* Chapter 13
Lucas’s smile froze on his face.
He sighed and said, “I know how much I have hurt you, it’s okay Helen. You waited for me before, this time it’s my turn to wait for you,”
“I would not give up.”
I felt so disgusted that I decided to take one last look at Judith and leave.
The sound of high heels could be heard from behind, followed by an angry voice.
“Lucas, did you break up with me just to get back together with her?” I turned around, and to my surprise, Kelly was there.
Lucas raised his eyebrows and asked, “How did you come here?”
Kelly’s voice choked, “Lucas, were you planning to run away once you were done playing with me?”
“I told you it was impossible!”
“I also told you, we were done,” Lucas changed his gentle demeanor from back then, looking bored.
“Isn’t the favor I gave you enough? It is impossible for me to divorce Helen and marry you. Give up
on this idea!”
Kelly stared at Lucas with a fixed gaze, tears streaming down her face. “Lucas, I was pregnant.”
“That’s it, then.” Lucas remained completely unfazed.
“I had a wife; I didn’t need someone else to give birth to an illegitimate child for me.”
Kelly took a step back in disbelief, tears streaming down her face. She never expected this person,
who had once been so close to her, to suddenly turn against her and be so heartless.
I watched coldly and did not find it surprising.
Lucas was essentially selfish as a person. In reality, he didn’t love me or Kelly. He only loved
himself.
Even my partner of ten years, who I have been together with for a long time, could easily abandon
me, let alone Kelly, who we have only been together for less than a year.
Just when I thought Kelly would leave sadly, she clenched her teeth tightly and suddenly pushed
open the door of the ward with force!
“Bang!”
Judith woke up, and Kelly rushed in!

She suddenly pounced in front of Judith’s bed, pointing at me and said, “Judith, Lucas and she have already divorced, now I am your daughter–in–law!”
“Lucas is going to leave me, Judith, please help me. Can you talk to him and persuade him? I am already carrying his child in my stomach!”
She pulled out an ultrasound image from her bag and held it up to her grandmother’s face, saying, “Look, Judith, he might be a boy. This is the great–grandchild of the Krueger family!”
Judith frowned tightly as she was shaken by her. She trembled and pointed her finger at Lucas, as if she wanted to say something.
Kelly choked back tears and said, “Judith, please persuade Lucas. This is his child; how could he have the heart to abort his own child?”
Judith’s face turned red, and I could tell something was wrong. I went up to her and pulled her, saying, “Kelly, let go!”
Judith’s hand froze in mid–air, and she stared at Lucas with a fixed gaze. The color drained from her face, eventually turning pale gray.
That hand suddenly fell down and became still.
Everyone was shocked by this scene, and after a moment, I shouted, “Doctor! Doctor!”
***
Judith passed away.
The doctor said that she was already at the end of her life, and if she took good care of herself, she. might be able to hold on for a few more days. But now, with her heart overwhelmed by anxiety, she couldn’t hold on any longer.

Kelly seemed to be taken aback by the unexpected turn of events, standing frozen in the corner.
She probably just wanted Judith to value blood ties and wanted Judith to persuade Lucas a few
words.
She timidly approached and tugged at Lucas, “Lucas, I…”
Lucas turned around, and the air in the room seemed to freeze. His eyes and eyebrows twitched with ferocity, and I had never seen him look so terrifying.
: “Snap-”
With no force behind it, this slap sent Kelly flying half a meter away, and she landed heavily on the ground, her mouth corner splitting open and blood oozing out.
She covered her face and stared blankly at Lucas.

Lucas’s voice was icy. “Get lost!”
However, Lucas’s father also came over, his eyes red, and he fiercely kicked Lucas.
“It was all you who caused these things! We couldn’t continue living a good life and you had to mess around outside!”
“You even caused trouble in front of your grandmother, and she was literally driven to death by your anger!”
This fierce farce did not end until the evening. Lucas’s father insisted on killing Lucas, and Kelly went up to protect him.
Lucas made Kelly leave again, and Kelly cried because she still had Lucas’s own flesh and blood in her belly.
I was really tired, so I left first.
No matter what the outcome was, it had nothing to do with me anymore.
I just saddened Judith, this kind old lady who had been benevolent all her life, and she didn’t leave peacefully.
