Chapter 62
When Elaine heard Shawn apologize again, there was no reaction in her heart–only mockery and indifference remained
She had once imagined countless times that perhaps one day, when they realized their mistakes and regretted them, Shawn might gently pat her head, just like he did with Bianca, and apologize, promising that such things would never happen again. Even if it was just those words, she would
have been content.
She had always been this way–easily satisfied.
This g
question lingered in her mind until the day she died.
to hear it.
Unfortunately, she never got to
Now, this apology came too late.
Elaine’s expression was calm, and she interrupted him with a neutral tone, saying, “Shawn, you don’t actually need to apologize to me.
Shawn looked at the cold, indifferent girl before him, his expression even more complex, but a flicker of new hope ignited in his eyes
Shawn continued. “If you can forgive me…
If Elaine could forgive him this time, he would never wrong her again. Perhaps it wasn’t as bad as he had imagined. As long as he comforted her. things would get better.
But Elaine interrupted his unspoken words once again, shaking her head, her tone as cruel as ever. “Your apology is worthless. In fact, it’s as cheap as toilet paper in a public restroom–there’s plenty of it everywhere”
This sentence left Shawn stunned.
He stared at her in disbelief, unable to
“Elaine
to accept that these cruel words were coming from her lips.
He had wanted to say, “Don’t be like this. Elaine, you’re not like this. You’re soft–hearted, you can never truly hurt anyone, especially not your own brother. You’ve never been this harsh. Seeing you like this makes my heart ache.”
Indeed, anyone would feel this way upon seeing their innocent, thoughtful sister suddenly turn cold and indifferent, even to the point of pretending she had never been kind to them. It would hurt anyone.
What had
happened to Elaine to make her become this way? Only she knew.
But as he was about to speak, Shawn suddenly choked up, unable to find the words. His heart hurt even more, as he realized Elaine had endured their biased favoritism toward Blanca, the false accusations they had placed on her, and the self–righteous punishments they thought were justified.
“Isn’t that the truth!” Elaine’s eyes flashed with sarcasm again
She stood at the door of the dressing room, suddenly pointing forcefully outside. Her lips curled into a smirk, her voice raised as she said, “Go abead, ask the people in the banquet hall. Ask them all. See if anyone thinks your apology now can erase everything you’ve done to me before. Do you dare to ask?”
Her harsh question left Shawn speechless once more.
Elaine spoke again, mocking, “Look, even you know how wrong your actions were before. You can’t even face anyone.”
“Yes, saying sorry is your right, but I also have the right not to forgive,
Elaine calmed herself before speaking again, “Even if you apologize now, I still have to say, I can’t forgive you–not just you, but all of you, Listen carefully
“As for Tucker,” Elaine paused and then said, “He came to find me before the charity event, asking me not to wear the same dress as Bianca, but I refused. I just spoke the truth–my life is none of your business. When I needed you, how did you treat me! Now you show up pretending to care- who are you doing this for!”
“Is this all it takes for Tucker to lose his mind?”
This was just the beginning.

Chapter 62
Shawns expression fmally shifted.
So. Tucker didn’t want Elaine to wear the same dress, worried she would be overshadowed by Bianca and embarrass herself at the charity event, making Ella’s scheme succeed.
But clearly, Ella’s plan had fallen apart.
“Shawn, I hope you tell Ella everything that happened today” Elaine’s face twisted into a strange smile. T’m sure Ella at the Yeats family must be waiting anxiously. She’ll be dying to know what interesting things happened at the charity event.”
Slawn’s en
emotions were complicated. If Ella found out what happened, she’d probably be furious.
Her beloved granddaughter, whom she cherished, had been completely overshadowed by the Elaine she despised.
Not only in the entrance, but also on the runway, Elaine had successfully drawn everyone’s attention to herself, while Bianca was ignored.
Now, Bianca was tied to the Yeats family, not just tied to Galaxy Entertainment, but to all the family’s interests. Only Starlight Fashion, the design company, was under Elaine’s name.
As the saying goes, “When one prospers, all prosper, when one falls, all fall”
The issues with the Scott family aside, the public’s perception of Nunca could have far–reaching consequences for the entire Yeats family.
Shawn felt a headache coming on as he thought about how to explain things to his grandmother.
Elaine, however, had already turned and left the dressing room.
In the banquet hall. Tracy and a few other high–society ladies were chatting, but Tracy’s face was clearly off. She smiled occasionally, but it was forced
Ella’s plan had fallen apart, and Tracy didn’t know how to explain it when she got hark
Elaine had never told her she would be walking the runway at the charity event, let alone that she would look so beautiful.
She had never known Elaine could walk the runway.
However, Tracy considered this a small trick. Walking a runway? Anyone could learn it from watching a video. It wasn’t like those international supermodels who could command hundreds of thousands of dollars per step. That was real skill
So Tracy didn’t think k much of today’s events.
Tracy still harbored some resentment toward Elaine, thinking she had intentionally upstaged Bianca at the charity eve
event, causing her to lose face. Was Elaine still obsessed with Finley? She claimed to be severing ties with him, to be breaking off the engagement, yet she was still showing off in front of the Scout family and Finley, trying to catch their attention!
The more Tracy thought about it, the more convinced she became
She was filled with frustration but had no outlet
Fortunately, Bianca didn’t act out too much. Even though she had been overshadowed by Elaine, her actions and words were well–managed, leaving no room for anyone to criticize
