Chapter 17
Damon spoke to the couple occupying the table beside Isadora’s own, and they agreed to let him have the table. The couple relocated to a different table, and Damon occupied it, sitting directly beside Isadora.
Brio had the nerve to block his view. The nerve of that damned man.
“Is this the new table?” The men he was discussing deals with moved to the table with him.
“I apologize for the sudden transfer.” Damon forced a small smile, and the men nodded in acceptance.
The men continued their talks where they left them, and Damon pretended to be listening, but his attention was in fact far from them. He focused his gaze on Brio this time, boring holes into his thick skin.
“Ignore him: let’s place our order” After a while, Brio cleared his throat and said to her.
“This is so embarrassing: I’m sincerely sorry for this,” Isadora apologized once more.
“Well, if you are truly sorry, then you can save me by explaining your relationship with him. Can you explain it to me?”
“Well, Isadora said, moving her shoulders reluctantly.
“Why don’t we order first?”
“Okay,” Brio called for a server, and one arrived to take their orders. After placing their orders, Brio turned to Isadora for her explanation again.
“So can you tell me about your relationship with him now? I feel that I should know at this point.”
“We just knew each other from the past; there is nothing much; I don’t know why he is acting like this either.” Isadora tried to laugh it off but failed.
“I think you are lying to me; only a jealous man would bore holes into the skin of another man because of a woman.”
“Okay, we used to be lovers.”
“Lovers?”
“Can you elaborate on that?”
“We dated for a while, then we broke up. It’s his fault that we are no longer together. I honestly don’t know why he is acting like this. It’s high time he moved on.” Isadora let out a frustrated sigh.
“If he is acting like this, it means he still loves you. How long has it been since you ended it with him?”
“Five years; it’s been five years.”
“Five years?” Brio exclaimed softly; he really wasn’t expecting that answer.
Isadora chuckled nervously, and he took a deep breath.
“I think I agree that it’s high time he moved on,” Brio snickered.
“The first time I heard about you was three years ago, around May. I saw the recipe you created and went on to try it. I loved it immediately but couldn’t reach out to you because most of your information was hidden. To summarize, I’ve been meaning to work with you; let’s create something magical, something the world has never known.”
“I’m grateful for the opportunity, Mr. Brio; I’m more than ready to work with you.” Thankful for the sudden change of topic,

Isadora smiled beautifully at him. Talking about her past was difficult, especially since it involved Damon.
Just then, the servers came with their order and placed it carefully on the table.
“I’ll start with the red wine.” Isadora hastily grabbed the red wine glass and tried to take a sip, but she didn’t understand how a little potion of the red wine spilled on her dress.
“Oh my gosh!” Isadora gasped and tried to take the stain off her dress,
“Let me help you,” Brio offered. He came closer to her and tried to dap the area with his white hanky, but the sudden smash on the table had both Brio and Isadora flinching.
They turned their heads to see Damon on his feet. He looked angry. No. Furious, Ready to pounce.
“Let me do it in the restroom: excuse me, please” Isadora stepped away before looking for a waiter. The waiter directed her to the restroom, and she thanked the waiter before rushing away.
Brio and Damon started a staring competition after Isadora left, none willing to back down.
Brio wasn’t going to give in easily. He can’t let Damon win. And Damon, on the other hand, was determined to win this little, unplanned game between them. He was Damon after all, and he never lost in a fight. He has never lost before, and he was not planning to do so now.
“Capo, is something the matter?” The men with him asked, and he gave them a sigh to let him be. Damon and Brio continued glaring at each other until Isadora returned from the restroom. Isadora returned to find Brio still on his feet. Immediately, Brio noticed Isadora, he moved his gaze away and focused on her.
“Why are you still standing? You should have sat down,” Isadora chuckled.
“I was waiting for you,” Brio lied before throwing a glance at Damon’s way. This game is not over yet, he thought before returning his gaze to Isadora.
“I’m sorry about that…”
Damon moved his chair closer to Isadora and Brio’s table after dismissing the men with him.
Isadora and Brio watched in surprise as he drew his chair until he was sitting at the same table as them.
“What is the meaning of this?” Isadora could no longer ignore him, even if she wanted to. Their feet were now touching each other.
“Nothing; continue with your discussion.”
“Nothing? Why are you here?” Isadora couldn’t believe her eyes. Damon must have completely lost his mind.
“I have an unfinished business with him,” Damon pointed out.
“Do you two know each other?” Turning to Brio, Isadora asked.
“Yes, like he said, we have unfinished business to do,” Brio replied.
“I
I guess we should end our discussion here then.”
“Yes, end it; it’s high time you end it,” Damon quickly said in support.
“No, we are not done yet, unless you want us to come back tomorrow,” Brio said to her.

“You have grown obsessed, and now you want to go out with her every day,” Damon scoffed at Brio’s words.
Ignoring Damon’s words, Brio said, “I think we should conclude our business here today; you are right; let me take you back to the hotel.” Brio stood up, and Damon stood up with him.
“What are you doing?” Isadora had to ask him.
“I’m going back with you. He’ll drive us,” Damon answered before taking the lead.
