Chapter 24
Natalie had just unbuckled her seatbelt, ready to step out of the car, when she heard those words. Her head snapped up in disbelief, her gaze locking onto the golden–haired young man named Dominik standing outside the window.
Dominik had already swung the door open, leaning in like a hungry wolf pup catching the scent of fresh prey. Hands braced on his knees, he craned his neck further inside, his bright eyes Exated on her with an unsettling eagerness
Catching her startled expression, he smiled–an innocent, charming grin that might have belonged to a fairy–tale prince.
A Light breeze tousled his slightly overgrown golden hair, making the moment seem almost picturesque. But the illusion shattered the moment he opened his mouth,
“Hey there, pretty lady. You’re stunning, you know that?” His tone was casual, laced with crude confidence. “My name’s Dominik Brooks. Five days until I hit eighteen. Still a virgin, by the way–young, healthy, plenty of stamina”
He paused, chuckling with a shy tilt of his head, as if trying to come off bashful “Sure, I’m inexperienced, but that’s nothing we can’t work on together, right? You can teach me however you like…
The longer he talked, the more outrageous his words became. Natalies expression turned stiff as she shook her head firmly. “No, thank you”
Dominik tilted his head, a childlike confusion crossing his features as he glanced over at fors, who was sitting quietly in the car.
“Boss, this pretty girl isn’t for me?“ Dominik asked. He didn’t wait for an answer, muttering under his breath and slapping his thigh with a resounding smack. He yelled, “Nah, can’t be, Since when do we ever have decent girls hanging around?”
He leaned further into the car. his eyes gleaming with a predator–like intensity as they roamed over Natalie
“Hey, gorgeous,” he said, his tone shifting to something unsettlingly cheerful, “I get it. You want money, right? I’ll buy you whatever you want, Dresses, jewelry–name your price. And don’t worry, we do it the way you like. I don’t have any of those nasty habits, no rough Muff.”
His grin widened, all angelic innocence on the surface, but Natalie wasn’t fooled.
She had never dealt with someone like this, and every instinct screamed at her to put distance between herself and this dangerous guy.
“I don’t need anything,” she replied quickly, her voice dipped and slightly trembling in fear. She edged closer to Jonus for safety, her gaze darting toward his face, seeking reassurance.
But Jonas, lounging in his seat with an air of casual detachment, didn’t lift a finger to intervene. He yawned lightly, as if this whole spectacle was beneath his notice, his indifferent demeanor as maddening as it was unhelpful.
Natalie’s stomach churned with unease. This is Nocriador, she thought to herself, a country consumed by civil war Women without power or connections here were treated as commodities, their value measured in what they could be traded for
She risked another glance at Dominik. His face, deceptively boyish and naive, was at odds with his muscular frame. His tank top revealed arms corded with lean strength, and there was still a faint mear of blood on his forearm that hadn’t been wiped clean.
He might have smiled like an angel, but she could tell that he was anything but harmless.
Her pulse quickened, and in a moment of desperation, she scooted closer to Jonas and boldly reached out to wrap

Jonas hadn’t planned on interfering. To him, sex was just the natural order of humankind–man would pursue woman, whether by charm or coercion. If Dominik manages to win her over, well, that’s his skill at work. Why should I care?
Jonas didn’t even spare Natalie a glance. In his mind, she wasn’t his lover, so he shouldn’t bother getting involved. While she stole a cautious look his way, he continued to contemplate something far more pressing–who had the death wish to mess with his goods.
Suddenly, a faint tickling sensation brushed against his arm. Out of the comer of his eye. Jonas noticed Natalie tentatively hooking her cool fingers around his elbow.
He didn’t react, and her initial hesitance quickly turned into something bolder. She slipped her arm around his, her body pressing softly a hirn, warm and pliant, like a plush toy seeking refuge

When Jonas turned his head, he found himself face–to–face with her wide, dor–like eyes, brimming with a
a vulnerability that made her look heartbreakingly delicate.
He raised a brow, his gaze locked on hers, and she doubled down, fixing him with a pleading expression that seemed to say. “Help me.”

Chapter 24
Jonas’s thoughts flicked to the absurdity of the moment. ‘Dominik’s the one trying to bed her. Wlur’s she giving me those big sad eyes for? She really thinks she’s latched onto me!‘
With a slight twitch of his arm, Jonas thought she might back off, but instead. Natalie clung to him even tighter. Her arms wrapped snugly around his, and her soft body pressed even closer. She felt light as air, yet she clung to him like her life depended on it.
Dominik, meanwhile, gawked at the scene, his already wide eyes stretching impossibly wider. “Boss, you’re finally taking a woman to bed?” he exclaimed, his voice filled with a mix of shock and exciment.
Then, as if struck by a sudden thought, Dominik turned toward Myla, who was sitting stiffly in the front seat, trying her best to fade into the background. He yelled, “Hey, Myla. Didn’t you say the boss is traumatized and can’t get it up with women?”
Myla froze, utterly blindsided by the accusation. “Damn it. 1 was just sitting here minding my business. And Dominik just threw me under the bus like this?‘
She quickly glanced at Jonas through the rearview mirror, only to find his eyes meeting hers. His deep, soulful gaze carried a faint smile, but the silent warning it conveyed sent chills down her spine.
Straightening her posture, she abandoned any hope of sarcasm and answered solemnly, “I never said he can’t perform. What I said was that he’s been burned by women before, so he’s not interested in them
“But believe me, if he wanted to, he’d be incredible. He’s packing. No doubt about it
Dominik, who was too straightforward for his own good and had followed Jonas around since he was a kid, squinted suspiciously. He always spoke his mind in front of Jonas.
Dominik asked, “Wait, really? Did I hear wrong? Man, I even went out of my way to gather all those remedies for him around the world. Hold up. Myla, how do you know he’s packing Don’t tell me you two-”
“Shurit.” Jonas’s low command cut through the chatter as Dominik was getting more and more ridiculous with his theories.

Jonar’s tone was calm, almost amused, yet anyone who knew him could tell he was on the brink of losing his
Dominik instantly shrank back, his overexcited demeanor deflating like a scolded puppy. He stepped back and muttered under his breath, “Bet you Two went to the bathhouse without me…
Myla, thoroughly annoyed, fought the urge to roll her eyes. “Seriously? Even if I don’t swing that way,
a woman, you idion.
Jonas raised a hand to rub his temples, exhaustion briefly flickering across his face. He was about to tell Dominik to back off when the man seemed to recover his energy instantly, looking at him with eager, puppy dog eyes.
“Boss, how about this? You sleep with her first, and then hand her over to me. I like this pretty girl,” Dominik said, his tone almost childishly hopeful.
What kind of depraved conversation is this? Natalie’s body went stiff with shock, her hands instinctively tightening their hold on Jonas’s arm. Her voier was soft but urgent as she whispered, “I don’t know what he’s misunderstanding, but I don’t want-
Jonas lowered his hand, letting it rest on his knee. His fingers began to tap lightly, the rhythm deliberate and almost calculating
“Sweetheart,” he said, his tone teasing and laced with an undercurrent of challenge, “you crawled into my bed in the middle of the night. Why is it that I’m good enough for you, but he’s not!”
The question hit Natalie like a gong, reverberating through her entire being. She blinked, unterly stunned, as the words echoed in her mind. “Why?
She tilted her head upward to meet Jonas’s gaze. His striking blue eyes, so achingly deep, betrayed no clear emotion. Yet, when he turned slightly. the faintest hint of mischief flickered at the edges of his expression, subtle but potent enough to make her pulse race.
It’s like he’s toying with me, drawing me in without even trying, she thought, her mind swirling.
To her, perhaps it was some kind of imprint, a fledgling instinct that made her cling to him. After all, he had been her savior in the chaos of a foreign land riddled with danger.
They’d shared moments of intimacy–kisses that lingered in the mind, a night spent in the same bed–but it was clear to her that Jonas felt none of the burning passion that usually came with those acts. Instead, his actions carried a detached playfulness, laced with a calculated sense of
Amusement.

Chapter 25
Jonas, on the other hand, was deceptive in every sense of the word. His chiseled features, framed by those dangerously mesmerizing blue eyes. exuded an allure that was impossible to resist. It was maddening how someone who radiated such blatant irresponsibility could still seem so disarmingly sincere.
Natalie broke eye contact, her demeanor shifting into something soft and obedient. “Sir,” she said quietly. “we had an agreement, remember! Once we reach the Northern District, we’re supposed to join forces against Jonas. If I were to get involved with someone else now, it would undermine everything
Jonas’s tapping fingers came to an abrupt halt. He chuckled softly, though there was an edge to the sound, his voice light as he replied, “Ah, so it’s about the agreement, is it?”
His tone remained casual, but Natalie feh the atmosphere around him shift, a subtle tension creeping in that set her on edge.
Dominik, growing impatient with the drawn–out exchange, broke the silence with a dramatic sigh. “Boss, what are you two whispering about over there? If it’s about gifts, just leave it to me and her. No way I’d let you foot the bill.”
“Sure,” Jonas replied, his voice cool and unhurried. “You talk it out with her.” He then yanked his arm free from her grasp with a sharp motion
