Chapter 21
So. Elaine was already so pitiful and humble in her past life.
Flashes of memories from the past flickered in her mind.
From a young age. Blanca lived in the most exquisite and luxurious room, surrounded by an endless supply of glamorous evening gowns. Every birthday brought her gifts of luxury sports cars, opulent villas, and designer clothes, as her brothers went to great lengths to shower her with
affection
The worst diamond ring in her collection was a whopping ten carats, dazzlingly bright.
This was something Elaine, despite expending all her energy, could never attain.
The room she stayed in was nothing more than an ordinary guest room hastily tidied up by the maids.
Elaine glanced at Tracy, a mocking smile on her lips. “Mrs Yeats, do you remember all this!”
Tracy couldn’t help recalling those past events, but they were all water under the bridge. Over the years, hadn’t we got along quite well? Why dwell on so much?” she thought
“Elaine, what do you mean by that? Tracy lowered her voice, moving her lips slightly. “When you first came home back then, I just couldn’t accept that you were my real daughter, nor could your brothers
“Plus, Bianca had just found out about her identity, and I had to consider her feelings. If you were understanding, you’d know why we were like that. I didn’t let you call me ‘Mom‘ because I needed time to adjust, and I believe your brothers felt the same.
“But, you are always my biological daughter, and the sister to your seven brothers by blood. This is an undeniable fact. As for Bianca, she’s also my daughter, your sister. You shouldn’t hold a grudge against her, she’s innocent.”
Tracy still couldn’t comprehend some of Elaine’s lingering obsessions,
“Biological daughter–what a cruel joke.
There was only indifference in Ehine’s eyes
It’s fine. I had long stopped caring about the so–called maternal love. How others thought didn’t matter to me. I should have realized it earlier: blood ties weren’t just about blood–there had to be a connection.
“Maybe from the moment I was switched at birth, we were destined to be strangers. Perhaps, from the beginning, returning to the Yeats family was a mistake, she thought bitterly.
Finally, she replied, “It doesn’t matter. I stopped caring about it long ago. Who you like is none of my business.”
With that, she glanced at Daisy casually, who was in such pain that her lips had turned pale. She smoothly delivered a warning. “Daisy, better watch that dirty mouth of yours. Next time, it won’t just be a splash of water washing it out!”
“Elaine, you shameless bitch!” Daisy suddenly yelled.
With Tracy around to back her up, her fear retreated, bolstering her nerve. “You’re the one crawling into a creepy old man’s bed. You hit me because you can’t face the shame! Don’t think my dad or Tracy will let you slide for this!”
Hearing Daisy’s claims, Janet chimed in, stirring the pot, “Elaine, you’re out of line. Even though you’re beeling with your brother, you c in such a filthy affair with an old man. I mean, you’re a public figure, after all
can’t engage
Tracy had just snapped out of her daze when Janet’s words ignited another surge of anger in her, completely obliterating the lingering guilt for Elaine from her mind.
Daisy is planning to tattle–that simply won’t do! It would jeopardize the relationship between the Lever and Yeats familiest
Flaine is nothing but a troublemaker. If only she didn’t create so much drama, me and her brothers wouldn’t be so disappointed with her she cursed inwardly
Tracy glared at Elaine with an expression that screamed “wish you weren’t so disappointing and retorted, “Did Daisy really say anything wrong? You were all lovey–dovey with that old man in the hospital last time–Daisy saw it with her own eyes. Instead of showing any remorse, you’re actually hurting your future sister–in–law? Did we teach you manners just for you to throw them away like that?”

Chapter 21
Daisy chimed in at this time, “How dare you deny having any connection with that old man you were with? I saw the two of you walking side by side, extremely intimate,”
They seemed absolutely convinced Elaine was involved with an old man.
Daisy continued her clamoring. “My dad knows every middle–aged man in the business world, Elaine. Tell us the name of that man. Maybe my dad even did business with him.”
But Elaine cut her off her smile gentle as she said, “Sorry, Daisy, your dad might not actually know him because your dad’s nowhere near qualified.
“If you’ve got bad eyesight, go get it checked at the optometrist. Don’t go around hallucinating young handsome guys are old men. The guy’s only 25, young, super hot, and loaded. Even if you’ve got bad eyes, you can’t mistake a young hottie for an old man, right? Or maybe you’re just jealous!”
“What? No way?r Daisy’s face changed instantly. Listening to Elaine’s confident words, she began to doubt their authenticity.
However, she hadn’t actually seen the man’s face clearly. With Elaine’s claim, she was a bit uncertain, wondering, ‘Elaine actually said that the man with her was a young guy?”
Coming back to her senses, Daisy sneered disdainfully, “You’re shameless to the extreme. On the brink of death, you still dare to be through your teeth. Do you think Tracy and I will buy your nonsense!”
“Why not?” Elaine grew even calmer, her umile taking on an air of bewitchment. “You should be familiar with this person, Kingsley Morgan. If you don’t believe me, I can call him here right now for a face–to–face meeting.”
When Elaine uttered the name,
the expressions of Tracy and Janet changed dramatically, their eyes meeting in a look of stunned disbelief.
Kingsley was from the top tier of the noble families in Boynton, a figure of immense power.
Even Finley, with a powerful background, paled in comparison to him.
Kingsley had only moved to Boynton a few years ago, yet in the past few years, he had created a business legend. At 25, he was already extraordinarily talented and accomplished.
Rumor had it that his true identity was still under scrutiny, his background mysterious. His true nature remained an unsolved enigma in the business world.
Currently, only his grandmother lived in Boynton with him, his parents identities unknown.
In the past, merely conceiving of a relationship with Kingsley was out of the question, but now, Elaine not only chatted amiably with him but also appeared remarkably close. This was simply incredible!
After tremendous shock, Daisy fix
fixed her eyes tightly on Elaine, trying to discern any signs of lying.
Had Elaine named any other man, they might have believed it, yet she claimed it was Kingsley.
Even the usually shrewd Janet couldn’t remain composed. As someone who had freeloaded around her old pal for decades, she had looked down < Elaine.
But now, Elaine had ties with Kingsley…
Janet smiled gently on the side, feigning concern, “Elaine, you can’t just spread such words casually, especially about Mr. Morgan. You mustn’t engage in groundless rumors and offend him.”
Her words subtly warned Elaine not to speak recklessly.
