Chapter 23
Kingsley continued, “Mrs. Yeats, my fiancée already told me about what happened at the store over the phone. The person she was with at the hospital last time was me. My grandmother was hospitalized, and Elaine was kind enough to visit her. So, it’s not like the rumors said–that Elaine was hanging out with some fat, old man.”
Upon hearing this. Tracy felt her face flushed with embarrassment and fear. ‘Are they insane to actually think Mr. Morgan was some fat, old man? she thought, horrified.
“I’m so sorry, Mr. Morgan. It was my mistake to believe the rumors and misunderstand my daughter. I apologize for bothering you to come all the way here. I hope it hasn’t caused you any inconvenience, Tracy hastened to explain.
As for Daisy, the spreader of the rumors, her face burned with shume, feeling like she’d just been slapped.
The truth hit her so hard! She had no idea when Elaine managed to connect with Grace.
This woman certainly knows her tricks, daring to cozy up to Mrs. Grace Morgan to get closer to Mr. Morgan! Daisy thought sourly, a stir of recklessness within her
She was tempted to get close to Kingsley herself, but his piercing gaze seemed to see through her, instilling a chill that made it impossible to muster the courage to approach,
Kingsley’s sharp eyes quickly returned to normal. He had seen too many women trying to use tricks to get close to him. No matter how well they hid it, he could always tell, which was why no woman dared to get too close–there was simply no chance.
“This is what I should do” He nodded.
His words stirred Elaine’s thoughts, making her face reddened. ‘What did Mr. Morgan mean by that? she wondered.
To outsiders, the sentence seemed a bit ambiguous.
Im here, there’s something I want to tell Mrs Years, Kingsley added calmly. “My grandmother really likes Elaine. So, Elaine and I plan to get married. We’ve discussed it, and we’ll first have an engagement ceremony before officially registering the marriage.
“What‘ Marriage!! Tracy couldn’t believe her ears, shouting inwardly, Kingsley… wants to marry Elaine? Did I hear that right? Am I dreaming??
She had thought the best possible scenario would be to marry Elaine to a rich family’s simple child in Boynton, ensuring her a life of luxury.
Never in her wildest dreams would she believe Elaine to bring back a big shot like Kingsley–even in daydreams, she dared not fantasize abour having such a son–in–law.
Faced withi
this man of noble bearing and near–perfect credentials, Tracy was momentarily at a loss.
It all came too suddenly.
Daisy, sitting awkwardly nearby, asked after much hesitation, “Mr. Morgan, are you joking?”
Her fingers dug furiously into her palm, her eyes burning with jealousy. “How could Elaine, of all people, deserve Kingsley? She’s just a low–class country girl. Such a woman wasn’t fit to hold a candle to Bianca.
If Mr. Morgan were really considering marriage, surely it should be to Bianca. With this thought, Daisy’s heart burned with injustice for Blanca.
Though she herself was very drawn to Kingsley, she knew her place and understood she wasn’t worthy of his status. But Bianca was different.
“Mr. Morgan really had a bad choice of women to have fallen for someone like Elaine, who is not only malicious but also unlikabler she murmured Inwardly
Blaine wasn’t surprised by Kingsley’s words. They had already agreed on marriage, and the Yeats family would inevitably find out.
Despite the original novel’s storyline necessitating her return to the Yeats family, Kingsley now proposing marriage and engagement helped her break free from the confines of the Yeats family.
Once married into the Morgan family, her interactions with the seven golden boys of the Yeats family, and the main character, Bianca, would be less frequent
Gradually, she might truly be able to distance herself from the novel’s storyline and live a lifetime of happiness with Kingsley,

Chapter 23
And Elaine had resolved to redeem the gloomy, obsessive Kingsley, preventing him from repeating his past, from dying in that dark basement.
Tracy finally snapped out of her astonishment, her thoughts still a bit scattered as she stammered, “Since Mr. Morgan said so, I have no objections”
Kingsley hummed in agreement, then turned to Elaine. “Is Grandma still trying on clothes?”
Elaine replied in affirmation, Kingsley nodded and directly bought out the entire store.
Seeing the guy’s sky–high confidence. Daisy and Janet were both sumned.
Though they weren’t short of cash, their monthly pocket money was set and they couldn’t just casually max out a store like Kingsley did.
At this moment, Grace emerged from the fitting room with a beaming smile while Juana pushed her wheelchair from behind.
She warmly called out to Elaine. “Elaine.”
Elaine replied sweetly, “Grace”
Grace had seen everything that happened from the back and didn’t step out earlier to see how Elaine would handle the situation.
The result was very satisfying–Elaine hadn’t been bullied or suffered any losses. On the contrary, Daisy ended up swallowing a bellyful of water and didn’t dare to say a word now
Grace loved Elaine’s vengeful nature, thinking she should’ve made Daisy drink more dirty water.
She held up a gleaming gown, stylish and pricey, saying. I think this gown suits Elaine perfectly. I saw her walking the red carpet in such a gown on TV last time. Such a beautiful gown, like it’s tailor–made for her.”
When Elaine saw the strikingly bright gown, her face lit up with genuine joy in response to Grace’s warmth, and she gratefully accepted it. “Thank you. Grace.
Meanwhile, Daisy and Janet were already jealous to the core.
So. Kingsley bought out the whole store for Elaine.
And just moments ago, Daisy had mocked her for not being able to afford the clothes here.
After swiping the card, Kingsley didn’t rush off but approached Elaine with gentlemanly courtesy, offering, TI take you back.”
Grace couldn’t help but beam with pride as Kingsley offered to take Elaine home, relieved that her crude grandson finally knew how to take care of
WOMEN.
“Sure.” Elaine nodded.
Seeing Kingsley show such kindness and gentlemanly manners toward Elaine, Daisy thought, ‘Fine, the guy’s rich and powerful, and to be so thoughtful as well?
Seizing the moment, Tracy hurriedly added, “Mr. Morgan, we’d appreciate it if you could kindly send Elaine to our house.”
Flaine remained silent, signaling her assent. She had to go back to the Yeats family, to go through the main plotline of the novel.
As for how to approach her tasks, well, that’d be up to her to decide.
