Chapter 95
Or maybe…
Under the education of their family, he actually didn’t have much feeling towards the creature called “sister“.
So when he saw that Chloe was abandoned by his family and could only struggle to survive at the bottom, his heart was unperturbed.
However, it was only until now that he deeply understood.
He wasn’t indifferent to his sister.
It depended on who that person was.
Maybe because Sophia’s two proposals served as a stepping–stone, his attention was drawn to her.
Or perhaps it was the real blood relationship at work.
He could clearly feel… the feeling Sophia gave him was different.
In front of Sophia, he wanted to be a good brother, to care for his sister, to love his sister.
Lukas raised his hand, letting his palm slowly fall on Sophia’s head.
With gentle movements, he ruffled her hair.
The soft touch of her hair made his heart melt completely.
Lukas’s sudden action made Sophia pause slightly.
She blinked her eyes.
She was not quite used to such intimacy.
But ultimately, she kept her posture of lying on the table, allowing his actions.
The temperature in his palm was hot, scalding.
And little by little, it made her feel warm inside and out.
It seemed like…
After being alone for a long time.
She suddenly got a brother, and that felt pretty good.

All day long, Allen and Lukas stayed in the manor. No matter how much Edward hinted or implied for them to get back to the company, they remained unmoved.
Their family estate, once cold and lonely, now brimmed with joyous laughter as the Roscente family enjoyed their time together.
In the evening.
In the garden at the back of their family estate.

Chapter 95
A middle–aged woman in a servant’s uniform quietly approached a jade–carved fence in the backyard and carefully opened the gate.
Outside the backyard, Xandra, dressed in a lotus–pink lady’s gown, stood holding an expensive limited–edition handbag.
This spot was a bit away from the center of the estate.
But she could still faintly hear the cheerful laughter of them coming from inside the estate.
Her fingers tightened around the handle of her handbag, her fingertips turning a pale shade of blue.
The dim light in the backyard cast shadows on her face, revealing her twisted expression as she stared intently at the center of the estate, exuding an aura of brooding malevolence.
It had been a day.
A whole day.
Not a single person from the Roscente Family had called to check on her.
All their thoughts were focused on Sophia.
Just because Sophia had returned.
Was she, the “daughter” who had been with them for over ten years, about to be kicked out of the Roscente Family?
Were all the feelings from the past ten years fake?
Was blood really that important?
More important than ten years of companionship?
Was she going to be forcibly cast aside without doing anything wrong?
How could she be willing to accept this?
But… the Roscente Family wasn’t even giving her a chance to fight for herself.
Without seeing anyone from her family, how could she leverage her biological father’s favor to stay?
Xandra absolutely could not willingly leave the Roscente Family.
As long as she left the Roscente Family, no matter how much wealth they gave her, it would not compare to the convenience and benefits brought by the title of the only daughter of the Roscente Family!
“Miss…”
The servant who opened the door looked at her standing under the light, at the center of the manor, with a dazed expression, and called out softly with a heart full of pity.
Xandra heard the voice, her fingers tightened around her purse, and when she raised her eyes, she had already restored the usual pride of a wealthy young lady. “Mary, how is it? After I left, did Father… mention me?”
Mary shook her head and said angrily, “That Sophia… she really knows how to please people, being so attentive around them, and she insists on not letting them go to work, making them stay by her side to see her flattering acts, and they were coaxed into happiness, how could they possibly remember you? Little Miss…”
Xandra’s face turned grim, and she bit her flaming red lips.

Mary looked at Xandra with anger and pity, “Little Miss… don’t overthink, that Miss… she’s just someone who was just brought back from outside, everyone probably just finds her a bit novel, but you, Little Miss, have years of emotional ties with them that can’t be easily replaced by some random person!”
Xandra thought so herself.
But…
She knew very well in her heart.
The recent attitude of the Roscente Family towards her, especially… Allen, who clearly owed her biological father a favor, was so indifferent to her.
If their attitude towards Sophia was just out of novelty, it would be fine.
She would still have a chance.
But what if it wasn’t?
What if blood ties could replace the affection she had nurtured for over a decade?
Then, wouldn’t she truly be kicked out of the Roscente Family?

“Miss, you don’t have time for self–pity anymore!” Mary looked at the once proud young lady, now in a state of disarray, and recalled how the masters had driven her out of the manor at noon to please Sophia.
Her heart ached painfully.
It could be said that the young lady grew up under her eye. The young lady was obedient, well–behaved, and worked hard to survive in this family.
Whenever she came to the Roscente Family Manor for meals, she never forgot to bring gifts for the group of servants.
Especially for her…
She received expensive gifts from this young lady every year.
She felt that the young lady treated her like an elder.
Therefore, she also treated the young lady as her own child, loving and caring for her.
Every time the Roscente Family gathered for a meal, Mary would inform Xandra in advance to help her integrate into the family more quickly.
This time was no different.
After overhearing them discussing about the party, she couldn’t wait to relay the latest news to Xandra, “I heard they say they are planning a birthday banquet for Sophia, saying they want to formally introduce her as the Roscente Family’s little princess…”
Xandra staggered, filled with shock.
Her face, unable to maintain its dignified elegance, twisted slightly.
Formally… introduce her to everyone.
And what about her?
Everyone knew Sophia was the true heiress of their family.

Wouldn’t she lose the title and aura of the Roscente Family’s heiress?
How could she stand in the upper–class then?
She would become a laughing stock!
Did the whole family really not care about her at all?!
Xandra was shaking with anger, her eyes red, and her fists clenched tightly.
“Miss…”

Mary reached out and gently held Xandra’s hand, soothing her with concern, “Don’t worry, you still have a chance and time. Don’t you still have Mr. Yeats? As long as you can firmly win his heart, the whole family is bound to value you!”
