Chapter 204
Shawn’s voice was gentler than usual, but there was an undeniable tness in his words.
Beneath the surface, a sadness that he couldn’t hide tagged at him. He hated seeing his mother in so much pain, but he knew deep down that this was something they couldn’t unde
It was time to let Elaine go
She didn’t belong here, not anymore. Elaine deserved to fly free, to build her future far from the wreckage of the Yeats family. The family she was born into, the family that had failed her, didn’t deserve her.
Tracy sobbed in
for good.
d in his arms, her cries echoing in the quiet hallway. Deep down, she knew it was over–Elaine was gone, Maybe she lost her daughter long before this moment, but she hadn’t been willing to face it until now. With Elaine walking away. Tracy’s heart shattered, and all she wanted was for her daughter to look back, just oise, to acknowledge the woman who had once been her mother,
Daisy stood at the doorway, watching the scene unfold with a mix of pity and disgust for Tracy
She thought. How could she treat her daughter like this! All for a take! For someone who isn’t even family?
This was the path Tracy had chosen and now she had to live with it, no matter how hard it was
She had sacrificed everything for someone who wasn’t even worth it. And Tracy didn’t even know if it was worth the cost.
Daisy couldn’t help but agree with her mother’s earlier words. When there’s no blood, how can you trust someone? Who knew if they were just a snake in the grass” she thought
Blanca, for instance there was nothing good about her. There was no worst,” only “worse.”
With a disdainful scoff. Daisy turned and left, flanked by Kayla and the others.
uch into Bianca to let it all go to waste.
Ella of course, knew everything that had happened in the Yeats family. She had put too much into
Returning in her sleek, million–dollar car, Ella save Tracy in the hall, face buried in her hands, sobbing, while Bianca stood beside her, trying to comiale her.
Ella’s lips curled into a sneer as she took in the scene. “What a mess. Pathetic“
She couldn’t believe Tracy had let herself be brought so low, especially when Elaine held all the power over her.
“Bianca, come with me”
“Yes, Grandma Bianca replied, eager. The moment Ella called her name, her face lit up with excitement, and without a second thought, she followed her upstains, leaving Tracy’s sobs behind
Shawn stood by the door, watching them, his gaze turning batter.
The daughter Tracy had once adored was now the one Ella favored. Bianca had never been treated with the same care, and he couldn’t shake the irony of it.
Bianca, completely oblivious to Shawn’s thoughts, followed Ella into her private office. Once inside, she listened carefully as Ella spoke about Dragon Lock, a series being produced by Galaxy Entertainment.
Ella’s eyes gleamed with the sharp intelligence that came from years of experience. “Bianca, ignore all the drama online. Don’t respond to any of it Just focus on damage control for now. Once Dragon Lock starts hitting the ratings, everything will clean up.
Tomorrow. Jepson will be looking for investors. Harper’s been swamped with people begging for his money since he came back to China Ordinary people can’t even get a meeting with him. But I’ve got a lead. I found his grandfather’s contact. His grandfather’s sick. We might be able to use that to our advantage.”
“Got it, Grandma, Blanca said, a sly smile tugging at her lips. Inside, she was practically glowing with triumph.
She thought, “Elaine. Oh, Elaine, you thought you had it all figured out, but you never realized that the Yeats family will always have my back. They’ll never give up on me.
“No need for all dut trouble, Grandma Bianca added casually. I know Harper. His grandfather needs surgery. I performed on him before. My skills might not be as good as Harlan’s, but I’m still pretty well–known in the field.”
“Perfect” Ella said, her approval shining through. Then tomorrow, you and Harlan will go to the Williams family to see his grandfather. If his health improves, Harper will be much more likely to invest

Chapter 204
Though Harlan still carried guilt for Elaine, he had never doubted her. Unlike Shown or Tucker, he couldn’t bring himself to blame her for what had happened.
“Harlan, could you come with me and Jepson to the Williams family tomorrow! Bianca asked.
Harlan glanced at the address she gave him and listened to what she said, immediately nodding in agreement.
“Of course.” He replied calmly. “If things get too complicated, I’ll arrange the surgery for you. Your skills are great, but there’s still room for improvement.”
Bianca’s eyes brightened at the thought of Harlan lending a hand. “Thank you, Harlan. Fll head out now.”
Harlan gave her a soft smile and nodded. “Go ahead.”
Back at the Morgan family home, Elaine brewed herself a cup of coffee to unwind.
At six. Kingsley came back from work.
Seeing Elaine sitting on the couch, he walked over to her, concern in his eyes. “Elaine, you okay?”
Elaine snapped out of her thoughts and, seeing his face so close, instinctively reached out to pull him into an embrace.
Kingsley wrapped his arm around her waist, sitting down beside her.
“You’re home”
Kingsley nodded, but his eyes stayed on her face, reading her every expression. “Did you run into anyone at the Yeats family today?”
“I really can’t hide anything from you, can you?” Elaine smiled a little, then sighed. “I just bumped into my mom. She said some things that made me think…”
Sometimes, the bond of blood couldn’t be wrapped up in just a few words.
Kingsley understood immediately–something had happened between Elaine and Tracy. It had to be about Tracy’s adopted daughter, Bianca. Not only was Bianca troubled, but she was troubled with a capital T.
“It’s okay, you’ve got me
Elaine leaned her head on his shoulder, feeling completely safe with him.
“By the way, there’s something I need to tell you”
“What’s going on?”
Kingsley’s tone shifted, becoming more serious. “Someone from Lento City is looking for information on you.”
“Lento City?” Elaine’s brow furrowed. She didn’t recognize the name.
Before her time travel, she had never heard of anyone from Lento City searching for her.
Kingsley’s eyes softened with warmth. “It’s your dad’s older brother.”
“What?” Elaine’s mind suddenly raced, recalling a long–forgotten memory.
