Noticing that Elaine was once again fixated on the issue and badmouthing Bianca, Tracy nurned serious. She had complete faith in Bianca and couldn’t help but think that Elaine’s jealousy was driving her to make up lies.
“Okay, Elaine,” Tracy said, her voice cool. “You really need to get a grip. This isn’t rational. If it weren’t for Bianca being so generous and giving Finley to you, do you honestly think a village girl like you could snag the youngest son of the Scott Family! Breaking off the engagement is for your own good. It’ll save you from embarrassment. Do you really think just anyone can step into the Scott family?
Tracy was set on convincing Elaine to agree to the breakup so Bianca and Finley could end up together. Sure, as a mom, she was a bit biased, but who could really blame her?
Bianca was nearly flawless, except for not having Yeats blood. Elaine, on the other hand, was hardly anything more than a name in the family, and she’d become the talk of the town since her retum
If Elaine ended up marrying someone like Finley, it wouldn’t just be her own reputation on the line. The Yeats family would take a hit, too. Tracy felt like Elaine was being stubborn and completely missing her point
At that moment, Tracy’s words came out a little harsher than she intended.
“One more word,” Elaine picked up a knife and threw it on the table, a cold light shimmering off the blade. “I wouldn’t mind shutting you up in some special way.
“Or how about pulling the fingers off your precious daughter, one by one?”
Noticing Tracy’s face turning red. Elaine smirked a bit and said, “Oh, I’m just kidding”
“What a maniac! Tracy thought. The grin on Elaine’s face made Tracy feel a bit dizzy. She struggled to hold back a bunch of words before ultimately deciding to say nothing.
Watching Tracy squirm gave Elaine a little thrill. As she immersed herself in her bowl of soup, Elaine completely ignored Tracy,
In the meantime. Tracy watched Elaine enjoy her meal, and her stomach started to grumble, too. Even though Tracy usually preferred heartier dishes and wasn’t a fan of simple, basic meals, her hunger was creeping up on her.
Tracy waited, hoping Flaine would invite her to eat, but Elaine acted as if she didn’t notice her at all and continued to eat with Nell. Tracy, by nature, would never be the one to make the first move
Bianca chimed in, “Mom, how about we grab a bite at a restaurant nearby?
Floren Village was so out in the middle of nowhere that the nearest restaurant was six miles away, wi here.
ay which
was definitely better tha
than the rough food
“Sure, let’s go Tracy replied, feeling fed up with the rustic surroundings and developing a sense of resistance.
As she stood up. Tracy stole another glance at Elaine and added, “Whenever you sort things out, just give me or your sister a call, and join us
With that. Tracy and Bianca left. Tracy was convinced that after all this, Elaine would eventually forgive her.
There was no way Elaine would want to stay in the poverty of Floren Village, and she was sure Elaine would listen to her and dump Finley to marry that idiot instead.
But Elaine didn’t even look up, completely ignoring Tracy’s comments. All of Tracy’s self–righteousness was bound to come back and bite her.
They were not gonna get Elaine’s forgiveness, just like she couldn’t get their love after the car explosion.
After dinner. Elaine called Kingsley. “Hey, Mr. Morgan, how’s Grace doing?” she asked.
Kingsley recognized the warmth in her voice. “The doctor said Grandma’s leg isn’t healing well, and there’s a good chance they’ll have to amputate it. The specialists are in a meeting right now, and they’ll be ready to operate within the hour if everything goes smoothly
He continued. “Harlan is the one who will be performing the surgery on Grandma this time.
Harlan’s skills as a surgeon were well–known. People came from all over just to have him operate
Those words hat Elaine hard. She quickly replied. “Mr. Morgan, can you please talk to the dean and give me an hour? I think I have a solution

can save Grace’s leg
Grace is such a sweet old lady and would be heartbroken if she couldn’t travel the world with her friends anymore, Elaine thought.
Kingsley didn’t see that coming from Elaine. He paused for a moment, remembering how she had carefully taken care of his grandmother earlier.
“Do you want me to come pick you up?” he asked.
It felt like they were on the same wavelength, and without hesitation, Kingsley decided to go get her.
In all her life. Elaine had never felt this level of trist or warmth from someone, nor had she ever felt so absolutely chosen. But with Kingsley, there was something special.
A comforting warmth settled in
in her chest. “Thank you, she sail, her voice soft and sweet, almost like it was designed to rug at a heartstring. thought you wouldn’t take my word for it.”
Elaine was playing a hit coy, trying to earn his sympathy.
Kingsley hesitated for a moment, his deep eyes showing a flicker of emotion. He could picture how captivating Elaine must look right now, like a delicate lile tox with a mix of cunning and innocence.
“Of course I believe you, he replied. Kingsley had always been a tough guy, but for some reason, he just couldn’t help but want to break his usual rules when it came to Elaine who was putting on a sad act
He didn’t quite understand why that was
Kingsley had heard from his guys that the twin brothers from the Yeats family, along with Tracy and Rianca, had been to Floren Village to look for Elaine, It was pretty obvious they weren’t on good terms with her.
Elaine felt a rush of emotions as she listened to Kingsley’s captivating voice on the phone. She couldn’t help but be drawn in. Hist Charming
“Good” she said.
voice was
s just too
After hanging up. Kingsley sprang into action. “Let the doctors and specialists know we’re holding off on treatment for Grandma for now. Anyone who steps out of line will answer to me. Got it?
“Kingsley, are you out of your mind?” Abbot Morgan shot back, confused about why Kingsley would stop the doctors from helping their grandmother just because of some girl’s words.
“Isn’t Grandma’s life more important than her legs” he added.
Kingsley shot Abbot a hard glare. Abbot, feeling the intensity of that look, instinctively backed off and decided to stay quiet. He knew when his brother truly lost it, it could get pretty intense
The last time he accidentally lost his nephew, Kingsley kicked him in the chest, and it still burt.
Even people outside couldn’t help but feel uneasy about his icy demeanor and ruthlessness.
“Mr. Morgan” Harlan walked out of the conference room, wearing his white coat. As one of the specialists at this seminar discussing Grace’s condition, he shared the decision to go ahead with her leg amputation.
