Isadora collapsed and continued shedding tears. As she cried, she thought of all that she had gone through and all that she had survived because of her love for Damon. Four years ago, Damon had saved her from a group of bullies, and she had fallen in love with him because of this. It was love at first sight.
When she found out Damon’s real identity and discovered that he was not yet married, she had chased after him and proposed to him. To her surprise, Damon had accepted her marriage proposal without hesitation. This made her think that Damon was also in love with her. But she later discovered the reason behind Damon’s actions.
Damon had accepted her marriage proposal without hesitation because his parents wanted him to get married. They had been pressuring him, and he was never in love with her. Although she was a little heartbroken, she vowed to make Damon love her. She thought she was finally succeeding in her plans when Damon started opening up to her. He even started sleeping in the same bed with her, which was a big change for him.
But now, everything had suddenly ended. All the joy she had felt, all that excitement. The door slowly cracked open, and she saw the shadow of her favorite maid.
“Ma’am,” the girl sounded heartbroken.
The door opened again, and four other maids came into the room.
“He must have sent you to pack my things, but I don’t think I can leave. I can’t live without him,” Isadora confessed. She was madly in love with him, and she had never imagined living apart from him since they got married. To her, he was her life. She had even given up on her family to be with him.
“Ma’am, please,” her favorite maid came closer to her and held her hand.
“They might do something to you if you don’t leave,” she said.
“Madam, please, you need to listen to Felicia,” the other maids agreed. They all liked her. Isadora never treated them like maids; instead, she treated them like her own sisters. Every worker in that house loved and respected her.
“Maybe I can beg him to let me stay as his second wife. Maybe I should,” a new idea popped into her head, and she suddenly sprang up to her feet.
She rushed to the door and opened it to see her mother–in–law standing there.
“What are you still doing here?” Her mother–in–law grabbed her by the ear and started pulling her outside.
“Mother, please. Please let me talk to my husband. I promise I’ll get pregnant. Just give me two months, please, I beg you,” Isadora begged, but all her pleas fell on deaf ears.
Her mother–in–law dragged her to the gate and asked the guards to throw her and her things outside.
“Mother, please!” Isadora begged from outside the gate.
“I’ll stay here until you let me in. I won’t leave,” Isadora promised. She sat in front of the gate until it became dark.
A car drove up to her, and a male figure came out of the car. Isadora wrapped her arms around her body in fear. Everywhere was pretty dark, and she didn’t recognize the male figure.
The male figure walked up to her and stopped.
“Who are you? What do you want?” Isadora asked fearfully when the person just stood there wordlessly.

Chapter 2
“It’s me, Eric. What are you still doing there? You should find a safe place to stay.”
“Eric, Eric?” Isadora rushed to her feet. Eric was Damon’s only friend.
“Eric, please help me talk to Damon. Tell him to hear me out,” Isadora pleaded.
“I can’t help you with that. Damon has already made up his mind, and you know nothing can change his mind. You should leave at once,” Eric stated.
“No, you know how much I loved him, Eric. Please, let me speak to him, just once. I’ll convince him.” Isadora looked desperate, and this angered Eric.
“Go back to your family. They have been looking for you. I contacted them already,” Eric stated.
“What? You know my family?” Isadora moved back in shock.
“Come with me. I’ll take you to them,” Eric offered, but Isadora refused.
She took her seat in front of the gate and hugged herself.
“If you can’t help me out with Damon, then I suggest you leave me alone,” Isadora stated, looking determined.
Eric exhaled. “If you say so,” he agreed and left in his car.
Isadora kept sitting there until it was midnight, but she didn’t care. She was determined to see Damon. She was determined to talk to him. Unfortunately for her, it started raining around 2:00 am the next day. Having nowhere to hide, she was drenched by it.
Around 5:00 am, the rain finally stopped, but Isadora had already caught a fever from being in the rain for too long. She collapsed and was taken to the hospital by an unknown person.
Once she regained consciousness in the hospital, she looked around the hospital ward in confusion.
“How did I get here?” The nurse rushed to her and checked her vitals.
“What happened?” Isadora questioned the nurse.
“You are in the hospital. You had a high fever, but you are okay now. Your baby is also okay,” the nurse happily told her.
“What do you mean? What baby?”
“Huh? You aren’t aware? Ma’am, you are five weeks pregnant,” the nurse also stared at her in confusion.
“No, I think you have the wrong person. I’m barren. I can’t get pregnant,” Isadora shook her head in disbelief, and this further confused the nurse.
“But the test results clearly said you were five weeks pregnant, ma’am.”
“It’s not my result. Everyone knows I’m barren. It’s not possible,” Isadora didn’t want to believe the news. She had been sent out of her husband’s house for being barren. There is no way that she is carrying a child.
The nurse sighed and gently sat on the bed beside her.
“Okay, I think I know the problem here. The bruises on your body are also proof. I think you have been in an abusive relationship. Should we contact the police?” The nurse asked, but Isadora flinched.
“No! No! Don’t do that,” Isadora shook her head aggressively.
“We’ll protect you. You just need to give us-”

Chapter 2
“No, I insist. I want to leave,” Isadora removed the needle from her and stood up. But she couldn’t get far as a wave of migraine hit her, and she collapsed on the floor.
When she woke up in the evening, she saw a doctor and two other nurses discussing in a low tone.
“Hi,” she called, and they all turned to her.
“Miss? You are awake,” the doctor asked.
“Yes, is it true that I’m pregnant, or was it just a dream?” Isadora inquired while touching her stomach.

“It’s true, miss. I heard everything from Nurse Lucy. We should have delivered the news to you in a better way. I apologize if we somehow upset you. We didn’t know who you were then,” the doctor bowed, and the nurses also bowed with him.
“So, I’m pregnant? I’m carrying Damon’s child?” Isadora whispered in a low tone. She didn’t know how to feel about the news. The family had already kicked her out, and seeing that they weren’t in the hospital with her meant one thing.
“Miss, someone is here to see you. He has been waiting outside,” the doctor announced, and Isadora looked up.
“W…who?” She asked, somehow hoping that he could mention Damon’s name. But her eyes almost bulged out of their sockets when she heard a different name.
A name she feared and hated.
“Mr. Noah Levi is here to see you.”
