The next morning when I got up, Beckett had actually made breakfast.
After eating, he didn’t go out on his own.
I ignored him and picked up the pen on the table, solemnly making another mark.
How wonderful, just one more day.
At 6 AM tomorrow morning, I could leave this place.
Beckett watched me marking reverently and smiled: “Don’t worry, the marriage license application should be approved soon.”
I didn’t look at him and started clearing the dishes: “Why haven’t you left yet today?”
Beckett smiled at me: “I was thinking since we’re about to get married, I should take you to buy some clothes.”
I paused in clearing the dishes.
His words reminded me.
I was about to go to university. I should buy a couple of new outfits to start my new life.
I went back to my room to get money.
Seeing that I didn’t refuse, Beckett instinctively let out a sigh of relief this time.
