Chapter 9
On the day of the wedding.
The guests at the scene all came to attend the wedding and gave us their blessings.
Meadow was laughing heartily while receiving the cash gifts.
I thought Eddie would come.
Eddie did not show up from beginning to end until the wedding was over.
Just as it was about to end, Arabella appeared at the wedding venue holding the invitation.
“What an enviable couple they were!”
Arabella appeared mysteriously at the wedding stage, and it was evident that she was not there to
offer me blessings.
But it was intentional mischief.
“Ms. Hodge, once you have arrived, you are a guest. Please take a seat.”
She snatched the microphone from my hand and approached me with a cold smirk on her face.
“Kylie, did you think that by marrying someone else, you could wash away the things you did in the past?”
“You forgot gratitude and loyalty, and even tried to seduce my uncle who took care of you for six years, stealing my boyfriend!”
“Do you think that getting married means all these things never happened?”
I looked up at her angrily, “Arabella, spreading rumors and slandering is illegal.”
The guests below witnessed this scene and were already discussing, “Is it real or fake?”
“Who is this woman? She seems to know the newcomer. Could it be that what she said is true?”
“She doesn’t look like it, the bride appears to be obedient and well–behaved, not quite like the
person she described…”
Before I could retaliate.
Jaden protected me by standing behind me.
“Bodyguard, throw this woman who spreads rumors and causes trouble out. Also, contact a lawyer to sue her for defaming my wife.”
Jaden clarified for me without hesitation.

“The lady just now was abandoned by a man, so she deliberately sought revenge.”
Jaden quickly resolved the chaos on the scene with just a few words.
He gently embraced me and said, “Kylie, don’t be afraid.”
“As long as I was there, no one could bully you.” Our wedding was live–streamed for three days on the big screen in the center of Cloud City.
Everyone knew that the Jenkins Group’s young lady was Kylie.
However, I didn’t care about these things.
Only the quiet and leisurely life after marriage made me feel like life was a fresh start.
I haven’t seen Arabella since she left after the wedding that day.
According to Jaden, she sought revenge on me because she was kicked out by Eddie.
Three months later.
I received a phone call from the nanny’s aunt.
“Kylie, Mr. took care of you for six years, and now he is very ill, but he only wants to see you.”
“Can you come back and take a look at him?”
I hesitated for a long time. Jaden held my hand and said, “Let’s go back. If we don’t go, you might
have regrets.”
“Kylie, if necessary, I could accompany you back.”
I was deeply moved.
Three days later, Jaden and I arrived at Sea City.
I saw Eddie lying on the hospital bed.
After he rejected Arabella’s proposal, Arabella sought revenge and poisoned his food.
Arabella had been arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment.
And Eddie, no matter how many famous doctors he went to see, still couldn’t recover to his original

His body suffered irreversible damage caused by poison, with multiple organ failures.
“Kylie, I was very happy to see you again.”
“I am so sorry, Kylie. I wish you happiness…”

Eddie’s hand went limp. His eyes closed forever.
Jaden and I stayed in Sea City and helped him organize a funeral.
I was happy.
Eddie, goodbye.
