After the miscarriage, I accidentally overheard Darnell Guzman saying to the doctor, “Find an opportunity to drug my wife and then cut her uterus so that she can never get pregnant again in her
life.”
He then placed his large hand on another woman’s belly and ordered, “Provide her with the best
prenatal care plan. I want her child to become the heir of Guzman Entertainment.”
I knew this woman, she was a host at Guzman Entertainment. I heard him sternly instruct the
doctor, “Also, make sure to rehabilitate my wife properly. If this surgery leaves her with any lingering illness, none of you will escape.‘
My heart trembled, I never expected that the man who loved me so much would also cheat.
So, I left, leaving behind a divorce agreement, fulfilling their love.

On the way back to the ward, I was completely dazed, with the scene I had just witnessed playing
over and over in my mind.
My husband, who used to consider me as his precious gem, loved me to the core, but behind my back, he had an affair with another woman, which led to the removal of my uterus.
But he knew that what I wanted most was a child.
The passing nurse cast an envious glance at me and said, “Her husband, in order not to disturb her rest, directly rented this floor of the ward and arranged for a professional nurse to take care of her daily life. And that’s not all, he also stays by her side 24 hours a day. Her husband loves her too
much.”
“When she had a miscarriage and started bleeding, her husband’s eyes were swollen from crying. I have never seen a man care so much about his wife. I heard that they went from being campus sweethearts to getting married. To marry her, her husband transferred the entire family business
under her name.”
If it were in the past, I would have felt very happy to hear such words.
But now, there seemed to be a fly stuck in the throat, making one feel nauseous.
At that moment, Darnell’s furious voice came from the nearby ward, “A bunch of useless people.
You can’t even take care of one person. If anything happens to Kyra, I’ll kill all of you!”
Darnell rarely got angry, the last time he got angry was because I fell seriously ill. We went to all the hospitals but couldn’t find a cure. He was so desperate that he almost smashed the hospital, and even considered a suicide pact with me in the end.
I watched the bulging veins on his forehead, but I couldn’t feel the same emotion as before. I calmly

said, “Darnell, I’m here.” As soon as he saw me, Darnell’s eyes lit up instantly, and he hurriedly ran foyer to embrace me.
“Kyra, where did you go? You didn’t even tell me. I thought something happened to you.”
The man’s voice trembled with fear, and there was not a trace of insincerity.
I pushed him aside without a word, “The ward is too stuffy. I’m going out for some fresh air.”
He finally breathed a sigh of relief, but he didn’t loosen his grip on my hand at all.
Afterward, he took the bowl of medicine from the nurse’s hand and gently fed it to me, saying, “Darling, it’s time to take your medicine.”
I looked at the brownish liquid in the bowl, feeling a chill down my spine, with my mind filled with the scene I had just witnessed.
“This medicine is bitter. I don’t want to drink it.”
In the past, Darnell never refused my requests, but this time he unusually insisted on his stance, you don’t take the medicine, your body won’t get better, and you won’t be able to conceive a baby. Haven’t you always wanted to have a baby with me?”

child as a lure.
But I no longer trusted him and immediately knocked over his bowl of medicine.
“I said I didn’t drink.”
Darnell’s gentle face stiffened for a moment, a hint of displeasure flickering in his eyes.
I thought that taking the medicine would help me escape from danger, but the next second everything went black and I lost consciousness.
When I woke up again, it was already the next morning.
A sense of foreboding surged up in my heart, and as I lifted the blanket to take a look, there was indeed a surgical scar on my stomach.
My world collapsed in an instant, and I wanted to question Darnell, but I heard him explain, “Honey, you suddenly fainted last night, and after the doctor examined you, they found that your
uterus had cancerous changes, so I had them remove your uterus.”
Afraid that I wouldn’t believe him, he even showed me the test report, which indeed stated that I had cervical cancer.
I hadn’t seen him instructing the doctor with my own eyes, I would have probably been deceived
by him.

Looking at the hideous scars on my stomach, my heart felt as if it had been forcefully torn in half, leaving only infinite despair.
Darnell tenderly embraced me and comforted me, “Darling, I know you have always wanted a child, but your health is important. I don’t want anything to happen to you. We can always adopt a child in
the future if necessary.”
