Chapter 55
Chapter 55
Sophia curled her crimson lips coldly.
Then she loosened her grip on Xenia’s chin casually.
Xenia lost all her strength, her legs turning to jelly, and she ended up kneeling softly against the wall.
Just when Sophia pinched her chin, she felt as if the air around her had become thin.
She found it somewhat difficult to breathe.
Now, collapsed on the ground, she gasped for breath, her face pale with a hint of panic.
“You’re in no position to ask who she is!”
A young man’s arrogant voice sounded from behind Professor Williams.
Hudson aggressively rushed forward, standing in front of Sophia glaring downward at Xenia with a fierce look. “Who do you think you are to barge into Professor Williams‘ office and shout in front of Sophia?”
Xenia knew Hudson because of the powerful family behind him and his excellent skills in traditional medicine
‘It was said that when he first entered the research institute, at only about twelve or thirteen years old, he had the qualifications to assist Professor Williams.
At first, Xenia thought he was Professor Williams‘ last disciple.
Professor Williams, however, denied it, saying that Hudson’s true master was someone far beyond his reach and that he wasn’t qualified to be his master.
But now, the prodigy stood protectively before Sophia.
At that moment, Xenia truly felt a surge of fear inside her.
She tried hard to prop herself up but failed. So she had to lean weakly against the wall, looking at Professor Williams with red eyes, still trying her luck. “Master, I…”
“Shut up!” Professor Williams snorted with disgust. “I’ve reminded you a hundred times that I’ve never taught you anything, so don’t call me like that.”
Xenia had strong motives and ambitions.
Every month when she came to the research institute to fetch medicine for Andrew Yeats, she always took the opportunity to approach Professor Williams, calling him “master“.
Everyone knew very well what her purpose was.
She was in charge of the monthly task of fetching medicine because the team that treated Andrew Yeats was indeed established through her connections.
Professor Williams‘ purpose was just to prolong Andrew Yeats’s life.
And the team formed by Xenia did have that capability.

However, Professor Williams did not expect that she was becoming increasingly over the line..
‘Is my office a place she can enter at will?‘ Professor Williams wondered.
079%
“Mr. Williams…” Xenia was publicly embarrassed. When she glanced at Sophia from the corner of her eye, her face turned red again. “I just wanted to… to let you know that our cooperation with the Yeats Family has been terminated. Who would have thought that your office door was open? I saw her rummaging through your office. I thought she was a thief, so in a panic, I…”
“Since she can sit in my office, she can rummage through whatever she wants. I can give her all the data in my office,” Professor Williams sneered, “I’ve lived for more than half a lifetime. I understand your intention very well. I, an old man, don’t fall for your hypocritical tricks.”
Professor Williams walked to the desk, saying, “As for why the Yeats Family terminated the cooperation, I think you know it very well yourself. I don’t think there’s a need for me to emphasize it again.”
Xenia’s face turned pale instantly, and her lips trembled for a while, but she couldn’t utter a single word.
Professor Williams continued, “Before the termination, the Yeats Family specifically called to inform me in advance, and I agreed. Is there any problem with that?”
Xenia’s legs grew increasingly weak, and she leaned against the wall, her face paler than paper. “Leader, the cooperation with the Yeats Family is the fruit of our team’s efforts. Since you know the reason, why…”
“Tsk tsk tsk, is it the fruit of the team’s efforts or something you’ve been plotting for yourself?” Hudson sneered, giving Xenia a mocking glance. “Now that Andrew Yeats has Sophia, that’s enough. Sophia alone is worth your entire team.”
Xenia’s pupils suddenly contracted.
She looked at Professor Williams‘ expression, then at Hudson’s arrogant demeanor.
Her heart sank heavily.
‘Having Sophia is enough?
She alone is worth my elite team?
Could she be some kind of miracle–working doctor?
How is that even possible?
She appears to be in her early twenties at most.
And Chloe even said she dropped out before finishing high school.
How could such a person be a miracle–working doctor?‘ Xenia wondered.
Professor Williams, too tired to argue, directly made a call. “Call in two security guards and throw her out.”
Xenia looked up sharply at Professor Williams, her face pale and her body trembling slightly.
Throw me out?
Just like what happened to me at the State Hospital?

Would he, the leader, really treat me this way after five years of cooperation?
After all, I’ve called him master for so many years!‘ Xenia wondered.
The security there was from the national team, and they were extremely efficient.
As Xenia was being dragged out, Professor Williams added, “Nullify her ID card. In the future, she is not allowed to set foot in the research institute again.”
“Leader!” Xenia’s voice had become hoarse, her eyes full of disbelief and panic.
While being dragged away from the office by security, Xenia saw Professor Williams, who had always been serious and indifferent towards her, turn his head and smile at Sophia, pulling over his chair and signaling for Sophia to sit down.
That smile and gesture of his actually carried a hint of sycophancy.
And Hudson, who had always been arrogant and never showed her any kindness, eagerly poured the cooled coffee and refilled a cup of hot coffee for Sophia, respectfully placing it in front of her.
As for Sophia, she calmly and naturally enjoyed everything.
Vaguely, Xenia heard Professor Williams saying something about the “President of the Traditional Medicine Association“.
Xenia’s eyes became increasingly red.
Who exactly is Sophia?‘ she wondered.
After Xenia was taken away, the office finally returned to peace.
Professor Williams observed Sophia’s expression, rubbing his hands and chuckling.
His gaze made Sophia feel a bit uneasy.
She frowned and said, “Shoot.”
“The matter with Xenia was my oversight. I really didn’t know she would be so bold as to cause such a ruckus in the research institute.” That was the responsibility Professor Williams hadn’t fulfilled as the proxy for the institute–it was his fault.
He observed Sophia’s face and, seeing that her expression hadn’t changed a bit, he tentatively asked, “Ms. Roscente, since you’re back, when do you plan to resume your position at the Traditional Medicine Association? I’ve always kept the position of president for you.”
