Ciara’s Pov
I woke up to the sight of Adam sitting on the edge of my bed, arms crossed, concern etched deep into his
features
“Are you going to tell me what’s going on?” His voice was calm, but his eyes held frustration.
I sighed, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. “It’s complicated.”
Adam didn’t flinch. “Then simplify it.”
I hesitated, but I knew my brother. He wouldn’t back down until he got something out of me. “I’m getting revenge
on Tony.”
His brows furrowed. “And Zaverio?”
I met his gaze. “He’s helping me.”
Adam exhaled sharply, shaking his head.
I looked away. “I can’t tell you that.”
My? What’s in it for him?”
He studied me for a long moment before sighing. “Do you really trust him?”
I nodded. “I do, yeah, to an extent.”
Silence stretched between us before Adam finally stood. “Alright. If you say you’ve got this, I’ll trust you.”
A small smile tugged at my lips. “Thank you.”
He patted my shoulder. “Just don’t do anything stupid, Ciara.”
“I won’t.”
Adam left, and I dragged myself into the shower, letting the warm water wash away my thoughts. When I finished getting ready, I heard a knock on the door.
Zaverio.
stepped out of my room to find him standing in the living room, exchanging pleasantries with my parents.

My father, however, wasn’t as welcoming. He eyed Zaverio with a sharp gaze. “I don’t care who you are. If anything happens to my daughter I will make sure you regret it.”
Zaverio held up his hands, amusement flickering in his eyes. “I understand, Señor Salvador, I assure you, Ciara’s
safety is my priority.”
I chuckled, pressing a kiss to my father’s cheek. “I’ll be fine, Papa.”
He sighed, still glaring at Zaverio. “You better be.”
With that, we left.
As Zaverio drove, he glanced at me. “Your family is very protective.”
I smirked. “They have every reason to be.”
He chuckled. “I like that.”
We arrived at the shopping mall, and just as I was about to step ou

of the car, Zaverio’s phone rang. He
“I need to handle something,” he said, hanging up. “Stay and enjoy yourself. The mall belongs to me, so indulge
in whatever you want.”
I rolled my eyes. “Of course, it does.”
He smirked. “I’ll be back soon.
With that, he left, and I made my way into the boutique.
I was browsing through the dresses when an all–too–familiar voice cut through the air.
“Well, well, look who we have here.”
I stiffened before turning around to see Hailey standing there, her arms crossed, a smug smirk on her face.
“What are you doing in a place like this?” she sneered. “This is a high–end store, you know.”
I sighed, turning back to the dresses. “Mind your business, Hailey”
She let out a fake gasp. “Oh, come on, no need to be so cold. I was just wondering if you could even afford
anything here after Tony tossed you aside
I clenched my fists, but I refused to take the bait.
“You don’t know anything about what I can and can’t afford, Hailey,” I stated.
Hailey laughed, “Are you sure about that? Then explain to me why you left Las Vegas and returned to Mexico?! mean, I’m sure you came back here because you’ll have better luck as a prostitute than in Vegas.”
said.
I stared at Hailey, a coy smile playing on my lips, “We both know who the prostitute is, Sweetie.” Hailey’s face turned red as she raised her hand to slap me but I caught her hand swiftly.
“Don’t do something you’d regret instantly, Hailey, I’m not the same person you tried to murder a while ago,” I
I saw the fear that flashed in Hailey’s eyes before it disappeared immediately. She must have been wondering how I had found out she was behind the attack.
“I don’t know what you mean, Ciara,” she said, keeping a poker face, “But I wonder, how is your injury? All gone now just like your pregnancy?”
I gritted my teeth, ready to lunge when suddenly, Hailey let out a dramatic, exaggerated sob and fell to the floor.
I blinked, caught off guard. “What the hell are you doing? I haven’t even touched you yet.”
Hailey grabbed my wrist, her voice trembling. “Ciara, please don’t be upset with me! I never wanted you to leave Tony! I didn’t mean for any of this to happen!”
I yanked my hand away, disgusted. “Have you lost your mind?”
Then I heard a voice behind me.
“Ciara, how dare you bully Hailey again?”
froze
I knew that voice anywhere.
Tony.
