Chapter 280
Chapter 280
“Mom… Mom…”
Bianca saw Tracy sitting on the edge of the bed, her fingers tightening around Bianca’s neck like a malevolent spirit. Fear and panic gripped Bianca’s heart. She feared that Tracy might strangle her right there.
In a desperate attempt, she tried to awaken the motherly love inside Tracy.
“Please… don’t choke me…”
Her voice was weak and fragile, barely audible in the room.
But Tracy did not stop. Instead, her grip tightened, her words becoming almost sweet as she whispered, “Bianca, don’t you love me? Then, would you die for me? I believe you would, wouldn’t you?”
The words, so tender, were now demanding her life.
Bianca could only feel that Tracy had lost her sanity, completely unhinged.
And then, she blacked out. Her lips turned purple, and the marks on her neck, the cruel imprint of Tracy’s hands, were unmistakable.
Just when Bianca felt like she was slipping away, Tracy released her.
The moment Bianca gasped for air, it was like ascending from hell to heaven. She clutched her neck, coughing violently, tears streaming down her face, inhaling as if it were her first breath of life.
Her face, twisted with pain, might have even terrified a ghost.
“Mom…”
Bianca managed to whisper, her throat raw and her words barely a breath.
Tracy, still looking oddly gentle, asked, “Bianca, are you alright?”
The most terrifying thing was that Tracy had the audacity to pat her on the shoulder, her gaze tender, as if they were the same loving mother and daughter as before–before Tracy almost killed her.
It was terrifying. Bianca now feared Tracy more than anything.
But Bianca was powerless. There was nowhere for her to run. Her marriage was already known to Dangelo, and if she left now, she’d likely be killed by the obsessive Dangelo.
This was her own doing. If she hadn’t tried to seduce Dangelo, she wouldn’t be facing this threat now.
Bianca understood–this was Tracy’s revenge.
A bitter smile appeared on her face as she whispered, “Mom, I’m fine.”
“That’s good to hear.” Tracy murmured, her voice sweet but her intentions sinister. “We still have a long life ahead of us. You know, I have no way back now. Elaine won’t care for me anymore. We must learn to get along. Don’t worry, I will never treat you badly.”
Bianca could only weep, unable to speak.
Tracy held a sharp knife in her hand and traced it along Bianca’s arm, the cold steel sending a wave of terror through Bianca’s body. “Bianca, why are you crying? Haven’t I treated you well?”

Chapter 280
Terrified that Tracy might lose control, Bianca quickly shook her head, muttering, “No, Mom, you’ve been so good to me?
Tracy’s lips curled into a strange smile as she calmly said, “That’s better, Your father has been sentenced for years. When he gets out and sees how devoted we are, he’ll be comforted, don’t you think?”
If Robert saw his wife go insane, he would probably want to rush back to prison, wishing he could live out his life there,
Living with someone half–mad was a form of torment in itself.
Suddenly, Tracy tossed the knife to the floor and coldly said, “Bianca, you will never escape from my grasp. From now on, we will torture each other. This is our fate. If you ever try any tricks, if you ever try to scheme against me, I will make you wish you were dead.”
The words hit Bianca like a punch to the gut. She was falling into an abyss of terror.
“Bianca, do you understand?”
The next moment, Tracy resumed her gentle, maternal demeanor.
Bianca was shaken to her core, choking out, “I… I understand.”
She knew now that her life would never be the same.
But Bianca had no other option–crying was all she could do.
Why was she, the supposed heroine of this world, cursed like this? She was destined for greatness, yet now she was stuck in this hellish trap.
Tracy stood up, her movements strange and unsettling as she left the room.
That night, Tracy had remembered everything. She had remembered her past life.
Her real daughter, Elaine, had died in the previous life, long before.
This life was only her second chance.
In the first life, Elaine died in that dark world. But Tracy was lucky enough to be reborn, and in this life, she lived a life full of happiness, everything reversed from her tragic past.
But now, it was time to end it all.
Tracy locked the door, staring into the endless night outside as she muttered to herself.
She laughed, then cried, then laughed again, a picture of insanity, but no one cared anymore.
After sending his biological father to prison, Shawn left the Yeats family alone, taking only his skiing equipment with him. He left in silence, without telling anyone, and vanished.
Tucker found his note, his emotions conflicted.
It was all over, and yet they had lost Elaine forever.
Shawn went skiing on a snow–covered mountain. As he climbed, it felt as if his mind were empty, as if he had thought of everything, or nothing at all. His warm breath clouded in front of him.
He had come to ski one last time, but no one expected him to meet with another accident in the snow.
This time, Shawn didn’t struggle, didn’t fear, didn’t panic. He felt a strange sense of liberation, as if he were ready to die.

Lying in the snow, his face numb from the cold, he seemed to see Elaine’s figure in a fleeting moment,
Her voice, full of joy, echoed above him. “Shawn, I finally found you. Don’t be afraid. I’ll take you home. Just hold on, we’re almost there…”
But when he reached out, there was nothing. Elaine had never been there.
It had all been an illusion.
Memories flooded his mind in a chaotic rush. With his last breath, he whispered to the illusion, “Elaine, let’s go.”
A faint smile lingered on his lips as his eyes closed for the last time. ‘Elaine, in this life and the next, I owe you two lives. This time, I’m returning one to you Goodbye, Elaine. And I’m sorry!
Shawn died alone in the snow.
When Tucker and the others found out, they were crushed with grief. They never imagined Shawn would die so young. But deep down, they knew that Shawn no longer had any regrets.
They all remembered, the events of their past lives.
Shawn’s death brought a definitive end to his story.
When Samantha learned of Shawn’s passing, she couldn’t believe it. He had been so full of life, so healthy.
But in the blink of an eye, he had left her with only his cold, lifeless body. How could she bear it?
Elaine didn’t attend Shawn’s funeral, but she did show up to give him a bouquet of white chrysanthemums. She turned to leave immediately after, with Kingsley waiting in the car.
The chrysanthemums marked the end. The end of everything.
“Elaine.”
Samantha, her eyes swollen from crying, called out to her. Dressed in black, she approached Elaine.
Elaine looked at her coldly and said, “What is it, Samantha?”
Samantha smiled bitterly, “I know now, you’re Rose, the famous new designer. Elaine, you’re incredible, you’re so talented. I was blind before, saying all those things to make you the butt of my jokes. Now I regret it.”
Elaine raised an eyebrow. “And?”
Samantha laughed at herself. “I used to fantasize about defeating you in ready–to–wear design, about overtaking your company’s profits. But now I realize I was arrogant. If I had listened to Li Mo sooner, not trying to please Bianca, not using you as a punching bag, I might have married Li Mo by now instead of losing him like I have.”
For Samantha, this was all a tragedy–one she had unwittingly caused herself.
Elaine knew that Samantha, now enlightened, had come to understand much of what had happened. Elaine didn’t say much more. She had no real connection with Samantha. She simply said, “I’m leaving.”
Samantha nodded silently, “Mm.”
Elaine turned and walked away, leaving her behind, returning to the funeral hall.
Finally, Travis of the Yeats family returned. He stood silently at Shawn’s memorial and sighed deeply.
