Chapter 31
Cary took another quick glance at Tristan. That brief look seemed to lift his spirits completely,
Sophia and Tristan locked their eyes. Tristan’s gaze was intense, hinting at a strong but controlled desire.
His elegant fingers looked like they were just about ready to grab Sophia’s wrist and pull her in for a hug, with knuckles faintly showing white,
Gary knew Tristan well enough–he could sell that look was saying loud and clear, “Don’t hold back! Come on, hug me!“.
Just thinking about is made Gary shiver. But then he noticed a cold stare from the rearview mirror. He quickly raised the partition to block out everything happening in the backseat.
Tristan didn’t seem bothered by Gary’s reaction at all. Once the partition was up, his dark eyes focused intently on Sophia’s flushed face, and suddenly he broke into a gentle smile. That already gorgeous face became even more enchanting with that smile.
“You trust me?” he said softly with a chuckle as he leaned forward to take hold of her slender wrist resting on the seat. They got closer together while still keeping some space between them.
Sophia giggled, her long eyelashes fluttering as she glanced at his large hand on her wrist. “Yes, because I see you as a friend,” she said.
Tristan’s expression darkened further, and his calm face revealed deep emotions in the flickering light outside the car. After a few seconds of silence, he let out a soft chuckle.
That soft, magnetic laugh held a hint of restraint, yet it felt so real, gently echoing in Sophia’s ears. It was ticklish.
Tristan turned to look at Sophia, tilting his head slightly. Little sparks shone in his eyes, reminiscent of a small cat being petted. His brows were furrowed, giving him an indulgent and affectionate expression as he gazed at her.
The corners of his lips curved slightly as he gently brushed his fingertips against Sophia’s delicate wrist. His voice softened into a husky tone. we’re friends now, doesn’t it feel a bit formal to call me Mr. Yeats?”
He paused for a moment, playfully raising an eyebrow while his lazy voice lingered in her ears. “Hmm? Sophia?”
Sophia’s pupils widened slightly; that low, dark voice exploded like fireworks in her mind, sending waves of dizziness through her. She even woke up a few moments from her drunkenness.
After what felt like an eternity, she finally regained her composure and pulled back her wrist while clutching the suit jacket draped over her body. She leaned back and replied sofily, “Uh, Tristan
As friends, they shouldn’t be so formal with each other. It was just a strange feeling that made her heart race fast.
She tightly shut her eyes, pretending to be asleep because there was no way she wanted to look at that captivating face again! After all, it was easy to Jose control after a drink or two!
She didn’t realize how intense and dark Tristan’s gaze was on her at this moment. The simple name “Tristan” sounded incredibly nice coming from her.
The car pulled up at Sophia’s designated location. Tristan glanced over at Sophia, who had been resting with her eyes shut the whole time. He was about to lean in and wake her up when he noticed that her eyes were already open..
Sophia, who had been dozing off a bit, seemed awake now. She locked her gaze on Tristan, who was leaning in close, and her eyes fluttered a couple of times before she looked down and subtly shifted away from him.
Just then, the partition slid closed, and Cary turned his head. “Tristan, we’re here. Should we-” Before he could finish his thought, he noticed Tristan’s face close to Sophia’s–almost like they were about to kiss
He raised his hand to press the button that opened the partition and said awkwardly, “Well, go ahead, don’t mind me
Sophia reached out, opened the car door, and quickly got out. The suit jacket slipped down to her legs because of her sudden movement, but she caught it just in time.
Stepping out of the car’s cozy warmth, she felt a chill in the early morning breeze. She handed the jacket back into the car and said, “Thank you”
Tristan looked at her as her hair swayed gently in the cool wind, goosebumps appearing on her slim white arms.

He didn’t take the jacket. “It’s cold out here, you should put it on first. I’m worried it will take you a while to get back to your room.”
Typically, when a guy’s jacket ended up on a girl like that, it suggested something more than just friendship.
Sophia pursed her lips as if about to say something
Tristan’s deep eyes were fixed on her face as he spoke softly in the confined space of the car, “We’re all friends here, there’s no need for formalities, right Don’t you think so?”
When he uttered those last two words, his voice dropped low and sounded particularly warm and affectionate, causing Sophia’s ears to burn once
more.
Sophia clutched onto that suit jacket tightly. “Well then, see you next time” With that said, she quickly turned around and walked toward the
It was only after the gate closed behind her completely blocking his view that he slowly rolled up his window.
Gary was still leaning against the car window, totally stunned, staring at the huge manor that looked like a castle. He swallowed hard and said. “What’s the deal with this false daughter of the Stewart Family? Does she really live here?”
“HET NAME
is Sophia Roscente.” Tristan raised his eyebrows slightly, his pale, cool eyes fixed on Gary’s face.
“She doesn’t want to be linked with the Stewart Family, Calling her a false daughter doesn’t well.”

Gary pulled back and muttered, “Well. Then he suddenly went pale. “Wait a minute! Rocente? If I remember right, this mi around it belong to the Roscente Family”
He was shocked and lost color. “She’s connected to Virelia’s richest family, the Roscente Familly? No way?”
Tristan coolly turned away from him, the atmosphere thickening with tension. “Let’s go. He didn’t even bother to look up.
