The jewelry in Alberto’s other hand suddenly fell to the ground, making a crisp cracking sound.
His voice carried disbelief as he said, “What are you talking about?”
The secretary looked a bit strange and said, “Mr. Mendoza, the lady waited for you to have dinner from noon until evening. Then she said you were too busy and left on a plane first…”
