Chapter 15
“So you mean you two are divorced?”
“Yes, baby, we are no longer together.”
“But why did he look surprised to see me?”
“After we divorced, I found out that I was actually pregnant with you; he didn’t know I was pregnant back then; he was just finding out about you,” Isadora explained.
“Hey, why aren’t you saying anything?” After some minutes of silence, Isadora asked her son.
“I don’t know what to say; I didn’t expect you two to be divorced.” Asher lowered his shoulders in resignation. “I was hoping…” He took a deep breath.
“Don’t worry about it, mama, but can I see him?”
“You want to see him?”
“Is it possible to see him? If you don’t want to, I won’t force it,” Asher told.
“Let me think about it; I’ll get back to you, okay? Come out for dinner in fifteen minutes; I’ll go set the table; I’ll also tell you about my date,” Isadora smiled as she touched his cheek.
“Okay, I’ll be waiting.” Isadora stood up and left the dining room.

“Sir, I’ve obtained the details of the man who harassed you at the parking lot.” Brio Canto’s assistant walked towards him with a printed message.
“Did you link it to the woman I was with today?”
“Yes, I looked for the connections between the two of them but couldn’t find anything.”
“There is definitely something between them; dig deeper into it.”
“Yes sir.”
“Tell me about that man.”
“His name is Asher Leonardo Rogers; he is the only legitimate son of Mr. Rogers, who is popularly known as Axe Man in the underworld.”
“Axe man?” Brio Canto turned his attention towards his assistant, his expression full of surprise.
“Yes. However, according to what I gathered, he has separated from his father and is now working on his own. He is very
close friends with Mr. Rollings; he has worked with him since his separation from Mr. Axe Man.”
“That sounds interesting, but what I’m more concerned about is his relationship with Ms: Isadora. Why did he have that look on his face? There is definitely something between them.”
“Sir, are you interested in Ms. Isadora?”
“I’m only trying to get to know her since we’ll work together; getting to know her is not wrong. Gather all the information you can get on those two.”

Chapter 15
“Yes, sir.” With a bow, his assistant turned and walked out of his room.
After his assistant left, he brought out his phone and dialled Isadora’s number.
“Good evening, Ms. Isadora.” After she picked up the call, he greeted her.
“This sounds like Mr. Brio,” Isadora’s reply came.
“Yes, the only Brio.” At his reply, Isadora chuckled.,
“Good evening to you too.”
“Yes, have you checked in? I’m calling to confirm.”
“Yes, I have; thank you for asking.”
“Good. I hope you’ll be available for our next meeting, which is tomorrow.”
“Sure, totally. I’m down for it. See you tomorrow, and I wish you success in tomorrow’s game.”
“Haha, that’s true. I also wish you success, Ms.; see you tomorrow.” After his words, the call got disconnected.

The Next Day
“Sir, Ms. Isadora just left her room; you can go in now.” Steve immediately entered Damon’s room to inform him.
“Okay.” Damon picked up his jacket and rushed out of the room. He took the elevator down to Isadora’s floor before stopping in front of her room.
“Asher,” he whispered, knocking on the door.
“Asher, it’s me, Damon. Open the door.” He kept calling until he heard Asher’s footsteps near the door.
“Go away; Mom will be mad if she finds you here,” his voice said.
“I just want to speak to you; it won’t take long.”
“No! Mom hasn’t given her permission; she’s going to get mad if I open the door for you.”
“No, I’m not asking you to come out; I can come in if you want; I can even stay out here; I just need to talk to you.”
“Okay, what is it? I’m listening.”
“Did your mom speak to you last night?”
“No.” Asher drew his answer.
“No? You’re lying.”
“I’m not!”
“I know it! That’s how I also lie, so I know.”
“No, you don’t!”
“Did she tell you that I am your father and that we are divorced?” I bet she didn’t tell you the whole thing. I messed up; I’m the reason why your mother and I are not together again, but I need you to help me. I need your help.”

Chapter 15
“You want me to talk to her?” After a few seconds of silence, Asher asked.
“No, talking to her won’t solve it. I have a plan.”
“But why did you hurt Mom? She’s a good woman; why would you hurt her?”
“I guess I should tell you the whole truth; I think you’ll understand me.” Damon slowly recounted the events of the past to his young son, and after he was done with the story, Asher opened the door.
“Really?” Asher looked bewildered. “Mom needs to know this; why don’t
you tell her?”
“I have once tried, but she wasn’t interested; she has simply lost interest in me. I need to build back that interest.” Damon moved closer and gently took his hand. Asher snatched his hand away, but on a second thought, he let Damon hold him.
“It’s not happening,” Asher’s eyes widened. “I’m not getting any of those weird feelings,” Asher said, looking happy.
“Well, you can’t get it since I am your father; this condition runs in my family; my father also has it; although he has managed to cure himself, he also had it in the past.”
“It has a cure?”
“It has, not medically; it is a training that involves the mind.”
“Can you teach me? I don’t have any friends because of this; I also want to have a friend, and Mom also doesn’t like it.”
“I’m ready to teach you anything you want, my boy, and I can also be your first friend; how do you see it?”

“Cool, I like it.” Asher bobbed his head. Damon’s eyes moved and gradually settled on Asher’s curly hair; a smile marred his face as he slowly reached to touch it.
“What?” Asher couldn’t help but ask.
“You are just like me; it’s unbelievable.” Damon admitted, “This was my exact appearance when I was your age. Your hair will straighten up as you age.”
“Really? I hate these curls.”
“I disliked my curls too,” Damon revealed, and his confession made Asher chuckle.
“Okay, tell me your plans. I’ll help get you and Mommy back together.”
