Sophia didn’t detect the displeasure in Hudson’s tone and casually replied, “I’m a friend of Tristan’s. I have to do my best treating his grandpa.”
Hudson narrowed his clear eyes and suddenly leaned his face closer to Sophia. “Really… is that all?”
Sophia’s brows slightly furrowed. Just as she was about to say “Sure“, Tristan’s aloof face appeared in her mind.
Her long lashes fluttered, and to us
some reason, her heart skipped a beat.
She pressed her lips together and pushed back Hudson’s face, which was so close to her. “What else could it be?”
Hudson, however, caught her moment of hesitation.
Upset flickered in his eyes, and the hand hanging by his side slowly clenched into a fist.
But his voice showed no mood swings. “Alright, if you say so. There’s an auction tomorrow. Owen has been thinking about a precious herbal medicine that he needs me to get back for him. I’ll go there.”
Sophia nodded.
Then she stood up and patted Hudson on the shoulder. “I’ll leave it to you then. I’m heading back now.”
Hudson watched her back as she walked to the office door, subconsciously taking two steps forward. “Why are you leaving so soon?”
“I’m going home to accompany my family.” Sophia didn’t turn her head. She just raised her hand and waved casually. Hudson’s lips moved, but in the end, he didn’t stop Sophia.
He stood at the office door, and his clear eyes were now brooding. He looked like a completely different person.
‘Sophia and Tristan might not just be friends.
It was his intuition.

In the evening, Sophia accompanied her grandpa for a walk for better digestion.
She then returned to her room, took a shower, and walked out of the bathroom with her hair still damp.
Picking up her phone, she saw a message from Y half an hour ago.
She clicked to check it.
[Y: Sofi, are you available tomorrow?]
Sophia’s first reaction was to think that Andrew Yeats’s condition might have changed and that she might need to visit the hospital tomorrow.
She quickly made a video call.

This time, the call wasn’t answered immediately as before.
Instead, it took about a minute before the call was answered.
The first thing that appeared on the phone screen was Tristan’s exquisite face.
Sophia noticed that he was sitting at a desk cluttered with piles of documents.
“Did I disturb you?” she asked.
Under the camera, Tristan’s face looked increasingly noble. Sitting beneath the lights, he was surrounded by an aura that enhanced his mysterious and aloof presence.
And he attractively curled his thin lips.
Everything about him was so easy on the eye.
“No.” His mellow voice came through the phone, like an electric current. “I’m not busy.”
At that moment, standing opposite the desk outside the camera, Theodore James, Tristan’s special assistant in a sharp suit, clutched a pile of documents, and couldn’t help but feel his heart thump at his boss’s lie.
‘Not busy?
You stopped the international meeting halfway when the phone rang, then hurried back to the office to pretend nothing happened before answering the call, Theodore thought.
As Tristan’s personal assistant, it was the first time Theodore had ever seen his boss, who would usually finish meetings even during an earthquake, stop a meeting just to take a video call.
It was simply a “once in a lifetime” event.
When Theodore heard a woman’s cool and lazy voice from the other side of the video, his heart started beating even faster.
‘Ahhhh!
It’s the first time I’ve heard a female voice on my boss’s phone!‘ Theodore exclaimed inwardly.
He was itching to know who exactly was the woman.
‘Could it be Mr. Yeats‘ wife–to–be?‘ he wondered.
He stood there quietly, hoping to eavesdrop a little to find out how far his boss and the woman had gotten in their relationship.
Suddenly, the atmosphere became tense.
As a top personal assistant, Theodore’s instincts made him look up sharply, and sure enough, he met his boss’s icy gaze.
He shivered and immediately turned, swiftly exiting Tristan’s office with the documents in his arms as if some beast was after him.
“What happened?” Sophia asked, noticing that Tristan slightly lifted his eyes as if he was looking at someone, followed by the sound of hurried footsteps.

“It’s nothing. My assistant was in a hurry to leave, so he rushed off Tristan replied with an unchanged expression, his eyes. focusing on Sophia. “Were you just showering?”
Sophia responded with a “hmm“, casually raising her hand to brush her damp hair.
The strands clung to her glamorous face, dripping with water droplets.
The droplets trailed slowly down Sophia’s refined contours, falling into her sexy, fair collarbone, then further down…
Her hair had dampened her thin pajamas.
Under the lens, she looked so lazy and charming.
Desire glinted in Tristan’s eyes. The first button on his white shirt was pressing against his sexy Adam’s apple, which was moving slightly up and down.
Sophia stared at the screen. She didn’t know why, but she felt she could sense Tristan’s intense gaze on her.
Yet when she looked at him, his expression was clearly calm and unruffled.
Sophia pursed her lips, getting straight to the point. “Do you have something to talk to me about? Does your grandpa need me to check on him?”
“Grandpa is fine. He took a pill from the red bottle tonight, and he looks much better.” Tristan’s smile grew brighter.
It made his face even more captivating. “Thank you, Sofi.”
His languid, low voice wound into Sophia’s ear.
Sophia suddenly felt that burning sensation grow more pronounced, her ears involuntarily tinged red.
She awkwardly brushed back the strands of hair clinging to her face, using the damp hair to dispel the heat from her face. “You’re welcome.”
Tristan’s voice was clear and gentle. “There’s an auction tomorrow night that might have some rare herbs. Do you want to check it out?”
‘An auction? Could it be… the same one Tristan was talking about Sophia thought of the auction Hudson had mentioned.
