Chapter 270
Sandra, you
Tary’s eyes went bloodshot the moment she saw her rival, her sister–in–law Sandra.
To be honest, Tracy had been at odds with Sandra for most of her life,
+13)
Although she came from a humble background, just a regular university graduate, she had fought and won in the power struggles within the Yeats family, She had Shirley’s favor, and with Robert by her side, she had lived comfortably, enjoying the wealth and status the Yeats family had to offer
It felt like a Cinderella story, and she had relished every moment of it.
But now? Now Sandra was perched high on her throne, humiliating her in front of everyone, and to top it off, she had stolen her own daughter away.
“Sandra, don’t speak so cruelly, Tracy hissed, clenching her fists, feeling the sting of her humiliation deepen.
Her face went pale as she bit her lip, not knowing how she had ended up in this position.
Sandra let out a cold laugh. “Oh, what’s wrong? Is my honesty too harsh for you? You’ve come begging at our doorstep, haven’t you? And now you’re offended by my words? You’re the one making yourself look pathetic, yet you’re upset by the truth? What a joke”
Tracy stood frozen, her face drained of color, her body swaying as though the ground might collapse beneath her at any moment. But she still held herself upright, trying to maintain some dignity, though she looked utterly helpless and pitiful.
But not a single person in the room showed any sympathy for her.
Even Robert, her husband, chose to ignore her, letting her flounder in this public display of shame.
The three Yeats brothers–Glenn, Karl, and Henry–watched, their hearts filled with quiet satisfaction.
They had always resented Tracy, especially for the way she had hurt Elaine. Now, everything she was suffering felt like poetic justice, She didn’t deserve to be a mother.
Sandra continued, her voice cutting through the air like a knife. “Tracy, if you want Elaine to help your son, I’m not saying it’s impossible. But let’s be honest here: Elaine doesn’t owe Jepson anything. They’re not even family. As the saying goes, even blood brothers settle their accounts.
“If you want her to save him, what can you offer to make her happy? Sure, Elaine doesn’t need money, but lending millions without earning any interest? That’s not a deal.”
Tracy’s eyes flashed with desperation. She nearly shouted, “But Jepson is her real brother! How can she worry about interest when it’s her own brother lying there fighting for his life?”
Her voice faltered as she spoke, slipping into a tone of pure pleading. “Please, Sandra, please let Elaine help Jepson. I beg you”
Sandra barely held back a laugh. “Tracy, you’re truly something else. Now you want to claim Jepson is Elaine’s brother? Isn’t that a bit late? Has Jepson ever treated my Elaine like a sister? And you, did you ever treat her like a daughter? If neither of you did, why should she acknowledge you or Jepson now?
“You can’t offer anything of value, yet you still expect money to fall from the sky. The world doesn’t work that way. You’re just as shameless as ever, taking and taking, always wanting more. For Jepson’s sake, don’t you think you should offer something in return?”
Glenn smirked. “Mrs. Yeats, maybe you should ask Bianca. Jepson always adored her. Now, when something goes wrong with

him, isn’t it her duty to help? Yet here you are, begging Elaine. When everything’s fine, you and your precious adogand daughter‘ live carefree lives, but now you think Elaine owes you?”
“You’re pathetic,” Karl added, his voice dripping with disdain. “Jepson’s a real ingrate. If Elaine saves him, they’ll probably jour turn on her again. Imagine how disgusting that must feel for her. If you’re offering interest and a signed agreement, maybe Elaine would consider it as an act of charity.”
Henry nodded. “True, Jepson could totally turn around and bite the hand that feeds him, right? After all, the only person he really cares about is Bianca. It’s so touching how close they are. But tell me, where the hell is Bianca now, when jepion needs help the most?”
Graham sighed from the side, his voice heavy with disappointment. “You always have excuses. I warned you, but you never listened. If you had just taken my advice back then, maybe things wouldn’t have turned out like this.
“Well, I guess this is just your fate,” he said quietly, as if resigned to it all.
Tracy’s face turned even paler at the mention of Bianca.
Ever since the incident, she hadn’t been able to get in touch with Bianca. Maybe Bianca was busy, Tracy told herself, trying to comfort herself with that lie.
But Graham’s words cut deep, and Tracy couldn’t help but feel utterly broken.
Maybe she had been too smug, too confident in the past. Her sons had doted on her, her husband had pampered her, and the whole family treated her like a queen. She had acted impulsively, never listening to the advice of her elders, only ever trying to please Ella.
Now, it all felt like it was slipping through her fingers.
But with Jepson still lying unconscious in the ICU, in critical condition, Tracy didn’t care about the sarcasm or cruel comments from the others. She said, “I want to see Elaine. I want to hear it from her own mouth.”
She knew these people were toying with her, getting their revenge.
“What do you want to hear from me?” A calm voice suddenly interrupted.
Elaine had arrived, her face unreadable, her presence cool and detached.
Her voice was clear, unwavering. “I told you a long time ago, Tracy. The Yeats family and I are done. You should understand what that means, right?”
Tracy’s breath caught in her throat as she looked at her daughter, tears welling in her eyes. Her voice trembled as she begged, “Elaine, for the sake of the blood between you and Jepson, please, help him. Please, I’m begging you. I’ll do anything. I’ll kneel if I have to.”
Without hesitation, Tracy dropped to her knees.
Elaine’s eyes, sharp and cold, stared down at her, with not a flicker of emotion in them.
Tracy clenched her teeth, ignoring the humiliation, and bowed before Elaine. “Elaine, please, please save Jepson.”
Elaine let out a sigh, almost as though she were reminiscing. “Tracy, you really are something. For Jepson’s sake, you’re willing to kneel before me–the Elaine you’ve always looked down on. How touching.”
Tracy lowered her head, sobbing uncontrollably.
Now she was the one begging. She was no longer the proud woman who had once looked down on Elaine—she was on her knees, desperate for Elaine to save her son.

“Elaine, please, I’ll do anything you ask. Anything.”
Elaine stood silent for a moment, her gaze impassive.
Just then, Robert’s phone rang.
He quickly answered the call and, without a word, yanked Tracy to her feet.
“Alright, enough of this. You’re embarrassing yourself. We’ve got a new lead, a new chance.”
Tracy, still dazed and confused, couldn’t grasp what was happening. She followed her husband, unable to process the sudden change, but too excited by the news to question it.
The others stood around, bewildered, unsure what had just happened. All they saw was Robert and Tracy leaving in haste.
But maybe, in the end, that was for the best.
