Samuel’s grip was surprisingly strong; no matter how much I struggled, he remained unmoved, relentlessly pulling me toward the
“Can’t you hear Natalie say she doesn’t want to?”
Matthew, unable to bear seeing me wronged, finally stepped in. The usually calm and friendly man couldn’t hold back any longer and got into a scuffle with Samuel.
This time, both men were putting all their energy into trying to overpower each other, each blow landing harder than the last.
As the situation escalated to such a serious degree, the hotel staff had no choice but to call the police.
Two policemen arrived quickly, and along with several gentlemen present, they struggled to separate Samuel and Matthew. Two hours later, after giving my statement, I walked out behind Matthew.}
Since it was just a mutual fight with no significant external impact.
The police decided not to impose any administrative detention, considering both men were first–time offenders.”
To prevent further trouble, Samuel was detained at the station and would be released half an hour after I left.
Matthew apologized to me, “It’s my fault for acting impulsively, Natalie, I’m sorry.“}
I shook my head. “I should be thanking you, Matthew. I really appreciate your help.“>
Seeing that I showed no signs of anger, Matthew breathed a sigh of relief.”
He safely dropped me off at home, and before leaving, he cautiously asked if he could continue pursuing me.
After all, I was his first love.
He said, “You might think I’m pursuing you just to fulfill my long–standing crush, but after today, I’m sure my feelings for you are not just a fleeting infatuation. Natalie, you’re even stronger and better than I imagined.”
Faced with Matthew’s sincere confession, I thought for a moment and replied, “I need some time to think things over. Thank you for bringing me back, Matthew.”
I felt a bit guilty; up to now, I had only seen Matthew as a quality companion worth dating to pass the time.
Matthew seemed to understand my feelings. He smiled and said.
“Alright, I’ll follow your lead. It’s windy outside; you should go in. Goodnight, Natalie.”
Once back home, I opened the fridge and drank an entire glass of ice water.}
The refreshing chill instinctively made me smile.
My phone lit up with a WhatsApp friend request.
The message was simple: a man’s name–Richard Lee.}
I thought for a while before vaguely recalling what this man looked like.
Wow. I called Sarah via video with a hint of annoyance.”
As expected, my WhatsApp ID was given to Richard by her.
“Natalie, he’s now a hot young actor, not the little drama club junior you once knew! He reached out to me first; how could I not oblige.”
“You definitely got something from him, you scheming Sarah. Be honest. You know what I mean.”
“Alright, alright, he just gave me a few super hard–to–get concert tickets. Anyway, if you don’t want to deal with him, just quietly delete him in a few days.“@
Before I could scold Sarah for prioritizing profit over friendship, Richard sent me a message.
[Natalie, are you free this weekend? I still owe you a few meals.]
