Chapter 7
I thrashed against their hold, but the more I struggled, the more they tightened their grip. I wasn’t just fighting for myself anymore. was fighting for my mother’s life.}
As I struggled against the hands pinning me down, murmurs rippled through the crowd of clueless bystanders.}
“She doesn’t look mentally ill at all!” someone whispered. “Ugh, it’s always the ones who seem normal–you never know when they‘ suddenly snap!“}
“Exactly! I saw something like this at another hospital once–a psych patient looked totally fine, then out of nowhere, he pulled a knif on a doctor!“}
“This is terrifying! Hurry up and sedate her! Someone call the psychiatric hospital before she hurts someone!“}
Panic surged through me as I thrashed harder, but it was useless. I could only watch in horror as my father moved to sign the waiver the death sentence that would end my mother’s life.
Eden, standing beside him, shot me a triumphant smirk. To them, I was nothing more than a helpless fish on the chopping block completely at their mercy.
Just as despair closed in on me, the doors slammed open with a deafening crash.}
A group of towering men in black stormed in, their movements swift and precise. Within seconds, they dismantled my captors with ruthless efficiency, knocking them to the ground in a flurry of brutal punches and kicks.
These weren’t ordinary security guards. They were trained professionals.
Then, a sharp, commanding voice rang out, “Who the hell dares to lay a hand on my niece?!“}
The entire room fell silent.}
A middle–aged man strode in, exuding an air of absolute dominance. He wore a floral shirt stretched tight over his broad chest, the collar slightly open, revealing a glimpse of gold jewelry. Tinted glasses rested on his nose, giving him an effortlessly cool yet dangerous look.
I froze.}
This guy… was my uncle? I had already sensed over the phone that he had a temper. But standing here now, his sheer presence alone was enough to make the entire room hold its breath.
My dad and Eden stood frozen, completely caught off guard as they watched the scene unfold. My uncle strode toward me, his steps unhurried yet commanding. When he reached me, he ruffled my hair gently before speaking in a warm voice. “Elle?“}
I nodded frantically, tears welling in my eyes. “Uncle!“}
His gaze fell on my slightly swollen face, his voice turning quiet but laced with an unmistakable edge. “Who hit you?”
Without hesitation, I turned my eyes toward my dad. His expression shifted instantly, panic flashing across his face as he stammered, “W–who are you? I was just disciplining my own daughter-“}
Before my dad could finish his sentence, my uncle’s hand lashed out–delivering a vicious slap across his face. As if that wasn enough, he followed it up with a powerful kick, sending my dad flying over two meters across the floor.
My dad curled up on the ground, clutching his stomach in agony, groaning in pain. Eden turned deathly pale. Though trying to put on a brave front, but her voice trembled as she snapped, “Who the hell are you? What gives you the right-”
She didn’t get to finish either. My uncle’s foot connected with her midsection, sending her sprawling just as effortlessly. I had to admit, watching my uncle handle them so decisively was immensely satisfying.W
Just then, the hospital security came rushing in, but before they could intervene, my uncle’s bodyguards stepped forward, blocking their path.
