Chapter 7
At first, I was not accustomed to the humid sea breeze and intense sunlight of this city, as well as the overly enthusiastic people.
Several new girls were recruited in the company, and they found out that I was the only one who
knew how to windsurf. They insisted on dragging me to the beach to play windsure who
1, who used to stay indoors all year round, gradually fell in love with outdoor sports, and my skin also became slightly darker.
I helped the people in this small city design new homes, design kindergartens… Watching them gradually build their lives, the emptiness in my heart was slowly filled.
One day, Fiona Sherman from the company mysteriously pulled me aside and said, “Ms. Hensley, my little uncle is going to design a children’s Art Museum. Shall we meet tonight? Have a meal?”
I looked at her suspiciously and said, “It’s a good idea for older people to have the idea of building an Art Museum. You should make an appointment.”
Fiona burst into laughter.
I didn’t know why Fiona was laughing until we sat at the dinner table.
Her “little uncle” looked only a few years older than her, with broad shoulders, long legs, and a handsome appearance.
After he came in and sat down, the waiter who was carrying the tray kept going in and out several
times.
I turned my head to the side and sneakily glanced.
He was calmly and indifferently leaning against the back of the chair, with a high and straight nose bridge, delicate eyebrows and eyes, resembling a certain popular male actor.
Suddenly, he looked over and his deep gaze collided with mine.
I panicked for no reason and quickly lowered my head to take a sip of water. Fiona enthusiastically. nudged me and winked, “Uncle, this is Ms. Hensley from our company. She’s amazing, I heard she majored in architecture at Welch University.”
“Ms. Hensley, this is my younger uncle, Darnell, who was single and wealthy.”
Darnell Sherman clenched his right hand into a fist and coughed lightly near his lips.
“My family is grateful to you for taking care of Fiona most of the time. She has been spoiled at Jome, so it’s good to make her work and not let her act recklessly all the time. Sometimes she speaks bluntly, so please be more understanding.”
I nodded, “She was lively in personality and worked very diligently and responsibly.”
Darnell’s handsome face displayed a smile, “That’s good. The family was worried she would get
into trouble.”
“By the way, I planned to build an Art Museum for children with autism. Fiona said you are very talented, so she asked me to come to you for the design.”
“Did you want to?”
Somewhere in my heart, there was a slight touch, and my expression turned serious: “My parents also wanted to build an Art Museum for the children of the stars before they passed away, but I kept postponing it. Now that you have such an idea, of course, I am willing.”
“Mr. Sherman, I can do this design project for you for free, as long as you can guarantee sufficient
investment for the future.”
Darnell looked at me deeply and said firmly, “Okay.”
On the day Star Art Museum started construction, a grand groundbreaking ceremony was held.
I clasped my hands together and rambled on to my parents in the sky.
When I opened my eyes, I found Darnell standing by my side, with a handsome face and a warm
smile.
The heartbeat skipped a beat for no reason.
Throughout the entire hot summer, I ran to the construction site and monitored the progress of the
Art Museum every day.
I got even darker, became thinner, and also became healthier.
Darnell said he felt a little guilty and always used the excuse of treating me to different places to
eat.
For a while, I came across news about Alberto and Lexie online again.
After Lexie had a miscarriage, she had many arguments with Layton because of the rumors online, and they eventually got divorced.
Alberto did not be with Lexie, instead he wanted to leave everything behind and look for me
everywhere, and he was severely beaten by the old man.
When the maple leaves turned red in autumn, the Star Art Museum was completed and officially opened.
had waited for this Art Museum for too long. In the past, in order to be a good Mrs. Mendoza and not to spend Alberto’s money recklessly, I kept this desire hidden deep in my computer, but Alberto
took it to please Lexie.
During the construction, the budget exceeded, and I anxiously looked for Darnell. However, he
said! as long as the result was good, there was no need to worry about money as he had plenty of it.
He not only invested 10 million in the Art Museum, but also donated ten times the amount to the
Children From Star Charity Foundation.
At the moment the museum opened, I was incredibly excited and instinctively opened my arms to
embrace Darnell in celebration.
When I realized what was happening, this embrace had already gone too far, and I awkwardly wanted to quickly let go of my hand.
Darnell gently hugged me back.
The faint scent of grass and wood emanating from his body made me temporarily forget my
struggles.
“Frida!” came a furious voice from behind.
