Chapter 2
Was it the plan to tell me, when I was at my happiest, that the past year had all been a dream of mine, and that I was just a toad trying to cling onto a swan?
I chuckled disdainfully, hating the heavens for not allowing me to reincarnate when I had died at
the happiest moment of my lifes
But unfortunately, I had to know that everything was just a dream, and I was just a clown on the
stage for people to mock.
As Sarah’s friend finished speaking, Frankie’s face noticeably turned pale.
I laughed mockingly, it seemed that he really despised me, otherwise, he wouldn’t have been so
angry when others mentioned him and me together.
Someone tried to smooth things over and said with a smile that if it weren’t for his personality, Mr. Gerardo wouldn’t have taken the company to the next level.
Sarah also glanced at her friend with a hint of warning.
Little did she know that her friend refused to step down and insisted on continuing to speak.
Sarah just softly called out “Daisy,” and there were no other words.
At that moment, I finally realized that Sarah had just expressed her opinion through a friend’s
mouth.
Everyone present was a sharp–minded person, and things that I could comprehend, they had already figured out long ago.
Someone suggested, “Mr. Gerardo, since the game is almost over, everyone was here at the beginning, so it should be the same at the end, right?”
“It’s already midnight, you definitely couldn’t make it back. Otherwise, let that little bitch Jessig
come over. Let us see her expression after she knows everything, it must be exciting and fun,
haha!”
The others also nodded in agreement with excitement written all over their faces.
Frankie, however, furrowed his brow and said, “That doesn’t seem right.”
My broken heart always managed to recover a little bit, fortunately. Even though Frankie played tricks on me and toyed with me, he was still a human being and would still think about giving me some dignity.
Little did I know, before I could even breathe a sigh of relief, Sarah simply furrowed her brows without leaving a trace.
Frankie immediately took Sarah’s hand and comforted her, saying, “I was just thinking that today was supposed to be my proposal dinner for you, and she came out of nowhere and ruined your eyes? Filining our ceremony. It’s really unfortunate.”
I couldn’t help but mock myself, laughing at the fact that I still had fantasies about Frankie. I thought that even after a year, even if I had a pet dog, there would still be some lingering affection
between us.
I was truly a complete idiot.
Someone whispered, “She is Mr. Gerardo’s true love. Just a frown on her face is enough to make Mr. Gerardo give in and explain. I grew up with him since we were little, and Mr. Gerardo is always so
carefree and stubborn.”
When Frankie was performing my favorite song, even though I was sick with a high fever and couldn’t get out of bed, I asked him to take a day off just to accompany me instead of going out for delivery, but he never stayed.
When I was angry, for
e would just look at me with a cold face, never bowing his head, only waitin me to figure things out and apologize to him properly.
Yeah, everything was just a performance. Without sincerity, there would be no action. When his true love frowned at him, he hurriedly opened his mouth to explain.
In this game of emotions, he has always been the one in control, while I just pretended to go along “with it, and I ended up being defeated.
Sarah spoke up, her voice soft but firm, “Call Jessie over, my brother happens to have a social project studying a similar direction, and I can provide him with some materials.”
