Chapter 8
Alexander was worried that I would be upset because of these annoying people and things, so he deliberately set aside a lot of time to take me around and relax.
He was always worried that I would be sad.
I just lowered my gaze and hid in his embrace, “It’s not that I’m sad, just feeling regretful, having once loved something like this, wasting precious time.”
He held me tightly and kissed my forehead gently, saying, “It’s okay, I’m here. In the future, I will personally fill your life with all the joy.”
On the evening of my birthday, Alexander booked the garden restaurant in the city square. I thought he was just planning a simple birthday celebration for me.
To my surprise, the words “Aileen, will you marry me?” suddenly appeared on the display screen of the building across the river.
Hundreds of drones danced in the sky, taking turns to form various symbols of love such as hearts,
rings, and Cupid’s arrows.
Alexander held the ring and knelt down on one knee in front of me.
His friends all emerged from hidden corners, clapping their hands.
Alexander took a deep breath and looked at me earnestly, saying, “Aileen, our previous engagement was actually a commitment made by our families. Today, I want to ask you something in my personal capacity as Alexander.”
“Ms. Aileen, would you marry me?”
Tears welled up in my eyes as I nodded firmly, “I am willing, Mr. Alexander.”
I reached out my hand, and Alexander put the ring on for me.
Under the starry sky and amidst the blessings of our friends, we passionately embraced, our ey
filled with each other.
The day for me and Alexander to officially hold our wedding quickly arrived.
The wedding was grand in scale, and the venue was decorated according to my preferences. Alexander even specially hired someone to rush the reproduction of the wedding dress according to
my ideas.
My wedding, under Alexander’s management, had absolutely no room for any regrets.
When it came time to exchange rings, Martin, who should have been at home recuperating from a serious injury, suddenly burst into the scene.
“Alleen! You couldn’t marry him!”
Drake became furious and immediately ordered his bodyguards to restrain Martin, pointing at him. and angrily rebuking, “You traitor! On Alexander’s joyous day, what are you doing here causing trouble!”
“If you don’t step down any further, you might as well quit the position of the President of the Gibson Group!”
In the face of Drake’s reprimand, Martin stood up to him for the first time, “I won’t do it if I don’t want to! I don’t care about the position of CEO! I only want Aileen!”
“Aileen, you may not believe it, but in my past life, you married me!”
“We supported each other, till death do us part! That should have been our ending, but now everything is wrong!”
“You came back to me, and what Alexander could give you, I will be able to give you after working hard for a few years!”
If it weren’t for me being reborn, if it were the old me, I would probably have believed his nonsense.
I didn’t understand why Martin was so entangled with me in this life. Could it be that he really woke up and realized that he loved me, and now regrets it?
matter what the answer was, it had already ceased to be important to me.
Unfortunately, no n
I stared at him and said word by word, “Martin, your thoughts are simply irrelevant to me now.”
“If you’re still not clear, then let me make it clear to you. I, Aileen, loved Alexander, and I will only- love him in this lifetime.”
“In the future, I will treat you like Alexander, considering you as my nephew, and I hope you will respect me when you see me!”
After speaking, I turned around and exchanged rings with Alexander.
In front of Martin, I took the initiative to kiss Alexander’s lips, leaving the mark of my lifelong
promise.
Martin stared at us with his mouth wide open, unable to say a word. The wound had already split open due to his violent movements, and he collapsed to the ground, completely losing blood.
