At the sound coming from the door, Isadora went closer to see who it was: “Eric.” Isadora gasped, surprise written all over her face.
“Hi Dora, I’ve missed you,” Eric beamed, pulling her into a warm embrace.
“Eric, is this you? I’ve been worried sick; you made me really worried; come in; don’t stand there.” Isadora pulled him into the room and to the sitting room.
“Sit down; do you need anything? I can order something for you.” Isadora probed.
“No, I’ve missed your cooking, though.” At his words, Isadora flashed him a sweet smile.
You only ate my food twice,” she reminded him.

“Yes, and after that, Damon stopped me from visiting you because he was scared that I was going to steal you from him.” Eric snickered, and Isadora smiled. “You’re still the same; I love it.” She commented.
“Yes, how have you been? You look your best; I love it.”
“Thank you, Eric; I’m grateful for your help. I’ve been trying to reach you. Wait, how did you get here? How did you locate me?”
“It’s easy; I had your number; I just wanted to surprise you.”
“You mean you came to Lovestruck City just to surprise me?” Isadora narrowed her brows in disbelief, and Eric laughed. His manly laughter filled the entire space.
“Would you believe me if I said that?”
“No, I won’t believe you,” Isadora said, shaking her head with laughter of her own.
“Well, I had business here, and then I somehow discovered that you were close by, so I visited you.”
“Hmm,” Isadora said, raising her brows even higher. “I’ll pretend I understand what you just said. Let me get you a glass of water.” Isadora disappeared and reappeared with a tray that contained a cold glass of water. She placed it in front of him. “I could get you bottled water if you want.”
“No, this should be enough,” he said, taking a sip. “Refreshing,” he commented before drinking the water.
“Thank you; that was truly refreshing,” he acknowledged, and Isadora nodded in agreement.
“You’re sure you don’t want to eat; you’re not hungry.”
“No, I can wait for dinner; I’m not in a hurry.”
“Okay, that sounds good too; no objections,” Isadora declared before taking her seat opposite his.
“Why couldn’t I get through to you?”
“Oh, I lost my phone on my way here.”
“You lost your phone?” Isadora stared at him, surprised at his confession.
“Yes, I thought I saved it in my pants, but it must have slipped out or something. I’ve gotten a new one, but I’m yet to recover my contacts and documents.”

“That’s quite surprising.” Isadora confessed, and Eric smiled shyly.
“It’s embarrassing, I know.”
“That’s not what I meant,” Isadora gasped, and Eric busted out laughing. Isadora joined him, and they laughed for a while before stopping.
“I’ve really missed you,” Eric confessed.
“I’ve missed you too, Eric; it’s just that…” The words of Damon suddenly crept into her thoughts, interrupting her words to
Eric.
I’ve missed you. Damon also said those words to her. He also confessed to missing her. That unholy man.
“Isadora, are you okay?”
“Huh?”
“Are you okay? You suddenly stopped talking.” Eric stared at her, concern laced in his tone.
“I’m perfect; I suddenly recalled something unpleasant.”
“What did you recall? Do you mind sharing it with me?”
“It’s not worth sharing, Eric; do not mind me. So where did I stop?” Isadora smiled, and Eric’s past worries disappeared.
“Did I forget to compliment your looks? You look younger than I remember. I think you are growing backwards instead, holy shit.” Eric gasped, and Isadora gasped with him. The sudden exchange caused the two of them to laugh again.
“You are really something, Eric.”
“Why did you look at me like that? You were supposed to acknowledge the fact that I complimented your looks.”
“No, you sounded funny, so I couldn’t help it,” Isadora said, shaking her head.
“It’s nice to see you so lively, Dora, it’s really nice. Although you’ve always been carefree and cheerful around us, you seem more lively. This is great!”
“Well, it’s all thanks to my son and my accomplishment.”
“Yes, as for your son, why haven’t I seen him? Didn’t you bring him along?”
“He is busy in his room; he rarely spends time outside his room. Should I get him for you?”
“No, I don’t want him to be disturbed. I can see him when he is free,” Eric objected.
“Are you sure?”
“I hate disturbing people, especially kids. I don’t like seeing that unhappy look on those faces. My sister’s children always have that frown, so I’ve gotten allergic to it.”
Eric and Isadora kept going back and forth with their talks until it was a little late.
“Will you sleep here? There is an extra room if you’d like to,” Isadora proposed.
“No, I won’t; I will return to my hotel; it’s not far from this one. I’ll return after dinner.”
“Are you sure?”

Chapter 11
“Definitely!”
“Okay, let me get Asher then; it’s about time we eat dinner.” Isadora left and came back with her son.
“Woah, is that him?” Eric stood to his feet at the sight of Asher.
“He is taller than I imagined,” Eric confessed.
“Yes, he is; that’s what they all say.” Asher This is Eric; you can call him Uncle Eric. He is my friend, an old friend.
“Hi Asher, How’re you, man?” Eric moved closer to Asher to shake his hand but froze when he saw his face clearly.
Holy shit!
“Hi, I’m Asher.” The voice of Asher pulled Eric from his reverie.
“Hiii… man, how’re you doing?” Eric’s eyes accidentally met Isadora’s own, and she gave him a knowing look.
The fuck. Why does Asher look so much like Damon?

It can only mean one thing. Even his age. Asher’s age can also be considered evidence–evidence that Asher is Damon’s son.
So does it mean that Isadora was pregnant with Damon’s son when Damon divorced and threw her out?
“Let’s move to the dining room,” Isadora said, and Asher quickly took the lead.
“Dora, is it what I’m thinking?” Eric whispered so that only Isadora could hear him.
“What?” Isadora acted dumb.
“Asher is Damon’s son?” Eric asked, but Isadora didn’t give an immediate reply. When she didn’t talk, Eric continued.
“Does Asher know who his father is?”
“Nope.” Isadora suddenly found her tongue.
“No?” Damon whispered back.
“Who is Damon? Did you say that he is my father?” When they got to the dining room, Asher suddenly threw the question at Isadora.
Isadora gasped. Has he been listening to her conversation with Eric?
