Chapter 12
Zander’s last glimmer of hope was completely shattered by the numerous and stringent clauses in
the contract.
Anger flooded into his pupils like a river overflowing, almost overwhelming him.
With a snap, the contract shattered in his hands.
In Ruby’s perspective, her child has always been calm and composed.
Just because Elianna indulged once.
This was the second time he had been so angry with others.
Ruby hesitated to speak, and ultimately swallowed her words back.
Zander took a few deep breaths before calming down.
Since Joyce signed the agreement, Ruby must be aware of her departure.
He looked up at Ruby, his eyes revealing a hint of anticipation.
“Mom, you should know where Joyce went, right?”
Ruby stared at her for a long time. She should have known, after all, it was she who took care of all the affairs when Joyce left.
However, Joyce had initially requested Ruby to keep her whereabouts a secret.
So, she looked at her son with a troubled expression and said, “I’m sorry, son, I can’t tell you about
this.”
“Besides,” Ruby sighed sadly, “even if I told you, it would be of no use.”
Joyce may have also anticipated such a moment, knowing that she was ultimately Zander’s mother
and would surely reveal it to him.
Therefore, Joyce never went to the country she had planned to further her studies.
Zander’s eyes were instantly filled with disappointment.
He never expected that Joyce’s departure would be so decisive, just like how she had suddenly burst
into his world back then.
However, Ruby, apart from feeling a slight sadness, did not show any other emotions and simply tried to ask a question.
So, what happened between you and Elianna…”
The sharp bell suddenly rang.

In the moment of connection, Shayla said anxiously.
Zander, come home quickly! Something has happened!”
As soon as Zander got home, he saw several foreigners standing at the door, with the leading man coldly staring at the crying Elianna.
He immediately recognized that it was Elianna’s ex–husband.
Zander walked briskly over, while Shayla waved at him.
“Zander, come here quickly!”
As soon as she called, everyone’s gaze turned towards him, especially Elianna’s ex–husband, who carefully scrutinized him. The pressure in his eyes made Zander feel a tremor in his heart.
He approached Elianna, facing her.
“Mr. Baker visited the Norton family. Was there something important?”
Chaim Baker coldly glanced at him, a hint of mocking smile curling at the corner of his mouth.
“Why I came here, Mr. Norton, isn’t it clear to you? I spent five years with Elianna, while you were constantly entangled with her. We have reached this point, thanks to your ‘help‘.”
Zander was puzzled. He went abroad once a week to secretly visit Elianna, thinking he was being very discreet.
Chaim looked at him as if he were a fool.
Chaim and Elianna, although they got married quickly, were truly in love at first.
After taking over the family business, he was busy reorganizing and started neglecting Elianna.
He wanted to explain to her, but he was always interrupted by phone calls.
During that period, Elianna suddenly found herself surrounded by many small gifts that she had never seen before in Fallcrest.
After checking the surveillance footage, he realized that it was actually Zander who had secretly placed these gifts in front of his house.
An indescribable anger churned in his chest.
He threw all those gifts in front of Elianna and had numerous intense arguments with her.
In the end, Elianna secretly divorced him and returned to her home country.
Chaim stared at the person in front of him, his tone filled with sarcasm.
“Mr. Norton was really well–mannered, having a family of his own, yet still finding time to care

about someone else’s wife.”
This sentence instantly made Zander’s face turn pale.
“I got divorced.”
Elianna immediately looked up, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes.
