Chapter 8
When I was in Sea City, Jaden was always keeping an eye on me.
He even visited Sea City several times.
Just to catch a glimpse of me from afar.
After being moved, I still managed to explain everything about my past Eddie to him.
Jaden, however, said earnestly, “I don’t mind your past, Kylie. I just want you.”
“What I loved was you as a person, not the labels and accolades that society attached to you.”
I looked at his face and felt particularly moved.
The first time, I voluntarily tiptoed and kissed his lips.
“Jaden, thank you.”
“After marrying you, I would strive to be a good wife.”
The wedding date approached in the blink of an eye.
**
Jaden had someone especially tailor–made a wedding dress for me and sent it over.
Just when I went to personally pick up my wedding photos, Eddie found me again.
“Kylie.”
“I knew you were about to get married, but there are some things I feel I must clarify with you.”
Eddie grabbed my arm, his face filled with pleading.
His eyes were full of bloodshot veins, indicating that he hadn’t had a good sleep for a long time.
I admit that I softened my heart again.
“You said it.”
We found a café, and Eddie sat across from me, talking about some things from the past that I didn’t know about.
That night, after getting drunk, we spent the whole night entwined. Eddie did not completely lose his sanity.
“I didn’t see you as Arabella or Kylie, that night I always knew clearly, that person was you.”
He pinned me down.
Whispering my name unclearly.

His kisses fell delicately and closely on me.
The scorching breath reminded me of still blushing. I instinctively spoke, “All of that is already in the past. If there’s nothing else to say, I’ll leave first.”
Eddie stopped me.
He continued to speak.
I lost my sense of proportion because I couldn’t control my overwhelming love at that time.
After waking up, he faced my confession and just felt embarrassed to face me because he thought
he was too old.
So he stayed alone for three months. He did not live with Arabella.
The words I said in front of my friends back then were also for the sake of my reputation.
He didn’t want those people to talk about me like that.
He considered for a full three months.
Finally, he decided to take that step proactively.
That’s why he suggested going to the party with me.
“Kylie, back then I gathered the courage to have a fresh start with you.”
His lips tightened, and he hesitated before looking at me.
“At that party, I did not ask Arabella to help me with the antidote.”
I put down my coffee and didn’t hear clearly, “What did you say?”
Eddie stared at me intently.
“Kylie, I didn’t touch Arabella.”
“After returning that day, I soaked in cold water in the bathtub for two hours.”
“I was just teasing you, and you left me there all alone.”
“Later, I brought Arabella home, but it was only out of spite.”
“I just didn’t expect… that this one time of being stubborn, I would lose you.”
Eddie’s voice was hoarse.
The tone is full of regret. However, I finished a cup of coffee and spoke expressionlessly.
“Perhaps this is just how fate works between people.”

“Eddie, it was fate that brought us together but kept us apart.”
Tomorrow is my wedding day. If you want to come and attend, I will have someone reserve a seat
for you.”
After saying that, I picked up my bag and left.
I was about to walk out the door when I heard Eddie’s voice softly sound.
“Kylie, I wish you a happy marriage.”
I smiled slightly and walked away.
Never looked back again.
