her heart, and her anger was frozen by the glacier, leaving her with no strength to even collapse, only wanting to go home.

Seeing her exhausted face, Trevor swallowed back the words he wanted to explain.
He placed his phone on the stand and was about to open the navigation to check the traffic conditions on the highway back to South City when he received a new message on WhatsApp.
“Senior, Jocelynn disappeared after the float parade today. Could it be that she saw us kissing and started overthinking, getting angry,
and leaving first?”
Trevor tapped the screen to reply to the message.
“She had been waiting for me all the time and didn’t leave.”
