Chapter 5
Iran and ran, until I sat on a chair in the park and cried.
The old man selling sweet potatoes suddenly stopped beside me and handed me a warm sweet
potato.
“Miss, why are you crying? You were not like this before.”
I was stunned and looked up at
him.
It was then that I realized he was the old man who used to sell sweet potatoes at the entrance of my
university when I was a student.
Back then, Oliver and I used to take care of his business regularly.
Every time, I would jump onto Oliver’s back, playfully wrestle with him, while the old man picked
two big sweet potatoes for us.
The old man would always say, “You’re just like a mischievous monkey, but it’s also good because
you won’t be sad about anything.”
Back then, I was carefree and really didn’t get sad about anything.
“I”
I held the sweet potato and cried uncontrollably.
At this moment, Oliver had already caught up with me and he embraced me tightly.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
The old man selling sweet potatoes sighed.
“Even after so many years, the perspective remains the same.”
Then he left.
I struggled hard, trying to break free from Oliver.
He immediately knelt down and gave himself a hard slap.
“I’m sorry, I was just being impulsive earlier, Emilia. Can you forgive me?”
Tears fell “pitter–patter” from my eyes, and suddenly everything went black before me, and I
fainted.
When I opened my eyes again, I was in the hospital.
Oliver grabbed my hand ecstatically.

“Emilia, you had our child, that’s great.”
was completely stunned.
The child…
The day Oliver came back, we not only ate fondue but also drank wine. The next day, when I woke
up, I was in the hotel.
I had that one encounter with him, and unexpectedly, I fell for it.
“Emilia, shall we go and get married tomorrow? I will give you a home.”
He excitedly kissed my forehead, but the next second a scream suddenly came from outside.
Ah, someone committed suicide!”
“She was Dr. Graham’s friend, go find Dr. Graham quickly.”
Oliver froze instantly.
“Ariel…
He murmured in his mouth and then stood up to leave.
I shouted at him, “Oliver, if you leave, we will be completely over.”
He paused for a moment and said, “I was a doctor, I had to go.”
At that moment, my heart was completely broken.
Five attempts at remarriage were unsuccessful.
Now I was pregnant, and he was also going to abandon me to find her.
I couldn’t bear it anymore!
