Chloe stiffened.
By the time she turned around, she had already put on a tearful face, throwing herself at Alexander.
“She’s plotting against me!”
The next second, she was slapped to the ground.
Alexander’s face was grim, his eyes fierce.
“Chloe White, it was you who plotted against me.”
“The thing I hate most in this life is people’s damned schemes!”
“It’s not what you think…” She covered her cheek, crying and trying to explain.
But she was frightened by the disgust overflowing from his brow.
I had no interest in listening further and got up to leave.
But Alexander quickly followed, coming to grab my hand, “Where else are you going?”
“Come home with me.”
I coldly shook him off: “No.”
But he still persisted, “You’ve said your angry words, that’s enough. Come back with me!”
The next second, a tall figure blocked between us, shielding me behind him.
Alexander froze, his eyes suddenly sharp.
“You? The man from the photo?!”
The man extended his hand, his tone polite but composed and unyielding.
“Hello, Mr. Yan.”
“My name is Ethan Sullivan.”
“Mrs. Zhang’s lawyer, and suitor.”
In an instant, Alexander’s eyes flashed, his face tense.
