Chapter 18
Damon stood in Brio’s way as Brio made to enter his car.
Tm coming with you: remember our unfinished business, Damon reminded him.
“Alright, get into the car”
“No, give me the keys; I’ll drive
“You do understand that This Is My Car Brio made sure to lay emphasis on
“I know, but I hate when others drive me. I’ll drive: hand the keys over,” Damon insisted.
“Okay,” Brio gave in after a while and let Damon drive the car.
“Get in.” Damon watched as Brio entered the passenger side before taking his seat in front of the wheels.
He got in the car and drove out of the restaurant.

Twenty minutes later, Brio looked up from his phone to check their current location; he and Isadora had been glued to their phones the whole time and didn’t notice how Damon took a different route.
“Where are you driving us to? This is not the way to the hotel,” Brio took in his surroundings before saying. At Brio’s words, Isadora also looked up, she had been completely engrossed in her phone and didn’t notice how time passed.
“Don’t worry, I’m only taking a longer route.”
Why are you taking a longer route when there is a shorter one?” Brio focused his gaze on Damon. This man must be out of his mind.
“I just feel like it; hold on tight,” Damon smirked at Brio before increasing the speed of the vehicle.
“Damon, what the hell?” Isadora screamed at the sudden speed of the car. Was he trying to drive them to hell? He must have completely lost his mind.
I’m trying to reach the hotel fast since your beloved isn’t happy.” Damon increased the speed of the car again, prompting Brio and Isadora to hold on tight for their lives.
“You need to stop this nonsense!” Brio cautioned.
“Are you scared?”
“This is not about being scared; you can’t do this when she’s here with us.” At Brio’s words, Damon brought the car to an abrupt stop.
“Damon you…!” Isadora rushed at him and landed a few punches from behind before sinking her teeth into his neck to bite him.
Why was he always scaring her? This is how he would often scare her in the past, and this is how she could often react after being scared by him.
Wait… Damnit!
Isadora took her seat again after recalling the past. Damn that man. He wasn’t even apologizing.

“Brio, please drive us back to the hotel,” Isadora requested after taking her seat.
“I can…” Damon tried to speak.

“No, not you!” Isadora cut him off. No matter what, Brio shouldn’t have allowed him to drive. He shouldn’t have given the keys to him. Isadora suspected that he would behave this way, but she didn’t voice it out. She didn’t want Damon to know that she still thinks of the past.

“Sure!” Brio came down from the passenger seat and went to the driver’s side. Without a word, Jaxon vacated the driver’s seat for Brio, but instead of sitting in the passenger seat, he went to the back and sat down beside Isadora.
Isadora opened her mouth and tried to question him, but on second thought, she closed her mouth. Engaging him in a conversation was something she didn’t want to do.
Brio took the wheels, and a few minutes later they arrived at the hotel.
“Dora…” Damon tried to touch her, but she moved away from him and rushed down from the car.
“Thank you so much, Mr. Brio, and I’m sorry that today didn’t work out as planned; let’s communicate later.”
“Yes, I’ll contact you. Brio came closer and tried to hug her, but she immediately took a step back, pulling away.
“I’ll get going now; see you,” she added before turning on her heels and disappearing through the exit of the parking lot.
After watching her leave, Mr. Brio turned his focus on Damon.
“You got what you wanted; what’s next?” Brio asked him.
“I bet you are annoyed that she refused your hug,” Damon grinned. He had seen it all. He saw how Isadora avoided a hug from him. The image filled his heart with so much joy.
“Stop talking nonsense, Mr. I’m
t like you.”
“Nah, you should learn how to admit defeat; I know your ego is hurt.” Damon moved closer to Brio with a mocking smile.
“I’m not interested in Ms. Isadora; she’s simply my work.”
“Is that what you truly think?”
“Excuse me?”
“I get
“I’ll get going now.” Damon turned to leave, but Brio’s voice stopped him in his tracks.
“You are forgetting something, Mr.”
“What is it?” Damon asked without turning to look at him.
“In the game, we need a winner.”
“What do you suggest?”

“Let’s drink; the person who gets drunk first loses,” Mr. Brio suggested. “But
an refuse if you are scared,” he smirked.
“Scared?” Damon turned and walked back to him. “Let’s do it now, at the bar, right. Damon pointed, and Brio’s smirk
widened.
“Sure!”

A few hours later.
Drunk Damon took the elevator up and stopped in front of Isadora’s room. He started knocking on the door and didn’t stop till she opened up.
“Damon?!” She gasped and watched as he stumbled into her room, almost falling on her.
“Damon, it’s past midnight; what the hell are you doing here?” Isadora couldn’t believe her eyes as she watched a drunk Damon go further into the room. Is he being serious?
Isadora locked the door and quickly rushed to stop him before he could open Asher’s room.
“What the hell are you doing?” She grabbed his arm and pulled him away from Asher’s door.
“Go to your room right now.” Isadora tried to escort him to the door, but he refused.
“Damon, it’s not funny; I don’t like this,” she warned, and she tried to move him again, but he refused.
Isadora went behind him and tried pushing him forward, but he stood there like he was some unmovable object.
When she saw that he wasn’t moving, she came to his front and tried to pull him forward. She grabbed his arm and pulled him with all the strength she could gather, and to her surprise, Damon moved. He moved forward and fell on her body. “Damn, go away.” Isadora tried to free herself, but she lost her balance in the process and collapsed on the floor with him.
