Shawn knew it deep down–he wanted Elaine to stay at Galaxy Entertainment. If she left, there’d be nothing left between them. Elaine might never acknowledge him again.
Tracy, seeing Shawn snap at her with such intensity but speak almost softly to Elaine, couldn’t understand what was happening.
“Make it up to me?” Elaine echoed Shawn’s words, her voice dripping with disbelief. “Shawn, do you really think that whatever you offer to make it up‘ is worth anything? You’re delusional
Elaine shook her head, clearly amused, as if she had just heard the most absurd joke. It reminded her of something that had happened a while back.
“I remember once, when I was filming a variety show, Bianca fell down a flight of stairs. At that time, her assistant immediately accused me of pushing her, and the whole internet exploded with backlash. They demanded an apology from
- me.
“When the director of Galaxy Entertainment heard about it, he didn’t even let me explain. He made me post a public apology on top of the social media feed. If I didn’t, they’d pull me from the show.
Do you know why he was so biased? Because, just like everyone else at the company, he knew that Bianca was your golden child. No matter what the truth was, the person who had to bow their head was always going to be me.
You have no right to talk about making amends. You’re not ever worthy of it.”
Shawn’s face went pale at her words.
He had never realized how badly Elaine had been treated at the company. And, truth be told, some of that mistreatment was his fault. People tend to follow the wind, and the staff at the company were no different–they’d always sided with whoever held power.
The director who had been eavesdropping outside the door now felt his legs turn to jelly. The inevitable had finally come to pass.
A few employees who had come to watch the drama unfold broke into a cold sweat, relieved that they hadn’t had any personal conflicts with Elaine. Otherwise, today, they wouldn’t be the only ones sweating.
The director probably never imagined Elaine would have a chance to turn the tables.
And now, with Shawn bending over backward to please Elaine, not even fighting back when she mocked him, the director was as good as finished.
Livia, standing by the door, was surprised to hear Elaine speak so freely in front of Shawn. She quickly thought up a plan deciding to repay the director’s past favor.
At Galaxy Entertainment, Livia and Elaine were on the best of terms. Maybe, just maybe, Flaine would show her some mercy and let the director off the hook.
So, with full confidence, Livia stepped forward and said, “It’s fine I’ll speak on behalf of the director. Elaine won’t hold a grudge. After all, it’s a small matter, right?”
The director, hearing Livia’s words, immediately grew emotional

Thank you so much. Your name’s Livin, right? Don’t worry, I’ll member this favor.
Livia beamed, pleased with herself.
“Thank you.” she replied, her smile wide.
In the office, as Shawn listened to Elaine recount her past struggles, a wave of anger surgerl in him. Hearing voices from the door, he snapped, “Lisa, open the door. Let’s see who’s been eavesdropping”
The next second, the director nearly tripped over his own feet he stumbled into the room.
Livia, standing calmly by his side, casually flipped her hair, pretending to be unfazed.
“Miss Yeats… The director looked toward Elaine, his face now a pacture of feigned innocence. “Elaine”
Seeing the director’s sly expression, Elaine knew exactly what was going on. With a smirk, she taunted him. “Did you enjoy eavesdropping on my private conversation with your boss? Should I give you a little more time to listen in?
Elaine had come to Galaxy Entertainment today for one thing–his director. It was time to settle some old scores. “No, no need,” the director stammered, holding up a file, his smile turning obsequious. “I was just coming to report something to Miss Yeats. I didn’t realize you were speaking with Mr. Yeats. I didn’t mean to interrupt.”
Livia, still standing confidently by Elaine, tried to smooth things over. “Elaine, the director’s a very responsible person. He’s always giving his best for Galaxy Entertainment. If he’s done anything wrong in the past, maybe you could just let it go, as show of grace?”
The director, grinning from ear to ear, nodded in agreement.
“Oh?” Elaine raised an eyebrow, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Is that so? You really think you can just change the game like that, huh, Livia? You’re flattering yourself.
“You want me to forgive the director, but what exactly are you hoping to get in return? Are you hoping for some kind of favor from him? I’m sorry, but I’m not quite that easy to manipulate.”
Livia’s smile froze, the tension palpable. Her face stiffened as she realized she had overplayed her hand.
