Once she brought the Stewart Family on board and her studio was up and running, Tristan would see that even Sophia’s adoptive parents–who’d raised her for twenty years–were backing Xandra’s studio. It would be hard not to jump to conclusions.
Xandra’s mind raced. She couldn’t know better that pulling the Stewarts into her corner was a pretty Chloe had made a good point.

He went on until his throat went dry, then took a quick break to down a glass of water. After gulping it down, he carried on.
“Seriously, that Xandra Roscente is a total actress. She was all high and mighty at first, but the moment she heard Chloe’s design caught Luminous‘ attention, she flipped,” Gary said, smacking his lips.
“She’s suddenly all sweet, pretending to care about Chloe right in front of those two old geezers from the Stewart Family,” he scoffed, rolling his eyes. “Really acting like she’s the queen of the Roscente family, huh?”
Sophia raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. “Luminous, you say?”
Gary nodded enthusiastically. “That’s right, Mrs. Yeats, you’re wearing the latest custom piece from Luminous, just released at the end of last month,” he said with a grin, leaning in slightly. “Mrs. Yeats, you’re into fashion design too? Are you planning to compete with Xandra Roscente?” Gary’s attention shifted in an instant.
“As long as you say the word, I’ve got you covered. That studio’s never opening.” He said, holding his glass of water, a mischievous gleam in his eyes as he chuckled at Sophia.
Sophia rolled her eyes at Gary, who was clearly ready to stir up trouble. “Just save it.”
She had never considered Xandra Roscente a rival from the beginning to the end. The way the Roscente Family treated Xandra, and Tristan’s attitude toward her… Honestly, it wasn’t worth her time.
Besides, everything Xandra took pride in, everything she leaned on, was just her status as the Roscente Family’s heiress. But to Sophia, status didn’t mean a thing.
If she were Xandra, knowing the real heiress had returned, she’d be pulling every string she could, using the Roscente Family’s connections to secure her future.

Sophia chatted with Andrew Yeats for a bit longer. He still held her hand, his grip firm and his expression serious. “Sophia,” he said, locking eyes with her, “I know someone’s got their eye on you, but don’t worry–we’ll only ever recognize you as the future mistress. No other woman will ever step foot in the Yeats family.”
Sophia couldn’t help but smile inwardly. She wasn’t the least bit worried. She wasn’t like Xandra or Chloe, putting her whole future in the hands of one man.
She glanced down at their hands, her fingers gently brushing his as she thought, ‘I don’t mind Tristan,‘ thought Sophia. ‘His charm was hard to ignore–but only because, right now, his heart and focus were entirely on me.’
She was content to enjoy the moment. But if one day, Tristan had someone else by his side, she knew she’d walk without hesitation.
She was her own person. She might feel a pang, but she’d still stand strong.
Time passed as they chatted, and before long, it was time for dinner.
