Chapter 86
Chapter 86
Seeing Book Elf pledge its loyalty with such earnestness, Elaine ally felt satisfied.
“Now, that’s more like it.”
Just then, a call came through. Secretary Diana Fry’s voice came on the line. “Miss Years, the president of Galaxy Entertainment would like to meet you for dinner. Would you be interested in seeing them?”
“Galaxy Entertainment’s president?” Elaine repeated the words, a thoughtful glint appearing in her eyes.
At this moment, Shawn wanted to meet her?
A76%
Not just Shawn, but Boynton had orchestrated the arrival of a Miss Yeats, who, under the name “Radiant Media, had acquired Joy Entertainment in one fell swoop, bringing the hottest rising star in the industry, Sharon, under her wing. The news was making waves across the entertainment world.
Just who exactly is Radiant Media?”
“And what about this Miss Yeats? Who is she, really?”
The entire industry seemed to be bracing for a reshuffling.
Elaine leaned back in her chair, casually playing with her keycham, a sly smile tugging at the corner of her lips. She looked as unruly and untamed as ever.
Shawn had heard of Radiant Media, of course. Now, several entertainment companies were subtly clashing behind the
scenes.
Why did he want to talk to Elaine, though? Wasn’t it because Sharon had snatched away Bianca’s major role in a drama? Clearly, he wanted to discuss it with her.
Diana asked again, “Miss Yeats?”
Elaine lazily responded, “Tell him I’m not interested in meeting
Elaine knew exactly what Shawn was after he was upset over Blanca losing the role to Sharon. Surely, Ella was furious about it at home? But whatever their intentions, it didn’t matter.
As long as Sharon was under her protection, no one would be able to touch her or make any moves against her.
“Understood, Miss Yeats.”
Diana hung up, and Elaine straightened in her chair.
Galaxy Entertainment was the second most important company under the Yeats family after Starlight Fashion.
Ella and Robert had always wanted to turn it into the entertainment industry’s leading force, gobbling up the largest market
share and resources.
But it seemed they wouldn’t have that chance anymore.
Elaine couldn’t help but wonder how they’d react if they found out their most despised “abandoned child” had built the biggest entertainment empire in the industry and even placed herself at the top of the food chain.

It was truly something to look forward to.
What if she destroyed the very thing they had fought for the m? Wouldn’t that make them cry?
Elaine’s smile darkened, her expression veiled in a sinister mystery, making it impossible for anyone to read her thoughts.
“Elaine?”
A lazy voice interrupted her musings. Elaine turned around and found Kingsley standing behind her, wearing only a white shirt, the sleeves rolled up, giving him an effortlessly stylish air–clean and charming in his elegance.
Elaine purred softly like a noble cat. “Kingsley.”
No matter the lifetime, Elaine had always admired a gentleman like him. Finley didn’t even compare.
She remembered how he used to wear bracelets when he was in Kyoto. But in Boynton, she hadn’t seen him wear one once.
Thinking of her past life with Kingsley, Elaine felt a strange sense of disorientation.
Kingsley’s thoughts were as unreadable as ever.
“No need to be so formal,” Kingsley said, lowering his eyes, his handsome face glowing under the light. “From now on, just call me Kingsley.”
Elaine’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “Alright.”
Kingsley smiled slightly and walked over, placing a plate of watermelon on the table. The fruit was cut neatly, looking more translucent and inviting under the soft glow of the lights.
“Eat some watermelon.”
Elaine nodded, her curiosity getting the better of her. I’ve always wondered… why did your family give you that name? Is there some special meaning behind it?”
Kingsley paused for a moment, a faint smile curling his lips. “Why do you ask?”
“I’m just curious.”
Kingsley’s smile deepened.
Elaine was momentarily taken aback, and Kingsley, seeing her confusion, reached out and lightly brushed her hair, his voice soft as he said, “Alright, eat your waterinelon. I cut it just for you. Abbot said he’ll bring you some late–night snacks soon, He’s completely under your spell now.”
Elaine took a bite of the watermelon. Though it wasn’t in season, it was still incredibly sweet.
But her thoughts were elsewhere. “What about your bracelet?”
Kingsley raised an eyebrow, his gaze darkening with mystery. “How did you know Lwear a bracelet?“.
Elaine reached out, taking his hand in hers. Sure enough, there was no bracelet.
His build was lean but not fragile–more of a lithe strength.

“Kingsley, do you believe in religion? Elaine asked.
Kingsley’s eyes flickered for a moment, his lips curling with a trace of mockery. “No.“–
Elaine pressed. Then why.
The smile on his lips grew sharper as he leaned down, gazing into her eyes. “Little girl, sometimes there’s no need to ask why. Some things just make for good decoration.”
“Oh Elaine stared at him, a silent resolve forming in her heart. She was going to save him.

“Kingsley” Elaine suddenly grabbed his wrist, surprising him with her strength. He almost toppled over into her lap, caught off guard by her pull
He looked at her, her expression serious and determined, and couldn’t help but laugh. “What is it?”
Elaine suppressed her nervousness, leaned in, and kissed his cheek.
Her youthful shyness acted like a catalyst, softening his heart.
Her eyes, full of tenderness, drew him in deeper.
“Kingsley,” she whispered, “Once it’s official, you’ll be mine.”
Kingsley said nothing, but the way he stared at her face made his heart flutter.
How could he not be moved by Elaine? She was strong, smart, and occasionally vulnerable, but her brightness pierced through the darkness, lighting up his heart.
Elaine, realizing what she had just done, quickly pulled away like a startled rabbit, dashing downstairs, leaving behind a sweet fragrance that seemed to warm the coldness in his heart.
Downstairs, she grabbed a dessert.
Grace, seeing Kingsley hadn’t come back down after an hour, couldn’t help but understand.
It seemed Kingsley had truly fallen into her gentle snare. How wonderful.
An hour later, Shawn finally received a call back from Diana.
“Mr. Yeats, I’m sorry, but our president said they’re too busy to meet anyone right now. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
Shawn felt a pang of disappointment in his heart.
“Alright, thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
