Chapter 151
Bianca’s expression had never been this stiff. Her confidence in her ability to mask her emotions completely failed her as she stared, dumbfounded, at Elaine approaching them. Zachary’s booming laughter rang in her ears, a dull roar drowning out her thoughts.
In Bianca’s mind, Elaine had always been an unremarkable older sister.
And yet, in a complete twist of fate, Elaine was now the president of the Cello Association. Not only had Elaine earned Zachary’s approval, but she had also gained the nation’s recognition.
Though widely regarded as the best cellist in Boynton, Bianca’s fame amounted to little more than empty recognition. She had never doubted that the presidency of the association would one day belong to her.
This cruel reality was hard for the arrogant Bianca to accept,
In her mind, anyone could have become the president of the Cello Association–anyone but Elaine.
Elaine was the one person she had always looked down on, the one she had deemed inferior.
And yet, it was precisely Elaine who now sat in the we hel
Coveted.
Elaine did not even bother to look at Bianca. She said, “It’s been a long time since we last met, Mr. Yates.
Zachary said. “You linle lass Why didn’t you invite me to your engagement party! Are you looking down on me, thinking that I’m old and I can’t keep up with your generation? You don’t want to let me in on the fun!”
Abbot had been casually reclining on the sofa, but his eyes nearly popped out of his head when he saw what just happened.
He had known Zachary for so long, but this was the first time he had ever seen Zachary smiling like a kid. He was practically acting coquettish toward Elaine.
Abbot chuckled. “Elaine’s absolutely incredible! I guess I should start following her around–let’s see if Zachary and Kingsley still dare to boss me
Cheryl stared at him speechlessly
She thought, “With a younger brother like that, it’s hard to say whether Mr. Morgan should count it as a blessing or a misfortune
Elaine noticed Zachary’s childlike sulking and smiled softly. “I planned to invite you, but when my mother–in–law showed me the guest list yesterday, I saw your name. So, I thought I’d surprise you.
“How as Mrs. Yates been? The last time we talked, she mentioned looking for a particular cello but couldn’t find it. I’ve already arranged for it to be delivered to her.”
“You are so thoughtful” Zachary said with a smile before turning to Bianca. “As for the President position at the Cello Association—yes, it was left open for a while. But the reason it remained unfilled wasn’t due to a lack of candidates.
“Plenty of people were eager for it–some highly experienced, others incredibly talented. However, from the very beginning, that position was meant for Elaine”
These words alone were enough to highlight Flaine’s exceptional mastery of the cello–it was both an acknowledgment and a compliment.
So many people had competed for this position, yet none of them could compare to Elaine, who had secured it effortlessly.
Bianca’s expression turned sour, but she still forced a smile. “I see. I had heard that the former president of the Cello Association retired, leaving the position open. I thought I might have a chance at it.
“Oh, by the way, I once shared a sisterly bond with Elaine, but she has already severed ties with the Yeats family.”
Bianca was mentioning this on purpose.
“Oh?“Zachary sounded a little surprised. “I didn’t know about that. So, you all used to be a family? Elaine never mentioned it to me before.”
Zachary was not aware of the full story y behind it…
Elaine smiled faintly, the corners of her mouth curving slightly as she replied, “Such painful memories aren’t worth bringing up anymore.”
Her words about those painful memories sent Harlan spiraling into misery once again..

Chapter 151
It was clear that, in Elaine’s eyes, they were just part of those painful pasts.
Even though Shawn and Tucker had come to terms with things in their own way, hearing Elaine describe them in such a detached and indifferent tone still stung
From the beginning to the end, they were the ones at fash
How incredibly foolish they were to have completely misunderstood Elaine
They could not believe that Elaine was the president of the Cello Association.
Bianca was shocked; even Shirley was left stunned. No
No one in the room had expected such a dramatic
e turn of events.
The first shock was the revelation that the powerful figure in Lento City whom Bianca and Finley had been trying to impress actually knew Elaine.
Second, the position of president at the Cello Association that Bianca was after was already filled by Elaine.
Shirley found this revelation to be a truly pleasant surprise.
Bianca asked, “Elaine, how are you the president! Why didn’t you mention it previously?”
Elaine turned to Bianca with a smile and a slightly imposing look. “I didn’t think it was necessary to say this before, but since Mr. Yates has recognized me, I guess I don’t need to keep it a secret anymore.
Bianca, since I’m no longer part of the Yeats family, there’s really no reason for you to keep bringing up our past, right! Otherwise, I could easily believe you’re now trying to latch onto me, especially with my position as the president of the association.
“I could easily lead to misunderstandings. You’ve always been a proud person, so I’m sure you wouldn’t want me to think that of you would you? That would be rather beneath you, wouldn’t it?”
Once Elaine finished speaking. Bianca fell silent, her fingers digging into her p
palm in frustration
She understood that Elaine was doing this on purpose.
Elaine had once again set a trap today, waiting for Bianca to walk right into it.
Elaine had known Zachary for some time and had already become the president of the Cello Association, but she had never mentioned it to
anyone.
Bianca thought about how she had been trying so hard to please Zachary, while Elaine just stood in the corner, watching her like she was a fool, Elaine waited for Bianca to make a fool of herself before stepping in, effortlessly turning the situation into one of humiliation.
Elaine ended up humiliating Bianca with these words, accusing Bianca of trying to latch onto her.
Everybody knew that
However, no one would sympathize with Bianca.
Bianca tried to keep her emotions in check. She offered a faint, apologetic smile to Elaine. “I’m sorry, Elaine. I did lose control today. I promise I won’t bring it up again”
Elaine
e gave a slight nod. “That’s for the best. You know I can’t stand anyone bringing up the Yeats family in front of me, and I really can’t bear talking about my past with them–it only brings bad luck.”
Elaine showed no mercy with her words toward Bianca.
By now, the others had quickly put the pieces of the story together and were happily watching Bianca get her comeuppance.
Bianca nodded again. “Yes, I’ll remember that.”
Hannah gave a small
put to her chest, took a sip of her drink, and exchanged a meaningful
mningful look with the women across from her.
Looks like Bianca’s completely beaten by Elaine, Hannah thought to herself. “Well, this engagement banquet turned out to be quite the event–so many twists! We’ll definitely have a lot to gossip about during the next soiree,”
Seeing that Bianca had fallen silent, Elaine decided not to engage with her anymore and continued her conversation with Zachary,
