Chapter 24
“What does this mean?” Jaxon had to ask Mr. Levi.
“It means I’ve approved of you.” Alright, enough of the talks; I don’t enjoy cold meals; let’s dig in.” Mr. Levi grabbed his cutlery and continued with his meal.

“Sir,” Steve secretly called him, but he paid him no attention. So many thoughts crossed his mind at once, and he wondered if they were even possible.
“Okay, I’m sure I heard it wrong, so I’ll just eat my fill,” Isadora picked up her spoon to eat, but it hadn’t gotten to two minutes before she dropped it.
“I need to use the washroom,” she said, standing up and walking out of the dining room. She returned to find the table cleared, just as she had hoped. She was in no mood to eat. She had no appetite for it. Especially with Damon sitting across the table from her.
“So, can you tell me why you did that to my business?” After taking her seat, she asked. Her business was her main concern.
“Isn’t it obvious? I only let you run that business to see your abilities; I’ve seen what you can do; now it’s time to handle the bigger ones.”
“And by bigger ones, do you mean yours?”
“Yes, once you take over the larger ones and start running them, running the smaller ones will be nothing.” You can also choose to merge the-”
“How many times do I have to say it? I am not interested in running your businesses. Hell, I have uncles and cousins who are ready to do anything for the position you are forcing on me. Give it to them; I do not want it. How many times do I have to repeat myself?”
“Arguing won’t solve this; I’ve informed the board members, and they are expecting you soon. You must start going to the headquarters by Monday and visit the other branches in different parts of the city. You can also visit the branches outside the city.” “It’ll help your reputation as an acting CEO.”
“Acting what? You’re right; I’m not up for this argument. You win! You’ve managed to take away everything I have; you’re the winner in this game, okay? I quit. Don’t ever summon me regarding such topics.”
Isadora picked up her small purse and made to exit the room, but he stopped her midway.
“I didn’t call you for such topics.” Sit down; we are not done.” He ordered.
“What more do you want?”
“The father of your child is sitting right here, and we are discussing your marriage. Like I said earlier, you’ll be getting. married to him by month’s end.”
“I don’t understand what this is about. I don’t know why you brought him here, and I refuse to understand. I’ll take my leave.” Isadora turned to leave, but a guard immediately blocked her path.
“I’m sorry, miss,” the guard apologized.
“You’ll have to do more than this if you want to stop me.” Isadora was used to this routine. She dragged him out of the way and tried to get to the door, but so many guards appeared in her path at once.
“I won’t stay here; you can’t stop me,” Isadora insisted. She tried pushing the guard in front of her, but he wouldn’t budge. She tried to take the other way, but they stopped her.
Then suddenly, the guards started disappearing one after the other, and Isadora couldn’t understand why. Certainly, wasn’t

Mr. Levi changing his mind?
“Do you need me to move you?” Then, beside her, the reason for the guards‘ disappearance appeared.

“Get out of her way,” Damon ordered. He was not going to let anyone do this to her, no matter who the person was. He had learned his lessons, and he learned them the hard way.
“Sir but…” The guard tried making an excuse, and Damon didn’t hesitate to kick him in the balls.
“You are the dumbest person in this room,” Damon groaned with disapproval.
To Isadora, he said, “You can leave.”
Isadora looked up at him with a frown. What impression was he trying to leave? Does he believe that doing this will make her forgive him?
“I need to talk to you; follow me,” Isadora said before walking out of the house.
“What is the meaning of this? Why are you here?”
“For a business.”
“What business brought you here?”
“Do I have to tell you?”
“Yes! You need to tell me why you’re discussing ‘my‘ marriage with my grandfather.”
“I didn’t mean to.”
“You didn’t mean to?” Isadora scoffed, “Haven’t you done enough during our first marriage? Must you go this far?”
“Dora, wait, you are misunderstanding….
“I’d never get married to you. I don’t know what you are planning with him, but your plans will definitely not work. I’d rather die than get married to a scumbag like you,” Dora snapped. She has had enough of those two men.
“Dora, please wait.” Damon tried to stop her as she made to leave.
“Dora,” Damon said, blocking her path. “I don’t want you to keep misunderstanding me.”
“Oh, will you also force me to listen to you?” Isadora scoffed and rolled her eyes.
“No, it’s just that…” Isadora pushed him out of the way and tried to leave, but a voice stopped her in her tracks.
“I heard you visited us; here you are.” Her second uncle, Aaron, appeared from a corner of the house.
Isadora palmed herself mentally before turning to face him, and with a forced smile, she replied, “I was just leaving.”
“Not so soon; I’m sure you just got here.” You are always in a hurry, dear niece,” the man laughed a bit before advancing
closer.
“And who is this man with you?” Aaron turned to focus his attention on Damon.
“He is someone you shouldn’t concern yourself with; please excuse me.” Isadora tried to leave, but Aaron grabbed her hand.
“You shouldn’t move so fast. We are not done talking, dear niece. As he said those words, his grip around her arm tightened.

The problem with you is that you are always in a hurry; it reminds me of your late father, our eldest brother,” the man let out a displeased sigh.
“He was like a second father to us. We…”
“Please let go of me,” Isadora said, but Aaron ignored her words and continued with his talk. “Your father was always in a hurry, just like you. We’d always ask him to slow down, but he never listened to us; he would have been alive today if he had paid attention to our warnings.” Aaron’s grip continued to tighten around her arm.
“Don’t be like your father; slow down when we ask you to.” So you don’t meet the same end your father met,” Aaron concluded with a sad smile on his face.
By the time he finished, Isadora’s face had already become unrecognizable. She tightened her fist and clenched her teeth hard in an attempt to prevent herself from going after him. He was truly crossing the line. How dare he threaten her with death?
