Chapter 6
“Elle, if you keep spewing nonsense, I’ll tear your mouth apart!“}
My father’s furious glare bore into me, his voice sharp with anger. “Do you really want your mother to spend the rest of her life in pain? Completely bedridden, unable to move?“}
“I love your mother deeply. How could I bear to see her suffer like that?”
As he spoke those words, I couldn’t help but wonder–did he even feel a shred of guilt??
Oh, right. A man like him probably didn’t have a conscience at all.
Eden stepped forward, playing the peacemaker. With a sigh, she said, “Elle, your father is only thinking about what’s best for your mother. Don’t cause trouble here.”
Before she could say another word, my hand flew across her face. The sharp crack echoed through the hallway.}
Eden froze, stunned.}
“Elle, what the hell do you think you’re doing?!“}
My father roared in rage, his eyes blazing with murderous fury, as if he wanted to skin me alive.}
But I didn’t care anymore.
I threw my uncle’s warnings out the window.
We had already reached this point–if my father signed that consent form to stop my mom’s treatment, she would be beyond saving.
I clenched my fists, my voice shaking with fury. “Zane, don’t think I don’t know what’s going on between you and this woman!“}
“Turns out she’s not just your ‘business partner‘–she’s your mistress! And she even gave you a son!“}
“Your illegitimate child has kidney failure and since my mother and I are a match, you two plotted to sacrifice us to save him!“}
My father’s expression darkened, but I pressed on.
“Not long ago, you took out accident insurance on both me and my mom. Then you tampered with her car–wasn’t it all for this?“}
I laughed bitterly, my voice dripping with hatred. “You’re a monster, Zane! You don’t deserve to be a father and you’re even less worth of being a husband!“}
I turned my burning gaze to Eden, who still clutched her cheek.}
“And you–his mistress. You destroyed our family and now you want my mom dead so you can take her place? You shameless vicious snake!“}
“You disgusting pair–you’ll reap what you sow!“}
I screamed, my voice shaking with fury.
Zane and Eden’s faces drained of color, their expressions flustered as they realized we had drawn a crowd. Murmurs rippled throug the gathering onlookers, their gazes shifting–suspicion and disgust now directed at them.§
My father, enraged and humiliated, barked, “Elle, have you lost your mind? Stop spouting nonsense!”
Eden shot me a venomous glare before turning to my father, her voice icy. “Didn’t you say your daughter has a mental illness? Sh must have been triggered by all this.” She let out a dramatic sigh. “You need to send her to a psychiatric hospital before it’s too late.”
Catching on immediately, my father raised his voice. “My daughter has a mental disorder! She refuses to accept that her mother died in a car accident and now she’s having a breakdown! Don’t believe a word she says!“N
Then, louder: “Security! Someone call the hospital security! We need to restrain her before she harms herself or others!”
Just like that, their twisted narrative took hold.
The suspicious looks aimed at them moments ago shifted–now directed at me. Whispers spread through the crowd, doubt creeping into their faces.}
My blood boiled. My fists clenched so tightly my nails bit into my palms. “That’s a damn lie!” Froared.
I opened my mouth to expose them, to reveal every filthy thing they had done-
But before I could get another word out, several men suddenly rushed forward, grabbing me a
“Let me go! I’m telling the truth–mmph!”
A burly man clamped a hand over my mouth, muffling my screams. It was then that I caught it–Eden, discreetly exchanging glances
with them.
Everything clicked. These weren’t just random bystanders. They were placed here.
Eden had arranged for them to be nearby, waiting for the moment I caused a scene–ready to silence me before my father could sign the papers to give up on my mother’s treatment.
9:00 PM
Panic and rage crashed over me like a tidal wave.
