Chapter 11
I stared blankly at the scene before me–my dad straddling Eden’s lifeless body, soaked in blood, hammering down on her again and again like a madman. A strange, hollow feeling gnawed at my chest.}
When I finally snapped out of my daze, I turned to my uncle and asked, “What the hell just happened?“}
My uncle let out a cold snort. “That illegitimate son of your dad’s? Turns out, he isn’t even his.“>
“With how obsessed your dad is with having a son, do you really think he wouldn’t lose his mind after hearing that?“}
“I had someone show him a video of that bitch sleeping with another man–then threw in a few choice words to stir the pot. Oh, and wouldn’t you know it, the guy I sent just so happened to be a maintenance worker at this hospital. Carrying around tools like screwdrivers and hammers? Completely normal, don’t you think?”
“So when your dad snapped, grabbed the worker’s tools and went after that bitch? Well, isn’t that just the most reasonable reaction?“% …So this was what my uncle meant when he said he wouldn’t personally lay a hand on my dad and Eden?”
My uncle never shared the details of how he got the footage of my dad and Eden’s affair. He just said there were things too dark, too twisted–things a girl like me was better off not knowing.
I watched as hospital security pinned my dad to the ground. He screamed, sobbed, completely falling apart. My uncle scoffed in disgust, then turned and walked me out of the hospital without a second glance.}
It wasn’t until we arrived in Volkten that I finally understood the weight of my grandfather’s name.
He wasn’t just rich–he was THE richest. A powerhouse in the business world, a man people either feared or revered.
With top–tier medical care, my mom slowly recovered.}
And me? My life took a turn 1 never could have imagined.}
After years of being unwanted, cast aside and ignored by my own father, I suddenly found myself surrounded by love–cherished, protected, treated like I actually mattered.
My dad?
After killing Eden, he was thrown in prison. When he was sentenced to death, he snapped. Went insane. Smashed his own skull against the cell wall and ended his pathetic existence.
Now, sitting beside my mom, holding her hand, I waited for her to wake up
From this moment on, we were done looking back
This time, we’d live the life we deserved.
