Chapter 23
⠀⠀⠀ Sheila’s eyes lit up. She asked hopefully, “Mom, what kind of dowry are you going to prepare for me?”
“Once we go back, tell your dad that you want to intern at Luminova. With your uncle’s help, you should gradually take control of the company. III tell your dad to transfer Lindsey’s shares to you, as your dowry,” Olivia was carefully plotting
Sheila was a bit womed. “Transferring shares is such a big deal. Will Dad agree!”
Olivia said, “So you have to win his favor. Besides, you need to find a husband from a wealthy family, so that it seems reasonable when I ask your dad for those shares.
Men’s punte familiar with Jayden before!”
“I think it would be quite good if you married into the Parker family. Weren’t you quite
Sheila’s face turned a little red. I’m not that familiar with him. But I’ll do my best to make it happen.
Olivia patted Sheila’s hand. “It’s not about doing your best, it’s about you must get ix”
As they were talking, more and more people had entered the exhibition hall.
The first row was for the judges, and the second, third, and fourth rows were for staff from major famous jewelers and magazines. This was the main reason Sheila was participating in this competition.
As long as she could win an award, she would be famous in this circle. If she was lucky enough to be spotted by one of the companies and signed a long–term contract, she would become an overnight servation
“Sheila, when your design is presented later, you will go on stage too, right?” Olivia asked with a smile.
“Of course. The judges will ask questions about the works they are interested in, and then the designers will go up to explain. If the judges are satisfied, they can also continue to communicate with the designers about subsequent signing matters,” Sheila said.
Sheila even imagined herself standing on the stage and talking confidently. Although she had found a design draft in the courtyard, the draft was not perfect, so she added some of her own ideas to it.
Even if the original author of the design draft came, they couldn’t accuse her of plagiarism
When she first found the design draft, she couldn’t help but exclaim in admiration. Even though it was just a half–finished product, the outline, ideas, and creativity of the design were all impressive mougli
She had thought about just drawing inspiration from it, but no matter how she created, her work seemed less brilliant than the original design draft
After much hesitation, Sheila decided to use the design draft directly. She felt that doing so would definitely add a lot of points for herself.
Lindsey arrived very late, and she came in when the opening ceremony performance was almost over. Since she was participating anonymously and didn’t need to go on stage later, she sat down directly in the last row.
Olivia and Sheila were in the fifth row, and Lindsey spotted them at a glance. The two were chatting and laughing about something. She wasn’t in the mood to pay attention to them and quickly shifted her gaze away.
The presentation of the first piece had already begun on the stage. Lindsey watched carefully
To be honest, she thought the work was quite ordinary. Both the design and the craftsmanship could only be considered mediocre, with nothing particularly outstanding
Sure enough, the judges overall score was
only 62, just a pastime
62, just a passing level.
For each subsequent piece that was presented, Lindsey mentally scored them. However, the scores she gave were surprisingly similar to those given by the judges.
She didn’t know if it was
it was because her standards were too picky, but she wasn’t particularly satisfied with any of the works here.
The host announced, “Now we are presenting the work of our forty–fifth contestant, Ms. Sheila Jennings, titled Shattered Star
As the red cloth was slowly unveiled, Lindsey’s eyes widened in an instant. Although the design had been altered significantly, she could still recognize it as the design draft she had lost before.
It was then that she realized her design draft had been taken by Sheila.

Chapter 23
As soon as Shattered Star was displayed, there was a stir in both the judges‘ seats and the audience.
“Finally, I’ve seen a piece that truly amazes me. It’s so beautiful”
“Are these embedded with crushed diamonds! They look incredibly beautiful under the refraction of light. So dazzling.”
“I wish I could buy this necklace. I really want it. I’d love to show it off in front of my ex–boyfriend. Just thinking about it makes me
The judges, who had been relatively unresponsive until then, also began to whisper among themselves seemingly very optimistic about this design.
Listening to these comments, Sheila smiled triumphantly, feeling that her choice had indeed been correct

The host walked over to the judges seats and said something, then he asked the audience, “Is Bs. Sheila Jennings present here? If so, could you please come up on stage?”
Sheila curled the corner of her mouth and stood up calmly. Someone immediately handed her a microphone.
I’m here, please wait a moment,” she said calmly.
Sheila had dressed up specially today. As soon as she appeared, someone couldn’t help but exclaim, “I didn’t expect the designer to be such a beauty. She’s both talented and beautiful.”
Sheila was in an extremely good mood at the moment, feeling a bit clated by these flattering words. She walked on stage, smiled and bowed. “Hello everyone, Tim Sheila Jennings, the creator of Shattered Sur
A stern–looking middle–aged man in the judges seats asked her, “Ms Jennings, may I ask what inspired you to design this piece?”
Sheila recognized this man. He was Hank Loomis, the editor–in–chief of the top–tier domestic fashion magazine Era, who had absolute say in the fashion circle. If she could win his favor, it would be like a leap to success.
She told herself she must perform well.
Sheila began. The inspiration for Shuttered Star comes from the starry sky. When I was a child, I always liked to look up at the stars because I thought the twinkling lights were very beautiful and dreamy in the pitch–black night.
“But as I grew up, in a city filled with concrete and high–rise buildings, when I looked up again, I could no longer see such a beautiful starry sky as in my childhood. So I wanted to create a starry sky
This was the prepared statement Sheila had thought of in advance. She had made the most adequate preparations for this competition
However, upon hearing her words, Hank frowned. He asked her again. “Besides the starry sky, do you have any other ideas?”
This question confused Sheila. She didn’t know what other ideas she should have.
Standing on the stage, she nervously clutched the microphone and after a long while, she managed to say. “Probably just something dreamy. I think every girl has a diamond dream since childhood”
Hank’s eyebrows furrowed even more, as if this answer was not to his hiking
Lindsey watched the dramatic scene on stage with great interest. Sheila’s words were not on point, and she didn’t understand the essence of jewelry- design. Therefore, Hank quickly noticed something was amiss with just a few questions.
Next came the judges scoring session. Sheila looked at the judges seats anxiously, feeling that Hank’s reaction just now was not right.
The scores were revealed. Out of ten judges, nine gave Sheila high marks of over eighty or even ninety, but Hank, who had asked the question, only gave her forty points. However, on average, she still had a high score of eighty–four
Although it was the highest score in the venue so far, Sheila felt uncomfortable inside, thinking that Hank was making things difficult for her,
She picked up the microphone and asked discontentedly. “Mr. Loomis, may I ask why you gave me such a low score?”
The others also turned their attention to Hank, because in their view, this design was already quite good and really shouldn’t have received such a
low score
