Chapter 72
Tracy watched Bianca endure one humiliation after another at the charity event, and her heart ached for her.
Seeing Ella’s temper still flaring, fearing that Ella might take it out on Bianca, she quickly intervened, “Mom, tonight wasn’t about Bianca being worse than Elaine, you know how humble Bianca is. Even though I didn’t know Elaine could play the cello, with Bianca’s level, she surely wouldn’t be outdone by someone like Elaine, who’s an amateur.”
“Besides, if Elaine were really better than Bianca, she’d be a renowned d musician or a master by now, Why isn’t she known in the music world? What do you think, Mom?”
These were Tracy’s true thoughts, ones she had mulled over during the drive home
Bianca had been raised by her from a young age, how could she possibly be ourdone by someone mised by a scavenger? le didn’t make sense.
So, it must have been Bianca’s choice to les Elaine win the competition. If not, Elaine would have been utterly embarrassed today, and Carson and his daughter wouldn’t have let her off easily.
Ella nodded thoughtfully. “Bianca is just too kind and too humble. But Elaine–she’s ruthless and has no mercy for Bianca. Next time, Bianca cannot continue to give in to her. Bianca has worked so hard to maintain this perfect image in the entertainment industry; she can’t afford any negative publicity, not even a bit. Otherwise, she’ll never get the position of the Scott family’s young mistress”
Tracy nodded in agreement. “Don’t worry, Mom, I know. I’ll make sure to properly educate Bianca‘
Shawn, listening to his mother and grandmother’s convertion, didn’t agree.
From Elaine’s recent series of actions, he couldn’t help but feel she was more than what they had originally thought. He had a feeling there was something more to her.
Shawn used to think he understood her, but now, as he replayed everything in his mind, the signs were all there. thought
He wandered out of the living room, his mind lost in thought, when he ran into Tucker.

Shawn didn’t answer that question directly. Instead, he said, “Don’t worry, she was fine at the charity event. Not only did she not serve as backdrop, she wasn’t trampled on either. In fact….
Tucker’s eyes widened in surprise as Shawn’s words made him pause, cutting in urgently, “Shawn, you’ve seen Elaine, haven’t you? She’s the one who made you say this, right”
Before Elaine went to the charity event, Tucker had tried to stop her from wearing that dress to protect her from harm. But Elaine didn’t seem to
Her cold indifference had shaken him, and a deep sense of loss had overwhelmed him again. He had never imagined his sister would be so distant from him.
Now, he realized that from the moment Elaine woke up in the hospital, she had already decided to sever all ties with them. She had chosen to be a stranger to them.
He wished he had noticed the change earlier. If he had, would they have avoided this fate? But it w

Elaine really had no intention of coming back. She didn’t want to be his sister anymore, nor would she forgive him. She had made and that hurt more than anything

All this time without Elaine. Tucker felt a hollow emptiness, as if something important was missing. The entire Yeats family seemed to have lost its vibrancy without her

But, did Shawn’s words mean that Elaine was starting to forgive him?
Unfortunately, the next words from Shawn shattered that tiny hope.

Chapter 72
“I did see her, but those words aren’t from her. Shawn said with a deep sigh. “She said from now on, we’re not to involve ourselves in her life. Shell never forgive us. I’m telling you this because I know you feel guilty about her, and I didn’t want you worrying that she might be in trouble at the charity event”
Tucker felt his heart sink as the last bit of hope vanished. The coldness in Shawn’s words rang true to what Elaine would say now,

Tucker gave a bitter laugh, muttering to himself, “Of course, how could I expect her to forgive me? She did so much for me, and In appreciated it. Now..
“Shawn, I always thought… I thought she would come back. I thought we’d go back to how we were. But I can see now that Elaine doesn’t need my concern. Just like how I didn’t appreciate her kindness back then, she doesn’t feel the need for my concern now”
Tucker’s voice cracked as he spoke, unable to continue. He wanted to say, “Shawn, we were wrong. We really were wrong
Shawn’s heart ached as he listened to Tucker’s words. He realized that he had thought the same way before.
That’s why he had taken Elaine for granted, belittling her for Bianca’s sake, assuming she would always forgive him.
He thought that no matter how bad things got, Elaine would eventually get over it.
But this time, she didn’t. This time, she silently chose to cut them off
Shawn finally understood, though a bit too late, that Elaine really wasn’t coming back

“Shawn, please…” Tucker’s voice was heavy, his emotions threatening to spill over.
Shawn’s voice came out hoarse, “I don’t know what to say either. I don’t know how to face this truth–that my sister doesn’t want this family

Tucker’s eyes, Eilled with a mix of mockery and sorrow, turned towards Shawn. “So now you realize you were wrong? You always thought you had everything under control, just because you’re the eldest son. You assumed you could manage everything. And now! Now you’re facing the consequences”
