“I never said you were allowed to touch me.” With a deadly punch from Damon, the man found himself moving backward with force.
Damon charged at the next person and landed several blows, while also dodging his attacks. He moved on to the next person when he was done with the second guy, and before you knew it, he had brought all the men to their knees.
How dare they touch him? He went to the guy who had slapped him and dragged him to his feet.
He fisted his hand into a tight ball and made to punch him, but stopped himself in mid–air. He dropped the guy on the floor and entered his room.
“Sir, should I…?”
“I’m okay,” Damon sharply interrupted him before taking off his bathrobe. He changed into one of his clothes before going back to sleep.
“How was your night?” The man took his seat at the head table and watched as the maids covered the dining table with different dishes.
“Before that, how should I address you?”
“Chairman.”
“Okay, Chairman. Are you asking after my night to tease me or because you genuinely do not know how my night went?”
The chairman chuckled before dismissing the maids: “Eat, it’s not poisoned.” He said.
“I don’t eat this early.”
“You still don’t trust me. Will you trust me more if you’ve seen my granddaughter?”
“What?”
“You should wait a little then; she’ll soon be here. She’ll be joining us for breakfast.”
At his words, Damon cleared his throat and glanced around the table.
“She should be here any moment from now; I guess you’ll join us if you see her eating,” the chairman added with a subtle smile.
I need you at the house by 7:00 am. Isadora awakes to a text from Mr. Levi. Since she arrived in Star City, she has avoided everything that has to do with him. She knew he was eventually going to call, but she didn’t want it to be this soon.
“Mom, I’m ready to leave.” Asher came to her door and knocked.
“Yes, honey,” Isadora said, standing up and opening her door.
“I’ll leave now,” Asher repeated. He was fully dressed for school.
“Great, learn a lot of things today.”
“Yes, I will. See you later.” Isadora lowered her head so Asher could plant a kiss on her cheek.

“See you!” she smiled as she watched him follow his driver out of the house to the parking lot.
“I guess it’s time to face my problems.” Isadora took a shower and dressed up before grabbing her car key.
She walked to the parking lot and got into her car before driving out. On her way to Mr. Levi’s house, a call came into her phone.
“Brio.” Isadora read the name on the screen and took a deep breath; she knew why he was calling.
“Hello, good morning.”
“Ms. Isadora, I’m sorry for calling this late.”
“This late?”
“Yes, I should have called you yesterday when I didn’t see you at the gathering ground.”
“Not a problem; I should be the one apologizing to you right now. The gathering ends tomorrow.”
“Yes, why are you not here?”
“Something came up; it forced me to withdraw.”
“Wait, you are not in Lovestruck City.” It is not a question.
“Yes, I left.”
“Oh, I won’t ask further questions, but I hope you have the situation under control.”
“Yes, hopefully,” Isadora laughed. “Thank you for the call.”
“Yes, I hope we meet again soon; I didn’t get to say goodbye.”
“I’m really sorry about that,” Isadora apologized once again.
“No, do not apologize; I’m sure you couldn’t help the situation either.”
“Well, I guess.” Thank you for everything, Mr. Brio; if we meet again, I’ll treat you to a meal.”
“Good–bye, till then.”
“Yes, until then,” she said before the call disconnected. Barely six seconds later, his name appeared on her screen again.
Isadora narrowed her brows in curiosity before picking up the call. “I forgot to ask you something.”
“Please go on.”
“I didn’t see that man–the man at the restaurant–your ex–lover,” Brio described.
“Damon?”
“Yes, he left his wristwatch with me, and I’ve tried to return it to him but couldn’t find him. I made inquiries and learned that he also left Lovestruck City urgently.”
“He did? I’m not aware of that. You can dispose of the wristwatch; I’m sure he won’t mind.”
“Really? Are you sure? This wristwatch could buy a building; are you sure he won’t mind? Is he that rich?”
“Just dispose of it; he won’t mind.”

“Okay, thank you for your assistance,” and then the call got disconnected again.

“Why do I have to answer questions about his whereabouts?” Isadora arrived at her destination and parked in front of the
house.
The guards quickly rushed to greet her. Before heading to the entrance, she handed the car key to one of them.
“Welcome, Miss,” the butler greeted her.
“Where is he?”
“At the dining room, miss, let me escort you,” the butler led the way to the dining room.
“You are here,” Mr. Levi immediately announced once he sighted her..
“We have a guest; greet him,” Mr. Levi gestured towards the two men seated at the dining table with him.

Who are they? Their posture looked familiar to her. Are they my uncles? Isadora sneered at the thought. She disliked being in the same room with her uncles. Spending time in the same room as her uncles was akin to ingesting poison. Both are deadly.
“Take your seat.” Isadora walked to the other side and pulled out a chair. She took a seat far from where Mr. Levi sat before looking up at the faces before her.
“Hi, miss,” Steve flashed her a smile.
“Steve?” Isadora’s eyes almost bulged out of their sockets. What the hell? What were they doing here?
Isadora moved her gaze to Damon, but he quickly averted his gaze.
That scumbag! Why the fuck is he here? Why is he with Mr. Levi? Isadora’s gaze kept moving between Steve and Damon for a while before they finally settled on Steve.
He was the only one holding her gaze.
“What is this? Isadora asked him the big question: “Why are you here?”
“Miss you…” Steve was about to say something when Mr. Levi interrupted.
“Just eat your breakfast for now; these gentlemen didn’t eat because they don’t trust me. I’m sure they’ll eat now that you are here,” Mr. Levi said.
“Why did you call me?” Ignoring his words, Isadora questioned.
“We’ll discuss that after the meal; it’s getting cold.” A maid returned to serve them their meal. Since they refused to eat, they had to take their food away.
“I’ll immediately take my leave if you refuse to speak,” Isadora insisted. Being in the midst of the two people she hated most was suffocating her.
“Since you insist, then I’ll tell you a little.” Mr. Levi dropped his cutlery and focused his gaze on her. “You’ll be getting married to him by the end of the month,” he said with a very determined look, leaving Isadora utterly speechless.
