Chapter 118
Sophia went to bed at twelve and woke up at seven–thirty. It was a full seven hours of sleep, she still looked tired out
Edward frowned as he looked at Butler, and seeing Butler nod, his frown deepened.
He turned his head to look at Sophia, who had eaten bread and was yawning again, and he sighed. It seemed now was not the time to discuss school matters with her.
He said, “Alright, look at you, finish your breakfast and then go upstairs for a nap,”
Sophia picked up the milk and took two big gulps, shaking her head. I’m not sleepy. I have an appointment with friends today and need to go to the Raffle Hotel later.
Edward immediately asked, “What friends? Male or female?”
Sophia answered, “Boys and girls both.”
Edward squinted his eyes warily, “Is Tristan also going?”
Mentioning Tristan made Sophia wide awake. She suddenly remembered since the engagement was confirmed yesterday, she had been immersed in work, and she completely forgot about her fiancé.
He was so sensitive. Sophia started to worry that he would get angry. She might as well invite Tristan to the hotel.
Sophia nodded. “Yes, he’s going too.”
Edward stayed silent for a moment, his frown not easing.
As a grandfather, he shouldn’t be too meddlesome, so he never specifically investigated Sophia’s past friends.
But Sophia was living in the countryside and it meant that the friends she made were all those country kids.
Now, if they learned Sophia’s true identity and saw her go to a place like the Raffle Hotel, what would happen?
Edward worried about Sophia again. If her friends had ulterior motives, they could hurt her feelings ultimately.
If Tristan went, he could be somewhat reassured.
With Tristan’s social experience, he would naturally know which friends were worth keeping and which were not.
“Then let Tris come pick you up later,” Edward said.
Sophia was about to refuse, but thinking of her current relationship with Tristan, and how she had ignored her newly appointed fiancé all day yesterday, she nodded her head.
She devoured bread, feeling full and satisfied, and said, “Grandpa Edward, I’ll go upstairs to change my clothes first.”
After Sophia went upstairs, Butler said from the side, “Last night, she did turn off the lights at exactly eleven forty.”
Edward gazed deeply in the direction of Sophia’s bedroom, “I suppose she was very busy yesterday, mentally exhausted. When she was in the park, she didn’t seem so tired.”
Sophia was very self–reliant, she didn’t even think to ask her grandfather for help.
Butler sighed. “Miss Roscente was indeed quite busy yesterday. Mr. Yeats called several times inquiring about her situation until I informed him at eleven forty–five that Miss Roscente had turned off the lights to sleep. He then stopped calling, probably because Miss Roscente hadn’t replied to him all day.”

Edward was surprised by Butler’s words. He wondered if the two had quarreled on the first day of their engagement.
After returning to the bedroom, Sophia picked up the phone. She hadn’t touched it since hanging up on her call with

Sure enough, she saw countless messages from Tristan. Despite the mumerous messages, there hadn’t been a single call.
She read them one by one. Initially, he tried to talk to her casually, but as she didn’t respond, he started to panic, thinking he had done something wrong, and began sending her long messages of self–reflection.
After realizing she still hadn’t responded, he panicked further and began to act cute, pitiful, and pathetic.
Finally, after she lay down on the bed and fell asleep last night, he sent a message: Igoodnight. I
Sophia could imagine Tristan’s expressions at the time from the longaentences.
She couldn’t help but laugh out loud and dialed a voice call. Tristan answered almost instantly.
At the moment of connection, Tristan’s slightly aggrieved voice reached Sophia’s ears through the phone. “Soli, you’re so
heartless”
That pleading tone made Sophia’s heart flutter. She nervously said. “Sorry, I was really busy yesterday and didn’t check my phone.”
The man lightly huffed, his aggrieved tone really didn’t match his profile, yet it was particularly captivating. “Yes, everything is more important than your fiancé.”
Even through the phone, Sophia could almost imagine Tristan’s expression, pitiful and aggrieved.
She felt even guiltier, “If you had anything urgent, you could have called me.
Tristan sighed softly, “After all, my fiancée is so busy, I was afraid of disturbing her. She would kick me out if she got annoyed.”
His words made her think she was just awful yesterday. She wasn’t alone anymore after all.
Since she agreed to give it a try with Tristan and fulfill this engagement, she should do what a fiancée should do,
She decisively continued to apologize, I’m sorry, it won’t happen again. No matter how busy Lam, I’ll remember to send you a message in advance. She was incredibly earnest.
Tristan couldn’t bear to tease her further, letting out a low, soft laugh, “As a fiance, I have to support your career. I am capable of being a nice fiancé.”
The repeated mentions of “lancée” and “liance” made Sophia blush awkwardly.
She licked her lips, which were a bit dry from nervousness, “Are you free today?”
“Yes, when my fiancee calls, I’m always free. Tristan replied with a smile,
Sophia sounded a little tense, “Then… come to the manor to pick me up. I invited some friends to the Raffle Hotel for dinner. They’re the ones we met last time in the Abyss, you’ve seen them before.”
Tristan’s smile deepened, “Are you planning to introduce me formally to your friends?”
Sophia colored deeper. She pursed her rosy lips, “If you’re coming, hurry up! Then she hung up the phone.
