Chapter 20
Steve followed leadora into her room, only to find Damon sprang out on the floor
“That’s him ladora pointed at him
I am so sorry about this, he had too much to drink, and..
“Why didn’t you come looking for him?” Tadors interrupted; it was Steve’s job to know Damon’s whereabouts.
He asked me not to.
“He asked you not to?” Isadora stared at Steve in disbelief.

Isadora cautioned. “Take him away and send a warning to him, ask him never to repeat this” She couldn’t sleep last night because of him
“Yes ma’am,” Steve lifted him to his feet and helped him out of the room.
“Goodness” Isadora sank into her bed and picked up her phone. She immediately checked her phone, and she noticed several messages from different individuals.
“Huh, what’s this? She continued scrolling through the messages until she stopped at the PR’s message.
“Ma’am, we have been trying to reach you. There is big trouble. We are being charged with food adulteration.” The text read.
Isadora immediately dialled her line after the text; the call went through, and she picked up on the third ring.
“Hello ma’am, we have been trying to reach you and Mr. John; we feared something might have happened to you two.”
“We’re fine; what is this about? I saw your text.”
“Yes, early this morning we got the news that someone reported us for food adulteration. Everyone has been restless since the news broke out, especially since you are not here with us.”
“Why would someone report us for adulteration?” Isadora found it difficult to understand. She ensures that everyone who works with her follows the rules, and she inspects most of the ingredients used in cooking as well.
What was this?
Isadora disconnected the call and immediately dialled John’s line.
“Hello, ma’am,” John answered with a sleepy tone.
“Are you still asleep?”
“Huh? No! I woke up a few minutes ago.”
“Did you check your messages?”
“My messages?” When John opened his messages, he found a large number of them.
“Huh, what is this?” He rose from his bed and jumped down.
“Please give me a minute; I’ll be with you shortly.”
Isadora disconnected the call and dropped her phone. She rose to her feet and started pacing about the room.

Chapter 20
What is happening? Who could report her business for such crimes?
Isadora kept pacing about until John joined her.
“I went through some of the messages and articles published on my way here.”
We didn’t commit such crimes; I think it’s a false allegation.” On his way to her room, John thought hard about it.
“False allegations?”

“Someone wants to bring you down.” New reports are coming in that we sell contaminated food products to our customers; it doesn’t make sense. This is a false allegation, ma’am,” John affirmed.
“We need to return.” I’ll hire an investigator to look into this.”
“I support your decision, but the public opinion has started to turn against us; the public has gone crazy with reviews,” John continued, scrolling through people’s comments on a particular blog.
“It doesn’t matter; I’ll uncover the truth.” Just then, her phone started ringing, and she looked at the number on display.
Mr. Levi.
Why was he calling? Isadora picked up her phone and tried to answer the call, but suddenly paused as a memory rushed back at her.
Dad is very angry. He is threatening to harm your food company. You should be careful.
Dad is very angry. Be careful.
Her uncle’s warnings.
Her favourite uncle had warned her several times about her grandfather.
“Hello,” she said, slowly picking up the phone.
“Come back home; it’s high time.” Her grandfather’s voice rang through the phone.
“Did you… did you do this?”
“Come back! “If not, I’ll do more harm to that tiny business of yours,” he said, then disconnected the call.
After the call disconnected, Isadora gasped and nearly lost her balance.
“Ms., are you okay?” John’s eyes widened as he neared her.
“Who was that on the phone? Does it concern the company?” John led her to the bed and had her sit down.
“My grandfather. He is responsible for this.” Mr. Levi had always threatened her; when she first ventured into it, he threatened to harm her business. He had threatened her for the past four years, but for some reason, he never carried out his threats, so she had come to take his words very lightly. She never expected that he would actually carry out his threats. one day.
“Mister, Mr. Levi is responsible for this?” John looked alarmed.
“I have been a fool. I thought… I thought that he was only trying to scare me.” Now that Mr. Levi had started, he wouldn’t stop until he had completely destroyed her business. And to think that she had plans to conduct a thorough investigation. Now that she knows the truth, she knows that hiring an investigator would yield nothing.
Her grandfather literally owns Star City. Now she just has to accept the fact that everything she ever worked for was for

nothing.
“Miss, miss, are you okay?” John called out to her multiple times.
“Miss Isadora.” When she still didn’t reply, John had to touch her shoulder.
“Yes,” Isadora said, looking at John.
“Are you okay? I’ve been calling you for a few minutes now. What are we going to do?” John stared worriedly at her.
“Nothing: there is nothing we can do about it. A lone tear escaped her eyes and rolled down her cheeks.
“We’ll give up. Isadora shut her eyes tightly and stayed that way.
“Give up? Is that the only option we have?”

“We can’t fight him, John. We are too powerless against him; we’ll be fighting a losing battle. Pack up your things and let’s return.”
“Return as how? The gathering is still ongoing,” John pointed out.
“What’s the use of it? I can’t do anything again; he won’t let me do anything.”
“Still, you’ll need the title.”
“I don’t need any title, John; the title is useless to me now; we have to leave.”
Damon was on his way outside the hotel to receive fresh air when he saw Asher walking ahead of him.
“Asher?” He whispered, and he immediately drew closer to him.
“Asher,” he said, touching him on the shoulder. Asher looked back.
“Dad?” He whispered, then quickly turned to see if his mom had noticed Damon. When he saw that she wasn’t watching, he turned back to Damon. “Dad, come for us; we’re heading back to Star City; something terrible happened,” he hurriedly said before rushing forward.
“Bye,” he said, waving to him before looking ahead.
Wait, what’s going on?
“Sir, what is happening?” The way Damon rushed into the room made him curious.
“We’ll leave for Star City.”
“Can I know the reason?” Steve stared at him.
“I don’t know why, either; we’ll get there first thing tomorrow morning.” I have to find out.”
